Former Dancing On Ice contestant Bobby Davro has said that ITV would be “mad” to get rid of Jason Gardiner and revealed that he is much nicer man in real life, than he is on the show.

Speaking about Jason comparing Sharron Davies to ‘faecal matter’ Bobby told The Daily Star:

“I was there when Jason made those comments and I must admit that even I thought they were a bit harsh.”

“But that’s his role in the whole production that is Dancing On Ice.

“If you treat it as one big panto then Karen [Barber] would be the fairy godmother, Emma [Bunton] the princess and then you’ve got handsome princes Gary Lucy and Kieron Richardson in the contest. Jason would be the Wicked Queen or villain of the piece.

“Every good panto needs a baddie and he’s it. Off camera, he’s actually really nice. I have no reason to stick up for him but they’d be mad to get rid of him.”

Bobby Davro has become the first male contestant to be voted off ITV’s Dancing On Ice.

The comedian wasn’t as bad at skating as last year’s Todd Carty, but was just as entertaining so we were shocked to see him go.

Bobby found himself in the dance off with the delectable Gary Lucy. Gary could skate without wobbling, flip he could even lift his partner so it was a forgone conclusion that the judges would save him. And save him they did, unanimously!

Bobby Davro has admitted that he is nervous about how small his package will look, in the tight Dancing On Ice outfits.

“When you’re out there and it’s cold and you’re nervous, all your bits retreat,” he told The Mirror. “It looks much smaller than it really is. When you come off the ice you struggle to find the poor little thing. It’s quite warm and tucked up in there – it doesn’t want to come out. We’re all the same.

“I know they say women like men who make them laugh. Well, if they see me in the nude when I’m in training they’d definitely laugh.”

Davro also joked about his bald patch and moobs saying:

“I will only wear black because it’s slimming,” he added. “And my chest’s a bit wispy and grey so I put a bit of Just For Men down there. I’ve also asked wardrobe for a costume that hides my man boobs. Mine are bigger than some of the girls’.”

Former Eastenders star Bobby Davro, has reportedly been told to lose weight by Dancing on Ice bosses.

The comedian wrote on the social networking site Twitter: “Everyone a little jaded after Xmas Day celebrations. Start the diet today.

“Gotta lose half a stone by the first DOI show on the 10th Jan. Willpower required!”

Bobby Davro has reportedly signed up for Dancing On Ice 2010.

The TV comedian and former Eastenders actor is said to have started training for the show in Milton Keynes where he is also rehearsing for his Christmas panto.

An insider told The Sun: “Bobby is a well-known figure from his comedy days and built up a whole new fanbase on EastEnders.

“It will be great to see how he fares on the ice.”

The Daily Mail have went live with some great pictures today. The images show Bobby Davro, Tracy Shaw and Gary Lucy rehearsing for this years Dancing On Ice, and I wonder if it is a sign of things to come that only Gary seems to be able to skate without the aid of an expert?

The show will kick off late 2009 or early 2010, so it looks like these guys will have put in plenty of practice by the time their first performance comes around.
