StyleJacking and Unreality were invited to the press launch of Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model (or BINTM). The first episode was really enjoyable, even apart from the amazing goody bag that our StyleJacking editor received!
It is the seventh series of the show which seeks to find a girl to take the crown of Top Model. The lucky lady will win:
The supermodel with over 30 years industry experience is supported by three regular judges, designer Julien Macdonald, stylist to the stars Grace Woodward and male model Charlie Speed. Fearne Cotton narrates the show.
Although the judges are great and seem to have a fun dynamic, during the press launch it was revealed that Elle really wants Lilly Cole to be a judge on the show – Lilly has just received a double first from Cambridge as well as having a successful modelling career!
There is a definite change in structure and focus for Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Modelin its seventh season. The show has more of an air of glitz and glamour than previous series and there is much more of a focus on the personalities of the girls. This is what we call the X Factor factor!

Britain’s Next Top Model is back! But the show has been rebranded Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model which is technically correct but a bit of a mouthful really!
It is the seventh series of the show which seeks to find a girl to take the Top Model crown although this year brings something slightly different. For one thing the judges leave the studio for roadshows in six cities in an attempt to find the face of Britain.

Producer Marty Redman of Thumbs Up Productions told The Sun: “It feels like older women have been getting some stick recently with the ageism rows over Arlene Phillips and newsreaders.
Supermodel Lisa Snowdon and contestants from Britain’s Next Top Model ( starting tonight on LIVING at 9pm) strutted their stuff in Regents Park and Oxford Street this week to celebrate the launch of the new series.
The models were wearing outfits made only from supermarket and high street plastic bags, by up and coming designer Ziad Ghanem.
Bigger and bolder than ever, the brand new fourth series of Britain’s Next Top Model struts onto LIVING this week. Once again, the team are hunting for the next catwalk queen, with 14 girls ready to battle it out for the prizes of being the face of a cosmetics campaign, a spread in a glossy magazine and a modelling contract. Model Lisa Snowdon hosts the show, joined by new judges contributing editor to Tatler magazine Gerry Deveaux, and Icelandic model-turned- photographer Huggy Ragnarsson.
As seasoned fans will know, the show is not just about pouting and posing – there’s also the gloriously entertaining bitching and backstabbing to enjoy too. The girls waste no time in throwing down the gauntlet this series – the start of the show sees Stefanie declare: “I’m gonna stop at nothing to get what I want”, while Alex announces: “I’m going to win BNTM because there’s nothing I won’t do to achieve it.” However, the hopefuls’ cockiness is short-lived when Lisa reveals their first task – they must sell themselves to an auditorium full of industry professionals. While some of them shine, others fall flat. Read more & comment »
