Ant and Dec were reportedly furious with their show boss Simon Cowell at the weekend, when he kept them and the whole Britain’s Got Talent team waiting for two hours….while he had a bath!

Insiders say the Geordie duo asked producers if they could start filming and begin work without the music mogul, after he failed to show up to the Cradiff venue where tryouts were being held.

Alesha Dixon and David Walliams turned up long before Cowell and the team were said to be incensed when the star confessed that he had been held up, because he was soaking in the tub and watching cartoons.

When Simon finally rolled up to the Millennium Centre, Ant and Dec wrote on Twitter:

“Simon Cowell is in the building (apparently) only two hours late. Boring.”

A show insider told The Mirror: “Simon is known for not being that punctual, but he went too far this time.

“He kept all of production, the judges and the audience waiting for hours.

“He may have been working late, but the fact that he still found time for a bath before turning up late was too much.

“If he does it again in London we really will start without him because it costs money keeping the cameras rolling and all of production waiting around.”

However, when Simon did finally arrive, he and David Walliams are said to have formed quite the comedy duo, with them taking part in a pose off and constantly teasing one another, along with the hopeful acts.

During the ceremony on London’s O2 Arena, it was announced that the hit ITV series was up against The Only Way Is Essex, Come Dine With Me and The Apprentice in it’s category and it was hardly a shock when Ant and Dec triumphed again, having earlier won the gong for ‘Best Entertainment Presenter.’

Recent winner Dougie Poynter, along with contestants Fatima Whitbread, Mark Wright and Antony Cotton joined the duo on the stage to accept the trophy from new The Voice UK judge Will.i.am and Ant ranted:

Thank you, this is fantastic. Thank you very much indeed! We didn’t think we’d get this one at all.

Thank you to a fantastic team that work on the show and have done since year dot.

Dec added:

It’s such a punishing schedule out there and everyone sacrifices a lot. Our team, the Australian crew and of course all of the celebrities but no one sacrifices quite as much as the male kangaroo population of Australia. They really keep the show going.

Ant and Dec have once again hit success on the National Television Awards.

Tonight the Geordie duo – best known as the hosts of Britain’s Got Talent, Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent – beat Keith Lemon, Dermot O’Leary and Michael McIntyre to win in the category of ‘Best Entertainment Presenter’.

The boys may be used to scooping awards but they were as humble as ever as they accepted their trophy from Kermit The Frog and Dec said:

Thank you, we have been lucky enough to win a couple of these over the last few years and every time sitting there and hearing your name being read out, it feels like the first time we ever won it again. We are just so honoured and humbled to have gotten your votes again for this we really are. Thank you so much.

Ant added:

I want to say a massive thank you to Sir Bruce Forsythe for allowing us to come on and do the opening with him and if we have a career half as long and half as successful as him, then we’ll both be very happy.

Ant and Dec have admitted that they aren’t sure if Red Or Black will return to our TV screens for a second series.

The Britain’s Got Talent hosts fronted the new ITV gameshow last week, and saw four millionaires emerge over the seven shows. However some sources have claimed that the channel will not commission a second series, as the ratings didn’t live up to it’s expectations.

The Geordie stars don’t seem too clued in on it’s future though and say channel bosses have yet to inform them of their intentions regarding series two.

Dec said: “It was our first series and we all learned a lot from it. I think we can improve the show.

“We’ll just see what ITV says – they’re the ones who sign the cheques.”

Controversy erupted after the first episode of the series, when Nathan Hageman won one millions pounds but was revealed to have recently served a prison sentence, for severely beating his ex-girlfriend. Many viewers and domestic violence charities were furious and insisted that the prize money should be retracted, arguing that better checks should have been set in place, to vet possible contestants.

However, Dec said the initial furore, didn’t affect the other six shows last week, adding:

“The scandal around Nathan didn’t put a damper on the series for me. We made four millionaires which we set out to do, so we were pleased in that way.”

Ant and Dec have started laying out their wish list for this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity.

In just two months time the TV duo will be jetting off to the Australian jungle to start preparing for the latest run of the ITV reality series and speaking to The Daily Star last night confessed that they’d love their boss Simon Cowell to join as a contestant, but don’t think he could stand the pace.

The Geordie stars said that the X Factor judge is too pampered to live in the jungle, eating just beans and rice and Dec explained:

“Simon wouldn’t last two minutes.

“In the morning he has to have three different kinds of smoothie.

“I don’t think he’d cope with the smoothies we’d give him. They’d probably be purified testicles.”

Ant has some other ideas though and has a few male celebrities that he thinks would make great TV viewing. Speaking about who he ‘d like to see on the tenth series of I’m A Celebrity – due to launch this November – he said:

“It’d be a good idea to have Ryan Giggs in there, or even Peter Stringfellow if he had the balls!”

Ant and Dec are back!

TV’s most powerful duo return to our screens as they front new ITV gameshow Red Or Black tomorrow night and in an interview with Buzz magazine about the series, they had a fair few kind words to say about their boss, Simon Cowell.

Dec was the first to compliment the music mogul, saying:

“He’s probably the best TV judge in the world.”

Speaking about the new series of The X Factor, the first on which Simon Cowell won’t judge, Dec added that he’s sure he’ll make a guest appearance at some point this winter.

He added:

“I’m sure Simon will be on the X Factor, he won’t be able to help himself.”

Being Geordies, Ant admitted that he loves fellow reality TV show Geordie Shore, saying:

“When it first started I was kind of appalled, but the more I watched it the more I got into it. It makes me laugh!”

But the question we were dying to know the answer to is, True or false? You are both insured against the other’s death, Dec replied:

“True!”

Well they are pretty special!

Rory McIlroy celebrated his recent win at the U.S. Open Championship, by taking part in filming for Ant and Dec’s new TV show.

The 22 year old professional golfer from County Down, Northern Ireland took part in a challenge for ITV series Red Or Black, which saw him competing against world No2 Lee Westwood, 38.

Before the challenege started hopeful contestants, who had put their names forward for the show via the official website, were asked to bet on which golfer would be able to hit a gong which was placed 100 yards away in the middle of a lake at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire.

Dec told The Sun:

“It was great watching the US Open on TV, but nothing compared to the drama of seeing these two golfing greats knocking balls at the Red or Black gong.”

Ant added: “We got to meet two of our golfing heroes.”

Ant and Dec have admitted that they were ‘shocked’ by tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent result.

The telly duo front the ITV show and were surprised too announce that Scottish singer Jai McDowall had taken the winners title and the £100,000 prize money, over 12 year old performer Ronan Parke – who has been the bookies favourite for weeks.

Speaking on ITV2′s Britain’s Got More Talent, Dec said:

He was the dark horse of the competition. All the attention this week surrounding Ronan kind of made everyone take their eye off it a little bit. He had a great semi final and a great final performance and he deserved it….but it was a shock.

Ant added:

This is what I can’t work out. I think he is a lovely lovely fella, he’s a really nice guy, his semi final performance was brilliant and I didn’t really know the song he did tonight but he performed it really well. I think the public really go for that, they like nice people.

Dec also thinks that Jai’s personality as well as his singing had a lot to do with the result and continued:

He is very nice, he’s so likeable. You can see that he’s nervous,. He doesn’t really have massive self belief.

Ant concluded:

It just goes to show that it’s not a forgeone conclusion, no matter what anybody says.

Simon Cowell has refused to speak about Cheryl Cole throughout this week’s Britain’s Got Talent live shows, however tonight, he seemed to make an sly joke about the recent furore.

The music mogul has found himself being painted as public enemy number one after he sacked the former Girls Aloud star from the X Factor USA panel last week.

It had been reported that Cowell banned all the show’s staff from mentioning her name on set, however tonight he alluded to the scandal while critiquing impressionist Les Gibson.

Les performed a series of impressions on the live show, but one of his best was a sendup of show host Declan Donnelly, who he portrayed as being very camp.

After his act, Cowell turned to the 41 year old performer and joked that Les should now take over from the pint sized presenter and form a new telly duo called ‘Ant and Les.’

He then turned to Donnelly and laughed:

‘As we know, that’s show business!’

When Dec joked that his boss had it ‘in for Geordies this week,’ Simon slapped his own hand and admitted:

‘I’m in so much trouble tomorrow!’

We just hope Cheryl wasn’t watching his cheeky display! She might be a bit gutted that he is treating her downfall so lightly!

The TV duo teased Cowell about whether or not he could understand their Geordie accents, after it was rumoured that he sacked Cole from the US X Factor. because of her regional dialect.

They thought he would be furious, but insiders say that the music mogul actually found the whole incident quite funny.

A BGT source told The Sun:

“Everyone laughed – it was proper gallows humour. When the lads bumped into Simon they thought he would tick them off.

“But he said he loved it. He’s so fed up of her ignoring him he’s happy to let her have the p*** taken out of her on TV.”

Cheryl has reportedly claimed that she refused to take a job on the UK X Factor, because she doesn’t want to be seen as Simon’s new Sinitta. Louis Walsh says she is now planning a reunion tour with her old bandmates, Girls Aloud.
