Brian Dowling has admitted that he thinks Frankie Cocozza would be a great addition to Celebrity Big Brother this year.

The Big Bro host revealed that he would worry about the disgraced X Factor singer and his mental wellbeing if he took part in another reality TV show, however if he could overcome his demons Dowling thinks Frankie would be a ‘fascinating’ housemate.

In an interview with Digital Spy the Irish star admitted:

‘I just hope it’s something that Frankie is able to do. Not just physically and logistically, but mentally.

‘Obviously he’s had a tough time with the X Factor thing, but I think Frankie only ever really wanted to be famous. I don’t think he ever really cared about being a singer. So from that perspective, I could imagine him doing it.’

‘I think he’d be a great name to get in there. It just depends whether it is something he wants to do. He’ll be going from one great show to another and it will be fascinating to see him in the house… if it’s true.’

Cocozza was axed from The X Factor earlier this year, after it was revealed that he was consuming illegal drugs during a number of crazy parties.

He is said to have quit alcohol and drugs in anticipation of entering the Elstree house on Thursday night.

Celebrity Big brother is almost upon us and Channel 5 have released another great promo video teasing the new series.

The reality TV show will launch on the 5th of January and in the clip below, Brian Dowling is seen questioning an invisible Marcus Bentley about this year’s list of housemates.

Jedward and Amy Childs are featured as angels and emperor Brian asks Bentley whether the housemates will be “exciting”, “shameless” and “a proper celebrity”.

Bentley insists: “Of course they are.”

Brian Dowling has confirmed that there is a twist planned for tonight’s Celebrity Big Brother final.

The series – which was revamped for Channel 5 when it returned to our TV screens last month – will come to an end this evening during a two hour live special and in his last Celebrity BB online vlog, the Irish star admitted that bosses have planned a surprise for the viewers and contestants.

He wouldn’t reveal the twist but admitted that it will affect those taking part in normal Big Brother which starts tomorrow.

He said that his dress rehearsal for the episode went ‘quite well’ and revealed that he has his favourite for the top three housemates, but has no idea who will actually win.

Brian Dowling has admitted that he would love to bring “naked showers” back in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.

The BB presenter – who has proved many critics wrong and turned out to be a witty and talented replacement for Davina McCall on the reality TV series –
made the comments, as he was asked if he would ever date one of the housemates.

He confessed that he wouldn’t rule out having a relationship with a contestant, laughing:

“Never say never, especially if they’re 6ft 2in and stunning!

“I heard one of the most beautiful men in the world was going in to the house, so I want to be a cameraman and bring back naked showers!”

However, despite his recent career success, Brian confessed that his love life hasn’t had the same upturn and explained that he thinks this is because people he fancies never see him in a “sexy way”.

He added to OK! magazine: “I’ve never been successful with men. People say to me, ‘You’re famous and gay, you must get lots of sex!’

“But that never happened. I get into clubs, I get freebies, but the men, no! I started in kids’ telly, so they don’t see me in a sexy way!”

Brian Dowling has admitted that his mum isn’t quite sure exactly what he’s doing back on Celebrity Big brother.

The Irish star first won the reality TV show back in 2001 and then went on to triumph again in last year’s Ultimate Big Brother series. Tonight, he will debut as the host of the show, taking over the reins from former presenter Davina McCall. However, his mum thinks he is entering the house, as a contestant for the third time.

He told BANG Showbiz: “My mum just got Channel 5 installed in Ireland just to watch me, but she doesn’t understand how it works.

“Because I did ‘Ultimate’ she thinks I’m going back to live in the house again. She only thinks I’m famous if I’m on telly in Ireland. I’m like, ‘Mum, I’m not living in there anymore – I’ve done that twice. I’m the presenter now’.”

Although Dowling is nervous about taking over from his predecessor, he did explain that he thinks a new presenter and a new team, will help give the series a fresh feel and engage viewers once more.

He explained: “I bring to the table the fact that I’ve been in the house, I know how it works. I’m a fresh start, it’s nice to be able to bring about some changes they couldn’t have done before because of Davina.”

Brian Dowling has admitted that he is nervous about what former Big Brother presenter Davina McCall will think of his hosting style.

The Irish star will take over from the brunette beauty as presenter of the reality TV, when it relaunches on Channel 4 tomorrow night. He recently revealed that while Davina will always be ‘on hand’ to give him tips and advice, he is dreading her turning up at the complex to watch him at work.

He told BANG Showbiz: “Any queries at all, she’s on hand. But if she came down to the show I really would be so nervous. She’s a huge fan and has said she’ll be watching the show, which means she’ll be watching me.

“I’m terrified, but she picked me as her favourite housemate of all time, which is a real honour. It could be awkward if she’d said someone else.”

Brian also revealed that he won’t be turning to alcohol to calm his nerves on launch night, as it only serves to make him sleepy.

He added: “In the run-through I was so pre-occupied with my timings and everything but Davina just told me to enjoy it. People are very forgiving so as long as you look like you’re enjoying yourself.

“I am going to be nervous, but it’s live TV – you’d be crazy if you weren’t. I’ve got 10 years experience now but I do think no-one else has done this apart from Davina and it’s scary.

“Everyone keeps telling me to do a shot of whisky, but last time I did that I was on a date and fell asleep on the guy’s shoulder so I don’t think that’s a very good idea.”

Brian Dowling has claimed that he hasn’t yet been informed of who this year’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ housemates are.

The Irish star – who takes over from Davina McCall as host of the reality TV series when the show moves to Channel 5 tomorrow night – revealed yesterday that he isn’t yet sure of the full lineup for the series but thinks that the stars he has heard about, will make great TV.

Brian told BANG Showbiz: “I’m not going to lie, I haven’t heard of all the housemates. And then there’s the ones where you’re like, ‘Really?’ but they’re often the best ones.

“That’s when you get situations like George Galloway pretending to be a cat and getting Rula Lenska to feed him milk. Amazing.”

Dowling also said during an interview on ITV’s Lorraine that he will find out exactly who will be entering the house on Thursday morning, when he watches their entry VTs.

But he does have his own wish list and Brian admitted that he wants to see former princess Sarah Ferguson in the Big Brother house when it returns tomorrow.

He added: “Sarah Ferguson is my ideal housemate. You want to find out about the royal family, about her debts, what happened with Prince Andrew. She really would be an amazing housemate.”

When we heard that Kerry Katona and her mum Sue may be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house this week, our first thought was that we may end up with another Jade Goody situation.

The late Big Brother star re-entered the house with her mum Jackiey Budden in 2007 and became embroiled in a race row, after she was believed to be bullying Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty. The incident ruined her career and led to her becoming a national hate figure for a long time after her eviction.

It seems that the thought has crossed Brian Dowling’s mind too and speaking to Bang Showbiz he admitted that he dreads that sort of situation arising, because he isn’t sure he would handle it as well as previous series presenter Davina McCall.

He said: “My worst fear is that coming from nice, entertainment, funny television, I haven’t done anything like this before. So I’m absolutely dreading something like the Jade and Shilpa incident, which Davina handled really well.

“But I want to be able to settle in before I hit something as difficult and controversial as that. I’m dreading it.”

However, Brian claims he won’t be a softie with the housemates as they are evicted and insisted that he intends to ask more hard questions during their exit interviews, than his predecessor did.

He added: “It was hard for Davina to be tough with the housemates because when she did take a bit more of a tough line, people said she was being too hard.

“It doesn’t bother me though, so if I do it straight away and push the boundaries then people will get used to it. I’ll be doing it in a fun way though, I don’t want to make people upset – I just want to get the truth out and encourage people to explain themselves.”

Brian Dowling has admitted that he wants to see lots of nudity in this year’s Celebrity Big brother house.

The Irish star – who takes over presenting duties on the show when it relaunches on Channel 5 this Thursday – confessed that although he hates watching housemates getting jiggy with it on air, he has no objections to some free flying breasts or willies in the name of good TV viewing.

Explaining that he hates watching young contestants getting sexual on the show, Brian told Bang Showbiz:

“I want the housemates to have loads of fun but I don’t want them to be having sex on television. I just feel really uncomfortable about the whole thing.

“Especially if it’s a young girl who really loves someone who’s been really dreadful to her and then I have to tell her what he’s done. Get naked, get your t*ts out, but don’t do anything you’ll regret.”

Unreality TV took part in a tour of the BB house yesterday and after seeing the glass see through shower, a HUGE bath spacious enough for at least two people, a lavish bedroom and an outdoor shower, we knew that the chance of nudity in this series is high.

However, former ‘Big Brother’ contestant Glyn Wise thinks it’s all too bright and airy for anyone to get really carried away.

He explained: “When I was in the house, there were plenty of dark corners for people to do rude things in. Now it’s all open plan and it does look cool, but I don’t think the housemates will be able to find anywhere to hide.”

Brian Dowling has confessed that he thinks the new series of Big Brother will be one of the sexiest yet.

The Irish star, who was recently announced as the new host of the returning reality TV show, has claimed that the huge pool and ready supply of alcohol will lead to some seriously raunchy behaviour from the new batch of housemates, though he confessed that he personally doesn’t want to watch anyone actually doing the dirty on air.

Dowling – who shot to fame when he won an earlier Big Brother series in 2001, as well as ‘Ultimate Big Brother’ in 2010 – laughed that he is expecting to see lots of ‘breasts’ on screen, explaining:

“There’s a pool in there, so people are going to drink, they’re going to get in and there will be breasts flying about.

“And they’ll have sex – but I don’t want people to have sex in the house. I’d be quite annoyed if they did – I’m not sure how I’d handle it.”

Speaking about rumours surrounding which stars have signed up for the Celebrity version of the show, which launches next week. Brian admitted that he would love it if X Factor stars Jedward did enter the house and thinks that Kerry Katona and her druggie mum would make TV gold. He added to Closer magazine:

“I’d love to see Jedward in there and I pray Kerry Katona is on the show with her mother – that woman makes great television.

“Can you imagine Kerry Katona’s mum with Jedward? It’s all going to kick off!”

Yeah, we can see that. Jedward may be clean living and will most likely refuse all alcohol on offer, but even sober the twins are probably two of the most irritating people on this earth and grumpy Sue is not known for her patience!
