Anthony Hutton believes the celebrities team on Sky one’s The Match are ready for their big moment at St James Park!
Now he’s about to realise his dream of playing on the hallowed St James’s Park pitch, Anthony Hutton is dreaming about scoring the winner against the Legends tonight.
“I’ve been visualising it this morning,” he said after the morning’s warm up. And while he’d like to score a cracker, he said he’s have no qualms scoring with a cross and claiming it was a shot.
Hutton described the mood in the camp as confident, with a few nerves but Danny Young added, “I think a little bit of nerves is good. We’ve got the right level.”
The Celebs have a low-key preparation today but the atmosphere on matchday is a little different from normal.
“We know it’s time to get it on. We’ve done our training, we’ve done our tactics, the team’s been selected. We’re just ready to get this match underway,” Anthony said.
We can expect the Big Brother winner to operate on the left side of midfield, but he sees the key areas being elsewhere.
“All important, the defence need to stay tight. And there’s a big battle in central midfield between Jonathan Wilkes and [Ben Shephard] and David Batty and Peter Reid. But if the attacking side of our play works, we’ll score goals,” he said, confidently.
Hutton has impressed coach Luther Blissett, so much so that he speculated whether he might have made it as pro. But for now, all he’s thinking about is winning.
“It would be absolutely fantastic,” he said.
And with the Legends pumped up to get one over on the Celebs it would be quite an achievement too.
