It was confirmed last weekend that BBC bosses have adjusted their schedule and will now air the first live episode of The Voice on a Friday, instead of having it clash with the Britain’s Got Talent final and at least one person approves of their decision.
It was thought that viewers would have to choose yet again between the two reality TV shows but now fans will be able to watch both offerings and Holden thinks it was a wise move.

Maarty Broekman has admitted that Alesha Dixon is by far his favourite Britain’s Got Talent judge.
The Dutch (Ssssh don’t tell The Queen) singer was featured on Saturday night’s episode of the show, singing his very own song ‘Backdoor Lover’, which was inspired by a secret girlfriend apparently.

Earlier today I met up with the charming Maarty Broekman, who won the hearts of the nation with his hilarious Britain’s Got Talent audition…
But as viewers will recall, though Maarty had the judges in stitches, and received a ‘Yes’ from Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams, Mr Mean Simon Cowell was rather less impressed with Maarty nutty efforts!
However, Maarty – in whose company one feels, happily I might add, as though you’ve strayed into some kind of acid fuelled wonderland – has vowed that he’s going to win tough nut Simon over. Read more & comment »

Earlier today, I met with stunning Britain’s Got Talent singer Aliki Chrysochou, who of course wowed the judges and the audience with her audition, which aired last Saturday.
And while at BGT headquarters, I asked Aliki about her unusual name, and she explained, “It’s Greek; it’s a Greek name.
“My father’s family is from the Greek island of Symi, and when he and my mother went on their honeymoon, they stayed in a hotel that was called Aliki.
“My mum liked the name so…” Read more & comment »

Today, we met up with zany Britain’s Got Talent star Maarty Broekman, who as fans of the show will know managed to win three yeses from the judges after his audition in which he sang his own track, Backdoor Lover…
He of course also played along on his keytar, and, having seen it, I can tell you is an impressive piece of equipment! However, I didn’t dare touch it, despite the fact Maarty is currently imploring fans to ‘Touch My Joy’ – his joy, not mine – but given that a lady never tells, I cannot reveal if I touched any joy or not… Read more & comment »

Today, I met with gorgeous Britain’s Got Talent sensation Aliki Chrysochou, who of course moved the judges and the audience to tears with her classical rendition of Evanescence’s hit track, Wake Me Up/Bring Me To Life…
Which, given that we heard how Aliki had become the victim of crippling disease Focal Encephalitis – a rare inflammatory neurological disease – was a song with special meaning for her.
During Aliki’s audition, we heard her explain that the illness meant she could do nothing for herself, and throughout, her loving and supportive parents did everything for her, from feeding her to bathing her. Read more & comment »

Steve Hewlett has insisted that a ventriloquist could win this year’s series of Britain’s Got Talent, because he thinks the old style entertainment act is ‘coming back’ in popularity.
The 38 year old hopeful was featured on Saturday night’s episode of the ITV show and after he impressed the judges with his puppet Arthur Lager, Alesha Dixon raved:
“I thought the act was fantastic from start to finish. Brilliant.”

Simon Cowell really is getting the hang of this whole Twitter thing isn’t he.
Every now and again the X Factor boss comes online and has a bit of a spree on the social networking site and this morning he used it to offer some advice for hopeful auditionees.
