We thought Zayn Malik was nursing a broken heart after splitting from Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards and Harry Styles only had eyes for Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack, however maybe we got the wrong end of the stick.

The young One Direction hunks were spotted out on the town with JLS star Aston Merrygold this week and judging by reports, the lads were certainly working the crowd.

The Mirror claims that Aston took the young singers to London nightclub Movida, where onlookers say they spent the night dancing and flirty with a whole heap of their female fans.

A source explained: “They were picking out the prettiest girls to come into their V-VIP section. At one point it must have been more like 30 girls to four boys. They really had their work cut out but, between them, they made it happen.”

“Aston had his mobile out to punch in some numbers, all the while dancing with three women.”

The insider added: “Zayn and Niall proved great wingmen, picking the girls up and swinging them around, while Harry reeled them in with his cheeky smile.”

“Their eyes almost popped out of their heads as girls gyrated on the chairs in their tiny dresses.”

Poor old Caroline…..this just proves that she should never have trusted a younger man!

Aston Merrygold was a smug looking buger on tonight’s Xtra Factor show.

The JLS singer admitted on the ITV2 spinoff that he was feeling quite chuffed with himself, because he had predicted that Marcus Collins and Little Mix would be in the X Factor final in week one.

The boyband had a bit of a book going between themselves, on who would make it this far and the pint sized star admitted that both he and J.B backed Liverpudlian crooner Marcus from the start. He said:

I predicted this on the first live show. I predicted Little Mix and Marcus so I’m happy within my JLS wager. JB said Marcus from the first too.

Aston is also a big fan of Amelia Lily who was eliminated last night and added:

She’s amazing, she’s a popstar, she’s a young Christina Aguilera.

Tonight Marcus and Little Mix will go head to head with a Christmas song and their take on the winner’s single, on the ITV results show.

Aston Merrygold has admitted that he hasn’t been on a date in months and confessed that he is well and truly single.

The 23 year old singer – who rose to fame when his four piece boyband JLS finished second in the 2008 series of The X Factor – has thousands of female fans but despite half of his group being settled down with a serious girlfriend, he can’t seem to find the time for women.

Aston told The Mirror:

“I am still single through choice ­because no one has caught my eye.

“It sounds bad but I’ve been working so much that I’m literally just in work mode.

“We want to make the best album there is so I haven’t been on dates for months.”

JLS’ third studio album is set for release on November 14, 2011. The first single from the record – titled She Makes Me Wanna – will be available for download from tomorrow.

Aston Merrygold has admitted that he would love to judge on the show which made him famous.

The JLS singer shot to fame when his boyband came second on The X Factor in 2008 and he commented that he is sure he would be a very ‘honest’ mentor, if he landed a spot on the ITV panel.

The hunky singer said: “Of course I’d do it, definitely. I think if you are asked to be one of the judges, it shows you’ve had a pretty good career.

“I think we would be honest judges – we wouldn’t want to give anyone false hope.”

Fellow JLS crooner Oritse Williams added that he thinks having been through the experience of a TV talent show themselves, would give them an extra credibility on the series.

He added to TOTP magazine: “We’ve been there before so we’d try to be sympathetic to whoever was auditioning. We know what a daunting experience it really is.”

Oritse also thinks show bosses should think about introducing a “JLS rota system” whereby the four-piece boyband each take a turn at judging ‘The X Factor’.

He recently joked: “I think they should do a JLS rota system, I’ll do one week, Marvin can do another, JB can do one and then Aston can do one.”

Aston Merrygold has admitted that he would love to appear on ITV’s Take Me Out.

The JLS singer, who shot to fame on the 2008 series of The X Factor, admitted that eh would have ‘nothing to lose’ by going on the ITV dating show, as he is currently single and on the lookout for a girlfriend.

He told The Daily Star:

“I suppose I’m going to have to go on Take Me Out to find someone. I think I’d be a bit self-conscious going on the show, but I’d definitely try it. I’ve got nothing to lose.”

However, Merrygold’s mum doesn’t want him to take part, as she’s worried all the girls would turn their lights off when he walks onto stage. Aston laughed:

“I was talking about it the other day with my mum.”

“She said she wouldn’t want me on the show as she’s scared I’d get all my lights turned off. It would be embarrassing.”

JLS star Aston Merrygold admitted that he and pal JJ have a healthy rivalry where the ladies are concerned.

The singer told Heat that he has started watching Channel 4′s Big Brother since his friend became a housemate, claiming never to have seen the reality TV show before.

Merrygold said: “I’ve never, ever watched Big Brother live before, but I actually sat there and watched the live stream for an hour.”

On his friendship with the professional boxer he said:

“We’ve got this thing called c*ck-blocking.

“We went to the theatre a couple of weeks ago and JJ was talking to this girl who was an usher. Then I walked over and said, ‘Hi’. And he was like , ‘You’re such a Blocker, man!’.

“I didn’t get her number, though, because it’s an unwritten code: if you see the girl first, you get to chat first. He’s successful with the ladies – he’s a pretty boy.”

Jedward and JLS fans are in for a treat tonight. The X Factor twins will be appearing on Big Brother’s Little Brother, while Aston from JLS will be taking part in a live phone in.

Aston is best friends with new housemate JJ, who entered the Big Brother house on Friday night. He’ll be chatting with George Lamb and Emma Willis about his pal and spilling some juicy gossip about the professional boxer who has caught Josie’s eye.

John and Edward Grimes will be live in the BBLB studio and as we already revealed, will be entering the house to perform with the housemates later this week.

The Daily Mirror reports that Marvin and girlfriend Rochelle Wiseman – singer in the Saturdays – want to find their friend a girlfriend, but she won’t be “a Twitter freak” apparently.

A source close to the band told the paper, “Aston may be a hottie, but he hasn’t had the best luck with the ladies.

“He used to have the best pulling machine with Marvin as his wingman, but now Marvin is loved-up with Rochelle and he wants the same for his best mate…

“No Twitter freaks are allowed. They don’t want any more kiss and tweets.”

The article goes on to state the Marvin and Rochelle are even planning to “chaperone” Aston when he’s on dates.

JLS heart throb Aston Merrygold has revealed that he is planning to buy his very own London bachelor pad.

The 22 year old singer currently shares an apartment with his bandmate Marvin Humes, who is dating The Saturdays’ star Rochelle Wiseman.

Merrygold told the Daily Record: “I am sorting my life out. That’s why I am going to meetings with estate agents to look at properties.

“Until now, I’ve been sharing a place with Marvin but we are all big boys now. It’s time for me to do it on my own.”

He added: “I’m a single man. People think I have a girlfriend if I am seen talking to someone but that isn’t the case.

“The trouble is Marvin is cramping my style with this whole relationship game.

“If I see a place I like then I am going to have to scramble together the pennies to make it happen. The main thing is to make sure it is somewhere I love.”

JLS star Aston Merrygold has reportedly rekindled his romance with The Bill star Louisa Lytton.

The pair dated before Aston’s boyband found fame on the X Factor and sources report that they looked cosy again last night at The Mayfair Club in London.

An onlooker told The Daily Star: “Aston and Louisa arrived together at 1am.

“Aston got a table covered in vodka bottles and invited people to join them.

“But while most of their friends danced Aston and Louisa spent the night cosying up in the corner of the club.”
