Michael Vaughan admitted that he was worried about his samba before he took to the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor this evening.
The cricket star generally struggles with the Latin dances more than he does the ballroom ones and this week he has put in hours and ours more training as he tried to perfect the fast paced routine.

Olympic champion Victoria Pendleton took her cycling to a new level last week in Strictly Come Dancing, as she rode a BMX down from the sky before taking to the Wembley dance floor with Professional partner, Brendan Cole, to perform a Passo Doble like no other to a seventies themed routine.
Their scores came in as 5,6,7,6 and whilst Bruno Tonioli said he felt the couple were overwhelmed by the space and Darcey Bussell’s commented that they seemed to lose focus, here is what the couple in question thought of last week’s performance.

It seems that cricket legend Shane Warne was left furious when Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli made a catty remark about him recently…
It all began when Bruno said of contestant Michael Vaughan’s “wooden” waltz last week, “You looked like Shane Warne after the makeover.”
TV Biz reports that after Bruno’s bitchy remark, former England cricket captain Michael said, “Warney was straight on the phone after that comment.
“He said, ‘Pot, kettle. Bruno’s forehead hasn’t moved in seven years.’
“I told him I’d relay the message.
“Shane is in Australia now but if I’m still here in November he’ll definitely come to watch the show… Read more & comment »

Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli is of course known for being brutally honest, with the emphasis on ‘brutal’ and his remarks about the departure of former judge Alesha Dixon have proved to be predictably blunt!
Alesha of course left the show to take up a role on the judges’ bench at Britain’s Got Talent.
Of her departure, Bruno said, “I’m not disappointed Alesha has left. That is show business.
“People make decision and good luck to them.”
However, he seems a good deal more positive when it comes to his opinion of new judge Darcey Bussell, who’s promised to be “harsh” in her judging on SCD… Read more & comment »

Strictly Come Dancing kicked off on BBC One this evening and Len Goodman seems pretty psyched about this year’s lineup.
The head judge revealed that he was elated with the producers choices of contestant and told Bruce Forsyth:
“Last year I thought we had a great line up, but this is the first time, I’ll be honest, this is the first time I’ve knew every single one of the celebrities. I knew them all. Normally I’m thinking ‘who’s that?’, but no, I know them all. And, you know… what’s great? We’ve got hunky dunky blokes and gorgeous girls… It’s a buffet of delight and I can’t wait for the 5th October. Come on!”

Never a one for being backward when it comes to being forward, Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has predicted that Westlife singer Nicky Byrne will be the first celeb to be voted off this year’s show.
Speaking to TV Biz, he said of Nicky, “He may bring a little bit of beauty and charm but can he move those legs?
“Westlife were only famous for sitting on stools.”
However, Craig added that the show has a “fantastic” line-up this year, and he thinks that Texan model Jerry Hall will be a surprise hit with viewers.
