Bruno Tonioli has admitted that he has discussed the possibility of working with Simon Cowell with the X Factor boss.

The music mogul has already poached one judge from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing this year and after the departure of Alesha Dixon – who recently moved from Strictly to Britain’s Got Talent – Bruno confessed that he may go the same way eventually.

The dance expert, who has been close friends with the SYCO boss for a number of years, told the Daily Mail:

“Simon likes Strictly so much he’d buy it if he could and his mum loves it too, which doesn’t help. He’s asked me about things. I can’t exclude the possibility. It would be great to do something with him, but it has to be the right thing.”

On Simon’s move to steal Alesha away from the BBC series, Tonioli confessed that he was shocked and slightly upset that his friend didn’t tell him what he was planning.

He added:

“Oh, that was sneaky. I should have known because I know Simon very well. He should have told me. It wasn’t a shock. I had a laugh with Alesha so I have no problems. It’s her decision and nothing to do with me.”

When asked what tempted Dixon to leave the BBC for it’s rival channel, Bruno added:

“Only she knows but it’s probably something to do with lots and lots of money. I do Strictly for love, not money. You can’t compare our salaries to The X Factor judges’ because the BBC would never pay that.”

Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli admitted that he had one stand out favourite in this year’s series of the BBC dance show.

The Italian expert may love the fancy footwork of Harry Judd and the wonderful waltzing of Jason Donovan but what he really wants to see on tomorrow’s final, is some of Russell Grant’s hilarity.

He told The Sun’s TV Buzz:

“You couldn’t have asked for more from him.”

He explained:

“Russell’s dances with Flavia were like Pandora’s Box – a never ending sequence of things that could have been disastrous. But he turned out to be the funniest competitor we’ve ever had.”

Bruno does have a bit of a soft spot for another recently eliminated star and added:

“Alex [Jones] has been the great surprise of this year’s competition. Through the course of the show, Alex improved the most.”

The finale will be an exciting one!

Brucie is sure to make everyone’s Saturday knight this weekend as he makes his debut as Sir Bruce Forsyth after being knighted by the Queen’s earlier this week.

The famous pensioner will take to the stage to host Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday and speaking about his new title, Bruno Tonioli told Buzz magazine:

‘It makes us feel like we’re mixing with Royalty!’

He added:

‘I’m so delighted for Bruce, he’s a National Treasure’.

But Bruno hopes there could be more invitations from the palace coming soon, predicting that a certain member of the judges’ desk will make a future Honours list.

‘Maybe Len Goodman could be next, since he’s the oldest.’ said Bruno. ‘But we’ve already got a couple of queens on the panel.’

That Nancy Dell’Olio is a fiery character!

The Italian lawyer is reportedly threatening to sue ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Bruno Tonioli, after he slated her performance on last week’s like show.

The star commented that the brunette beauty looked like she may have drank “two gallons” of champagne before taking to the stage with Anton DuBeke on Saturday and she has taken massive offence at his insinuation.

She claims that in fact her poor performance was due to a torn ligament that she sustained during rehearsals and speaking to the Daily Mail, a friend of Nancy’s blasted:

“She was having trouble walking and her leg was in real pain – but she thought the show must go on, so took to the floor.

“To then have Bruno accuse her of being drunk, she found very upsetting. She has considered legal action – but everyone’s been calming her down.”

However, BBC One bosses have insisted Bruno did not mean to cause offence with his cheeky comments.

A BBC spokesperson said: “The judges always look to give constructive criticism to all of our dancers and this is often delivered with humour, given that ‘Strictly’ is an entertainment show.

“Bruno’s comments were tongue in cheek and not meant to cause offence.”

Strictly Come Dancing is back this weekend and its hotter than ever!

Show judge Bruno Tonioli is ready and waiting for the class of 2011 and said that the stars should be ready for a rough ride. He told Buzz magazine:

“After all the years Strictly has been on, the celebrities should know exactly what they’re letting themselves in for!”

“They know that we are going to say and what we think.”

The Italian stallion also confessed that does tune in to ITV rival, The X factor and is a fan of the new judging panel. In fact he is not missing a certain Mr Cowell one bit and said:

“Simon Cowell must be delighted with the new panel!”

“Kelly and Tulisa have been doing a great job and I love Gary. I must admit I haven’t missed Simon at all!”

Simon will love that!

Although the tough-talking panellists will of course have to exchange opinions when the BBC One show returns to TV screens next month, Len says has no interest in chatting to Bruno when the cameras stop rolling.

The bickering pair – who are joined on the panel by judges Craig Revel Horwood and Alesha Dixon – take an 11 hour-flight to Los Angeles every Saturday to shoot US series ‘Dancing with the Stars’ before returning to the UK days later, and Len wants some time to himself between the shows.

A source told the Daily Star, “Len has told Bruno he has to keep quiet throughout the flight…

“Bruno gets very excited and animated and Len won’t get any peace and quiet unless his co-star keeps his mouth shut. It’s going to be a tough challenge.”

Celebrities tipped to be taking part in this year’s series – which will once again by hosted by Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly – include ‘The One Show’ presenter Alex Jones, former ‘EastEnders’ star Anita Dobson, ex-footballer Robbie Savage and astrologer Russell Grant.

Bruno Tonioli has certainly set his sights high for the next Strictly Come Dancing series.

The Italian stallion will be back on the reality TV panel, ready to judge dancing celebrities when the show returns to BBC One this autumn and on which stars he’d like to see in the lineup, Bruno told The Mirror that she wants some near royalty and the nation’s tabloid princess.

He said:

“I think Pippa Middleton would be a great booking for Strictly. That bum would look very sexual in a nice slinky dress. I can see her doing a slinky rumba. Maybe Cheryl Cole should do it too, she’s free now. Kimberley from Girls Aloud – she’s got ­personality and can give back.”

Brendan Cole wants a bit of Pippa’s rear end magic too and recently admitted that he’d love to partner Kate Middleton’s sister if she competed in the series.

However Erin Boag wants true royalty on the Beeb and confessed that she’d love to dance alongside carrot topped hunk Prince Harry.

Joe Calzaghe has claimed that the judges comments on Strictly Come Dancing are a form of bullying.

The boxing champion competed on the BBC reality TV series in 2009 and was partnered by his now girlfriend Kristina Rihanoff. He had two left feet and no timing and was regularly criticised by the panel on the weekly Saturday night show.

Hitting out at Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Alesha Dixon and their treatment of him during his five week stint, Joe told The Daily Mail:

“Strictly was a form of bullying. It’s part of the pantomime and who better to pick on than a world champion? I kept my composure but to me it was destructive criticism, not constructive.

“Len Goodman was great. [He is] the one guy on that panel who actually knows what he’s talking about.”

Contrary to popular belief, Joe claims that he did try hard on the show and dreaded the weekend performances. He added:

‘I tried so hard to be good at it, but I struggled.’

‘Come Saturday night I just froze. I’ve never been so nervous in my life. I felt sick with nerves. It was easier to go in the boxing ring than the dance floor and that’s the honest to God truth.’

But something good did come from the experience. Joe continued:

‘I’m still happy I did it because I met Kristina. I fancied her from the start. We began dating about the second or third week of the show, but we’d been dancing together six weeks before that. You’re with each other every day, training five or six hours a day, then I’d take her for something to eat or a coffee.

‘We had a lot in common. She started dancing at a young age and I started boxing at nine. We got on really, really well as friends so it was cool when we just gelled. I really wanted to do well for her. She was so frustrated with me because I was so much better in training.

‘Come the live show and she’d say, “Oh Joe, come back to me. What’s wrong?” She could see the nerves kick in. I’d stiffen up and become scared. But that’s what happens when you’re petrified. I was so in control of what I did in my world – the fight. So cool. So calm. Suddenly you’re doing a dancing show and you’re so afraid.

‘You have to look at yourself and think, “Why am I like this? Why am I so uptight? It’s just a bit of TV. Look at Ann Widdecombe. She looks ridiculous but she loves it. Go on. Just have fun.” It helped me to realise the boxing was over – that that chapter was closed. I had to learn to let myself go, not be so self-conscious. Expose my true self.’

Gavin Henson’s cheeky smooch with Bruno Tonioli on Saturday night’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has sparked almost 80 viewer complaints.

The Welsh rugby star planted a huge kiss on the judge’s lips at the start of his routine and while Bruno was thrilled, some viewers felt it was inappropriate and took to the internet to vent their fury.

One wrote: “I found the kiss totally wrong. Let’s not forget it’s supposed to be a family show.”

However, a spokeswoman for the BBC One show defended the smooch, saying it was just a bit of harmless fun.

She said: “‘Strictly’ is an entertainment show and Gavin included the kiss to add humour to their quickstep – a dance that is known for being fun and cheeky.

“In the same way Patsy Kensit kissed Len Goodman a few weeks ago, Gavin was clearly overcome with affection for Bruno and couldn’t resist.”

Meanwhile, Gavin’s fellow contestant Ann Widdecombe has injured her dance partner Anton De Beke by treading on his toe during their routine on Saturday night.

The former Conservative minister said: “I am a clodhopper.”

However, Anton is expected to be fit for this week’s show.

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Gavin Henson set hearts racing on Saturday night’s live show, when he lunged at judge Bruno Tonioli and planted a smacker on him.

The rugby star was dancing the quickstep with his partner Katya Virshilas, when he took a second to jump on the desk and show some love to the Italian expert.

It worked – Bruno gave him a gushing review of the dance and a mark of nine for his efforts! Check out the video clip below.
