Any Dream Will Do runners up, Lewis Bradley and Ben Ellis have both won major roles on the West End.

Lewis will share the role of Joseph with show winner, Lee Mead for one show a week, while Ben has landed a role on the West End Version of Hairspray.

Ben said:

“I am over the moon,” he said. “I can’t talk about exactly who I will be playing but it’s one of the main parts. This has been my dream and what I’ve worked towards for years.”

Elsewhere, second-placed Keith Jack, 19, is said to be busy working on a solo album, produced by X-Factor judge Louis Walsh

How Ben Ellis managed to get to the semi final of BBC’s reality show Any Dream Will Do baffles me. But thank the lord, he got booted out last night.

Lewis Bradley, Keith Jack and Lee Mead will now take part in the show’s final next week, the winner of which will take the lead role on a West End version of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

It’s back! The Unreality TV chart! This si where we give you the run down on the nights show and let you know who we thought was best and worst. Feel free to comment here or on the forum and let us know whether or not you agree.

1: Lee Mead: This week saw a return to form when Lee sang I think I’d Better Leave Right Now. It was an emotional performance and his vocals were impeccable. Lee has always been one of my favourites and tonight I could really see him on a West End stage.

2: Keith Jack: Keith has never been a favourite of mine to win the show but each week he seems to get better and better. Tonight he sang You Were Always On My Mind, and the tears in his eyes would suggest he meant every word. Emotional and heart breaking. I loved it.

3: Lewis Bradley: Lewis gave a very convincing performance of I’m A Believer tonight. Great vocals and a very lively performance.

4: Daniel Boys: The judges raved but I actually didn’t like the mean and moody Daniel tonight. His vocals were as good as always but I felt that he looked like he was in pain for parts of the song. Not a great look!

5: Craig Chalmers: Craig gave his best performance to date tonight and the judges loved it. Andrew thought he was phenomenal and I thought he really moved into the realm of musical theatre for the first time.

6: Ben Ellis: Ben gave a very lively performance tonight and his vocals were much improved from last week. I still see a big gap between him and some of the others and I don’t think he will go much further in this show, not least because of his attitude. And they said Seamus was arrogant!

7: Rob McVeigh: Rob left tonight and rightfully so. His vocals were flat at times, he shouted quite often and he looked uncomfortable. Rob has talent but I could never imagine him as Joseph. He should have left weeks ago.

Any Dream Will Do finalists, Lewis Bradley and Ben Ellis, have been friends since attending the Italia Conti drama school in London. But taking part in the BBC show has not helped their friendship. In fact if reports are to believed the rivalry between the pair is tearing their friendship apart.

A BBC1 insider told The People:
“In the beginning they stuck together like glue.

“Now they’re not even rehearsing within earshot of each other. It’s certainly very frosty between the pair.”

Lewis, 17, got upset after Denise Van Outen said his singing last week was “disappointing”.

Fellow judge John Barrowman then told him to “take note” from 18-year-old Ben.

Our source added: “Their friendship has definitely taken second place to their ambitions to win the role of Joseph.

“Lewis didn’t like being told to take a leaf out of Ben’s book. He wants to turn things around.”

Chris Crosby has become the first finalist to leave BBC’s Any Dream Will Do.

After a decent vocal performance of Maroon 5’s hit ‘This Love’, both Denise Van Outen and Andrew Lloyd Webber thought that Chris was too boyish and skinny to play Joseph and it seems as though their criticisms may have influenced the voters.

Chris ended up in the bottom two with Ben Ellis from Scarborough, and they were required to sing ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ together, before Lord Lloyd Webber used his casting vote to save Ben.

Ben Ellis, 18

A student originally from Scarborough and now living in Hackney, London.

Born in Scarborough, Ben moved to London at the age of 16 to pursue his dream of making it as an actor and singer.

He is now studying Musical Theatre at The Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts and says that he thinks he could be a “masculine and funny” Joseph who would bring energy to the part, but isn’t looking forward to wearing the sandals!

He auditioned in London and has found the experience “emotionally and mentally draining, but exciting at the same time.”
