This week, the housemates will be experiencing all things Italian, embracing the culture, the food, the fashion and the music.
Gelato – Dogface and Sree
As Italy is famed for its delicious desserts, Big Brother will require two housemates to run a 24-hour ‘Gelato’ ice-cream stand. Big Brother will place ice-cream orders throughout the duration of the task, via the ice cream phone which will ring with the tune “O Sole Mio” which housemates will need to complete and deliver to the Diary Room within a specified period of time in order to pass the task.
Posh Freddie Fisher finds himself up for eviction for the fourth time this week according to The Sun.
The newspaper reports that he has been nominated by his fellow housemates alongside creepy Sree Dasari.
Freddie has seen off the competition three times before now, and bookies are predicting that he will triumph again this Friday with Indian student Sree finding himself evicted instead.
Halfwit and Sophie received six nominations each and therefore face the first Big Brother eviction via the public vote on Friday 20 June.
Angel is the first up to give Big Brother her two nominations. First she nominates Dogface (Sophie), stating “She’s not so much entertaining – she’s quiet. I like her very much but because she’s young, and maybe it’s hard, she doesn’t have so much to say“. She then goes on to nominate Sophia saying “She’s very good – she can talk….but on a level of entertainment…she’s about one or two’.
Big Brother 1 winner Craig Phillips has claimed that Jade Goody was “a total nightmare”.
The pair lived together whilst appearing on the Five’s ‘Back To Reality’ in 2004 and Craig says he was often shocked by Jade’s behaviour.
“It was really sad what happened to Jade. In her last six months she did a lot of good work raising awareness of cervical cancer,” Phillips told Take 5 magazine.
Ex-Big Brother psychologist David Wilson has blasted Britain’s Got Talent for exploiting contestants.
In the Daily Mail, Wilson compared the ITV1 show to 18th century public executions.
“Rarely has a television show been more badly misnamed than Britain’s Got Talent,” he said. “The producers might like to pretend the programme is inspired by the quest for entertainment gold. But, in truth, the base metal of cynical exploitation lies at its heart.
Big Brother housemates reunite for E4’s Big Brother quiz tonight and admit that they all share a common bond.
Glyn Wise, Charley Uchea and Brian Belo admit that they are never stuck for conversation topics when they meet other former housemates, even ones that entered the house on different series.
“Obviously we go into the room and it’s like a topic of conversation ’so did you enjoy Big Brother?’” said Glyn, who was the runner up of Big Brother 7.
I find it more than a little weird that former Big Brother housemate Kemal would wait so long to try and capitalise on his ‘fame’ and release a single. However almost four years after he entered the infamous BB house, he has released a music single that is only slightly less ridiculous than the accompanying video.
Have a watch and I dare you to see if you can manage not to laugh or guffaw at the bad makeup job or strange caterwauling! It’s so bad its almost good!!
Big Brother bosses are said to be preparing a statement revealing that this summers Big Brother series will be the last.
BB auditions have been taking place all over the UK during the last few weeks and now those people chosen for the Channel 4 reality TV show may be the last housemates ever.
A show insider told the Daily Star: “Shortly after the Celebrity version of the show, key members of staff were told it was ‘highly unlikely’ to return.
“Everyone was disappointed but most people realise it has run its course.
Good evening everybody! It’s only been a few months since Big Brother last graced our screens, but tonight it returns, and we’re liveblogging the whole thing!
Davina’s live on stage outside the house right now, and she’s showing us parts of the housemates’ bodies! And now she’s in the bathroom, showing us around the place. She’s at pains to reminds us how the celebs don’t want us looking at them in the showers or toilets! You don’t know how bizarre it is to see Davina traipsing around the house – because we were there just a few days ago!
According to the Daily Star, BB9’s Rex Newmark and his girlfriend Nicole Cammack have split up.
Nicole, who surprised Rex by becoming a BB9 housemate is said to have been the one who called off their relationship.
“Everyone saw in the house that they can’t help but fight all the time,” a source told the newspaper, adding:
“It got more intense after the show and the rows were getting bigger and bigger until Nicole said enough was enough. She still cares for him but whether they remain friends is another matter altogether.” Read more & comment »
Researchers have said that a daily dose of reality TV helps bust stress and improve concentration according to The Sun. I knew there had to be a reason why I am such a laid back, easygoing, yet focused sort of person!
The newspaper reports that shows like Big Brother, X Factor and The Family (which I watch on an almost daily basis by the way!) were found to improve social interaction (it’s all that water cooler chat) and reduce stress levels.
The study also suggested that watching comedies helped people to feel more relaxed, but current affairs shows increased anxiety. A group of psychologists studied TV viewing habits for Virgin Media and concluded that viewers’ diet of programmes should be balanced just like food.
