Strictly quicksteps back to bring a sprinkling of festive sparkle to your Christmas day. Five new twinkling stars will don their sequins and dust off their dancing shoes in the hope of delivering a Christmas treat.
The five-star line-up will bring together stars of stage and screen, sport and entertainment: former world featherweight boxing champion Barry McGuigan who will be dancing with Erin Boag, Hi-De-Hi legend Su Pollard dancing with Anton Du Beke, Blue’s Simon Webbe and his professional partner Katya Virshilas, comedienne Debra Stephenson and professional dancer Ian Waite, , and completing the famous five is EastEnders’ prime villainess Janine Butcher, actress Charlie Brooks, who will take to the ballroom floor with Vincent Simone.

Former boxing champion Barry McGuigan was last night crowned the winner of Hell’s Kitchen and he’s already got some thoughts about his culinary future.
“Mcguigan’s mash,” he laughed on GMTV this morning (Tues 18th), “I’m certainly going to do something. Mcguigans’s sauce maybe but we’ll see!”
“I would never do it again (go back into Hell’s Kitchen) but (I’m) definitely going to ring Marco and ask him for some classes so I can reinforce it.”
McGuigan pipped Emmerdale actress Adele Silva into second place. Both had said they were useless at cooking before the competition and Barry laughed that: “I’d never cooked a thing in my life and now (I) know all the names of the utensils in the kitchen.” Read more & comment »

Actress Adele Silva and former boxer, Barry McGuigan will go head to head in tomorrow night’s final of ITV1 reality TV show, Hell’s Kitchen. The pair found themselves in the final after fellow chefs, Brian Dowling and Paul Young were voted out by the public.

Food hell: Barry doesn’t have a food hell.
Former Boxer, Barry McGuigan, is no stranger to pressure. He channelled his anger and aggression to become the best in the world during his professional fighting career. But now he has hung up his boxing gloves and is heading into the kitchen – will he be able to leave his fighting talk at the door?
Barry says: “Aggression is primal. Everyone has aggression and every boxer is born with aggression. Every fighter that has been a great fighter has had the ability to use that in a very special way.
“I pick things up slowly, especially things I have never done, and I’ve never had the inclination to start cooking. My only concern is that I will get angry and I don’t want to do that. Anyone who gets angry at someone else – it isn’t nice.” Read more & comment »
