The tour is conducted by Michael Noakes, a well-known artist who has painted portraits of many members of the Royal Family, including the Queen. At the conclusion of the tour, the girls face their first challenge of the week. Under Michael Noakes’ guidance, they must paint a self-portrait of how they see themselves as a Princess.

The girls travel back to Boughton Monchelsea Place to show Paul and Jean their portraits and it is Leanne who wins yet another challenge. Leanne chooses Stephanie to accompany her on her prize. They will attend the opening night and meeting the cast of the Holland Park Opera. The rest of the girls are forced to listen to three hours of classical music, in silence with Jean.

The next morning Paul sends the girls off to meet James for their next lesson, on the Royal sport of Polo. After tuition from the former Captain of the Young England team, the girls play a game and again Leanne does well. At the end of the lesson, James has invitations for the girls to attend a Royal Windsor Cup polo match at Windsor Great Park the next day. This is their final challenge for the week.

The next day the girls meet Paul and James at the Queen’s Gate, the same entrance Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry use to enter the Queen’s Box at Windsor Great Park. First stop is a pimms on the lawn of the Clubhouse. But as the girls are relaxing with the Beaus around the table, Paul, Jean and James spring a polo quiz on them. After the quiz, everyone moves to the stands to watch the match.

After the full time whistle is blown, the girls meet the teams, one of whom is the Prince of Jordan. Leanne spends quite a while chatting to his Royal Highness.

After the presentation the girls chat to the polo players, and the Judges deliberate on how the girls have faired over the past week. Five girls become four before the week is over.

ITV2 Saturday 31 March 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

View the original post Australian Princess: Art, Music And The Sport Of Kings. on Unreality TV

Australian Princess: Prince Michael Steps In

Reality TV

Australian Princess

ITV2

After weeks of hard graft and nail-biting eliminations, the remaining six princesses-in-training head to England and are introduced to a world they have only ever imagined. They dine with royalty, experience the Royal Derby in the presence of the Queen and are courted by three sophisticated English gents – a future Baronet, a member of the exclusive Chelsea ‘party set’ and a young property developer with a secret.

Unbeknownst to our princesses-in-training, the property developer is actually Prince Michael, an undercover prince who will crown one of the girls Australian Princess 2 at a lavish masked ball held at Leeds Castle in her honour.

But only one girl will reach the pinnacle. Who will shake off their old life to dance with a real prince and be crowned the next Australian Princess? Don’t miss this real life My Fair Lady fairytale with a sprinkling of the Cinderella story.

It’s the last leg of the Australian side of the competition and by the end of this episode two girls will have to say goodbye to their dreams of becoming an Australian Princess.

Jackie O meets our girls at the Princess Mansion and explains that this week they will get their first taste of dealing with people less privileged than themselves. They will also learn how to use the media to help them in their charity work.

Jackie sends them off to the notorious Block in Sydney’s Redfern where the girls help prepare a barbaque for the local Aborigines. The girls play with the local children and later hand out blankets to people sleeping rough on the inner-city streets. All of the girls are moved by their charity experience; country Kate has never even seen a homeless person before and Carolyn is literally moved to tears.

The following day starts bright and early as Paul sets the next challenge. Tomorrow the wannabe princesses must become mentors for young girls from less privileged backgrounds. In preparation Caroline Dale from the Smith Family takes them through the charity’s Mentor Programme.

The girls are very enthusiastic about the class. As princesses-in-training they are all very keen to become positive role models to all. However, Paul doesn’t think Carla is taking the class as seriously as she should be, especially when he finds her doodling gravestones and other gothic images during Caroline’s class! Contrastingly, this is the first task in which Kylie has actually impressed Jean, but Paul is very disappointed by Amy who up untill now has been his favourite.

As Always, Leanne does well and she and Kylie earn a High Tea at the Victoria Room. Jackie O joins them to catch up on how their week is going and to find out the fallout from last week’s blazing row. Can Leanne and Kylie put their differences aside?

The remaining girls are given instructions on how to polish silver – to Buckingham Palace standards of course. Even though the girls stay up untill midnight polishing, Paul is not impressed with the job the finished product and soon loses control of his temper. However, Paul’s outburst simply leaves Carolyn and Stephanie in a fit of giggles.

Next up Paul gives the girls a lesson on how to deal with the media. The final challenge of the week is to front a press conference to promote the Smith Family. However, when you are in the media spotlight, it is hard to keep your private life private and soon the journalists start asking questions about Carla’s bisexuality, Amanda’s republican attitude and Carolyn’s past affairs. Paul, Jean and Jane watch horrified as some of the girls forget Paul’s lesson from the day before!

With the judges’ shock decision last week to keep all the girls, two girls have to go home this week and the judges deliberate long into the night. Which girls will be chosen and lose their chance to fly to England and be crowned Australian Princess?

ITV2 Wednesday 14 March 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM

View the original post Australian Princess: Prince Michael Steps In on Unreality TV

Australian Princess: Training Moves To England

Eight girls now remain in the competition and even though it is only week three divisions are forming amongst them.

Last week Carla drunkenly confessed that she has developed a crush on one of the other princess wannabes. Unsurprisingly, Carla is very quiet this week!

Jackie O starts the episode at the Princess Mansion with a rundown of the coming week’s activities. So far the experts have worked on how our princesses-in training look and sound. Now its time to refine how the girls think and act.

First up, Jean and Paul quiz the girls on their general knowledge. Jean can’t believe the appauling results and Paul tells the girls they must start reading more news and less celebrity gossip.

Next its time to learn how to waltz. The girls are paired up and Carla is delighted with her dance partner; the girl on whom she has a crush!

After the misserable dance lesson, Paul explains to the girls that princesses need to be able to talk to anyone at any time. Following a lesson on the fine art of small talk, the girls are set their first challenge of the week. In a twist on speed dating, the girls participate in speed meeting. Each girl must make small talk for two minutes each with a priest, a council worker, a life guard and a bus driver.

Not everyone does well at this task. Kate manages to ask a priest, who is dressed in a “dog collar” what he does for a living, while Stephanie asks what he likes to do at the weekend! Jean is concerned that Kylie is trying to chat up the life guard and Carolyn struggles to make small talk to the busdriver, asking him if he meets a lot of people in his job!

For the second consecutive week Leanne wins the task and is rewarded with dinner at Luke Mangan’s restaurant, who is the very same chef who cooked for Princess Mary. The rest of the girls learn patience and discipline when they take boisterous puppies for a walk.

The next day the girls get a lesson on wine, followed by a lesson from Paul on how to prepare a toast. Some of the girl’s palates are not as advanced as Paul might have wished. Leanne picks the corked wine as her favourite!

Jackie arrives at the Princess Mansion and tells the girls they are all off to the country for a weekend break. The girls are attending the local Ball and will be required to perform a toast during the evening. The girls only manage to stay at the ball for an hour and they fail to deliver a toast. How are the experts going to decide who should stay in the competition and whose journey is over?

ITV2 Wednesday 7 March 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM

View the original post Australian Princess: Training Moves To England on Unreality TV

Australian Princess: The Girls Take On Shakespeare!

Reality TV

Australian Princess

ITV2

Week two of Princess Boot-camp begins with our girls moving into their very own mansion in Sydney’s dress circle suburb of Woollahra. Jackie O greets the girls as they arrive and invites them to explore their new home.

Stephanie remarks that the house has everything you could possibly want in a mansion, except a Prince! But the girls get a huge shock when Jackie leads them into the main bedroom – already ensconced there is Jean Broke-Smith! Jean informs the girls that she will be living with them 24/7 to make sure they do not waste a minute of their training! Kylie is horrified. Having Jean Broke-Smith in the next bedroom will be worse than Big Brother, in fact it will be more like Big Mother!

In this episode, the girls undergo a complete physical make-over, hair, make-up and clothes. They meet their own personal Princess Stylist, designer Alex Zehntner who advises each girl on the best style to suit their shape and colouring. Meanwhile, Jean advises them on the appropriate dress for a Princess, ugg boots, midriff tops and ripped jeans are consigned to the bin. Face and tongue piercings are definitely a no-no, much to Kylie and Carolyn’s concern. Do they keep their piercings and risk the ire of Jean and possibly lose their places in Princess Boot-camp? Or do they remove them and risk losing their personality?

Then it’s off to Nicole Kidman’s eyebrow artist, Sharon Lea to get the perfect eyebrows and make-up, as well as hair makeovers all round. Our Goth loses her black locks (not without some tears) and 30 year old Leanne loses her pony tail.

On their first night in the house, Jean goes out. Of course the alcohol is opened, the music is turned up very loud and it is definitely party time for the wannabe princesses. And as the alcohol flowed, secrets are revealed in the Diary Room. Already lines between the girls are being drawn.

Four of the girls short-sheet Jean’s bed! Of course when Jean finds out she hits the roof, banning alcohol and demanding that the girls behave themselves, or else!

In the first challenge of the week the girls are given $1,000 each to spend at Esprit, the catch is that they have just ten minutes to select outfits appropriate for their new life as Princesses-in-training. Carla ends up in tears, it has been years since she has worn any colour but black and she is not sure that she is ready to cope with the change.

Two winners emerge and are rewarded with a ‘Princess’ magazine shoot to feature in Women’s Day. The rest of the girls head home with Paul to learn a very important practical skill, how to iron.

With the girls appearances totally made-over, it’s time to work on their voices. Who better to call on but voice coach, Professor John Higgins? John has worked with actors and celebrities around the world, including the international cast on the recent Superman movie.

At the end of the lesson Paul Burrell and Professor Higgins announce the week’s elimination challenge. In their very first public appearance, the girls must present a package from Shakespeare to an audience of future leaders of Australian industry. What the girls don’t find out until they arrive is that their audience is made up of teenage boys from St Andrews Cathedral School. The very same audience, in fact, that the Queen addressed earlier in the year when she was in Australia for the Commonwealth Games.

Some of the girls struggle with Shakespeare’s language and some do surprisingly well, then it’s Kylie’s turn and she introduces herself with “My name is Kylie Booby” and the audience of teenage boys (a,d Paul!) can’t control their laughter as Kylie stands at the lectern.

This episode will air on ITV2 on Wed 28th Feb, 8pm

View the original post Australian Princess: The Girls Take On Shakespeare! on Unreality TV

Australian Princess On ITV2

Reality TV

Australian Princess

ITV2

The girls’ first lesson begins with Paul laying down the law. When he was Butler to Princess Diana, all her staff called her “the Boss. But now if the girls want to become Princesses they must treat him as the Boss, and follow his every instruction.

Next up British etiquette and grooming professional Jean Broke-Smith gives each girl her special once over treatment and appraises how they walk, talk and sit. Not everyone is impressed with Jean’s opinion! Already Paul picks out two girls with attitude – Kylie and Stephanie. How long will they last in the competition?

Jean wakes the girls at dawn next morning and they head out to the Olympic Rowing venue. Here they meet the Duchess of York’s sister, Jane Ferguson who tells them how she and her sister used to visit the Henley Royal Regatta. The catch is that the girls will not be watching this Royal pursuit, they will be participating in it. The girls are split into three teams and compete in a rowing race. The experts have devised this challenge to sort out which girls are the leaders and which girls are the whingers, and who is prepared to give it everything they have to win. But it also reveals a wild streak in Kylie who ends up in a blazing row with Paul!

At the end of the race, two of the girls have impressed the experts, earning a pamper package at the new Sydney Hilton and head off to enjoy their treat.

Then, in a shock move Jackie O arrives and divides the remaining girls into two groups. Already the experts have decided that two of the girls just don’t have what it takes to become Princesses. These two are sent home immediately. The remaining eight return to the hotel to learn some humility and discipline as they clean rooms with Sydney Hilton Housekeeping.

Princesses have to be able to travel the world and easily meet other people, so in the girls’ next lesson, they learn about other cultures. The girls meet Tongan, and Muslim women who explain about their culture while Jean and Jane teach the girls the finer points of curtseying.

The eight remaining girls are invited to their first High Society Challenge – a cocktail party attended by members of the local Tongan and Muslim communities, where they must impress the judges with all they have learned in the past week. There are sparks and there are tears and again Kylie and Paul cross swords.

ITV2 Wednesday 21 February 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM

View the original post Australian Princess On ITV2 on Unreality TV

Australian Princess: Girl’s Try Their Hand At Poetry

Reality TV

Australian Princess

ITV2

In the seventh week of competition and the girl’s second week in London the four remaining contenders are off to Queens College in Cambridge, to learn all about the art of speaking beautifully and publicly. In the grand tradition of ‘My Fair Lady’, a team of experts in all things regal are led by PAUL BURRELL, former butler to PRINCESS DIANA, who is transforming these average Aussie girls into women of style, elegance and grace. Twelve lucky girls have been selected for the chance to be transformed into ladies fit for a prince. Along with Australian personality and host Jackie O, Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell is back to help these potential princesses make their dream become a royal reality. Australian Princess Series 2 is brand new and exclusive to ITV2. Wednesdays from 15 November at 8pm.

Every little girl dreams of becoming a princess, and 12 ordinary young women will battle it out for the coveted title of Australian Princess 2. With glittering prizes worth thousands of dollars also to be won, this fairytale with a difference begins as the girls, aged between 19 to 30, arrive at Sydney’s Hilton hotel to meet Jackie O and start their training.

Our budding princesses come from all walks of life and among those vying for the title are a goth, a doctor, a graphic designer, a variety of students, a barmaid, a receptionist, a car saleswoman, a beauty therapist and most unlikely of all – a pig farmer!

The girls will be preened, pampered and polished to within an inch of their lives as they learn how to walk, talk and act like proper ladies. Paul Burrell leads a team of experts, including British etiquette and grooming professional Jean Broke-Smith. They take on the ultimate challenge – to turn these modern day Eliza Doolittles into bona fide royalty.

Australian Princess Series 2 is brand new and exclusive to ITV2.
