ITV are reportedly planning to bid for new reality TV show The Voice, because they fear BBC could rival The X Factor if they land it.
It was reported last month that the Beeb were hoping to buy the rights to air the hit American series in the UK and that they were planning to ask both former X Factor judges Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue to join as mentors.
However, today it has been claimed that ITV are now frantically trying to get in on the act, believing that the format could be a real threat to their existing shows. Read more & comment »

We are desperately saddened by claims today that BBC are planning to axe So You Think You Can Dance.
The reality TV series is a huge hit in America and only last Wednesday night, was the most-watched prime-time program in the country.
However the format has not been so successful in the UK and insiders say that although the first series of the show was well received, the second series never took off properly and the BBC are not now planning to air a third. Read more & comment »

Robbie Williams has become the latest star to be linked with new BBC reality TV show, The Voice.
The Take That star would find himself in direct competition with his bandmate Gary Barlow if he takes the role, as the performer is hotly tipped to become Simon Cowell’s replacement on rival ITV show The X Factor.
It is thought that the ‘Let Me Entertain You’ hitmaker is set to join a panel consisting of ‘Someone Like You’ hitmaker Adele and former ‘X Factor’ judge Dannii Minogue for the British remake of the singing series.

Great news Dannii Minogue fans! The Australian star may be back on our screens sooner than anyone could have anticipated.
Dannii announced her decision to quit The X Factor just two days ago and already sources say she has lined up a new job, as judge on the UK version of The Voice, which is set to air on BBC.
Dannii left Simon Cowell’s talent show, because he rearranged this year’s audition dates to suit Take That’s Gary Barlow, meaning that they clashed with her Australia’s Got Talent filming schedule. 8 million people tuned in to watch the launch episode of the seventh Apprentice series on Tuesday night, it has been revealed.
The reality TV show, which is fronted by multi-millionaire buisinessman Lord Alan Sugar – gained 30.9 per cent of the viewing audience, with a peak of 8.4 million viewers.
Ratings were most definitely up for the format, as the show had an average of 7.8 million viewers, which is nearly 1 million up on the debut episode of series 6, which attracted 6.9 million and a 27 per cent share.

Strictly come dancing judge, Alisha Dixon, is reportedly in trouble with the bosses at the BBC over comments she has made regarding rival talent competition, X Factor, and has had her job threatened if she continues with talks with regards to her becoming a judge on it.
Alisha, who was part of girl group Mis-Teeq before winning Strictly Come Dancing and being given a job on the judging panel, reportedly commented that she though that the X Factor was more creative than Strictly, and since rumours have been in overdrive about the possibility of her filling the one remaining position on the judging panel for the show, along side close friend Gary Barlow, Loius Walsh and Danni Minogue. Romeo became the latest celebrity to be voted off ‘Dancing with the Stars last night.
The actor-and-rapper and his professional dance partner Chelsie Hightower found themselves in the bottom two alongside ‘Karate Kid’ star Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff before hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke told them it was time to leave.
Speaking about his performance of the tango and salsa on the show on Monday night, Romeo said: “We went out with a bang, you know. That’s the most fun I had in my life yesterday.

The Apprentice will return to BBC One in May, Lord Alan Sugar has confirmed.
The business guru is a avid Twitter user and took to the social networking site to reveal the details of the seventh series of his reality TV show.
The winner of the 2011 series will be awarded £250,000 from Lord Alan Sugar to set up a new business with him and viewers are told to expect more experienced individuals who aren’t as sales-driven as previous hopefuls.

The pressure is on as the amateurs arrive in the eating-out capital of the world, New York. With just 24 hours in the city they must prove they can cook with the best. Judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace send them to three of New York’s finest restaurants: Gramercy Tavern, one of the city’s most popular, long-standing dining institutions run by executive chef Michael Anthony; Picholine, a two-starred establishment under chef patron and master of Mediterranean cuisine, Terrance Brennan; and wd-50, a cutting-edge restaurant on the Lower East Side run by maverick chef Wylie Dufresne.
