Radar Online is reporting today that ex-American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, has been offered a job on Australian Idol.
It follows hot on the heels of the news that Paula quit her job on American Idol amid a row about her salary. The site reports that the bosses of Australian Idol “put their request to strike a deal with her in writing.”
And it seems that they aren’t the only ones keen to snap Paula up; it’s rumoured that the makers of So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With The Stars are also keen to sign her up too. Read more & comment »

We recently reported that the Australian Idol judges would be travelling to London in order to discover some ex-pat Australians who may have what it takes to appear on the reality TV show.
It has now been revealed that pop stars, Darren Hayes and Tina Arena, will be joining the normal judges in the search of London talent.
Hayes, former frontman of band Savage Garden, told Confidential: “As an Australian entertainer living in London I definitely have a soft spot for Aussies trying to make it overseas. Rather than judging people, I’m going to be looking for that little bit of magic that someone once saw in me. Read more & comment »

In a bid to boost its flagging ratings, Australian Idol is set to hold auditions overseas for the first time.
Producers and judged will fly into London and LA in a bid to find some talented Aussie ex-pats for the show.
Freemantle Media Australia, the company behind the show, said that more Australians live in the U.K. and the U.S. than live in the smallest Australian states of the Northern Territory, the Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania combined, and that they want to “tap into this fantastic and as yet unknown talent pool.” Read more & comment »
