Calum Best Loves Working On Reality Show ‘The Best Is Yet To Come’

Calum Best’s new reality TV show is due to kick off this weekend on MTV (see the trailer here) and Calum has revealed why he decided to take part in the show.

“I know what people thought of me. No-one took me seriously,” Calum told the Daily Star. “Frankly, the last two years are a bit of a blur. I’d lost my way. I was on a downward spiral.

“I was lucky. I had a choice. Either I could have the kind of summer I usually have – drinking, shagging, wondering where the time went – or I could do something about it. So I decided to grab this show as a life line.”

Calum is now half way through his 50 day challenge and is already reaping the rewards. Read more & comment »

Calum Best To Get His Own Reality TV Show

Calum Best

Serial womaniser, Calum Best is to become the next D list celebrity to attempt to find love through a reality TV show.

Calum has signed with MTV to produce a show similar to Jodie Marsh’s in which he hopes to find a long term girlfriend.

“He has had enough of s***ing around. He is really keen on appearing on this show, which he thinks will be great fun and will help him to find the girl of his dreams,” a source told the Daily Star Sunday.

“It is rumoured to be appearing on ITV2 and will feature scenes including Calum taking the girl of his choice to meet his mum Angie.”

We know that Calum is renowned for his looks and not his brains, but if he had any sense at all, he would steer well clear of shows like this. Look what happened to Jodie Marsh when she married the man of her reality TV dreams!

Love Island: Bianca Gascoigne Is Torn Between Two Lovers

Love Island winner Bianca Gascoigne said she is torn between fellow Love Island contestants Calum Best, 25, and The Streets singer 29-year-old Leo Ihenacho.

She has also described how growing up amid domestic violence at the hands of her stepdad, Paul, has affected her, and how she turned to comfort eating on the island.

Speaking about Calum, she said: “I’ve always fancied him. I couldn’t believe my luck when he turned up on the island. He’s my dream man!

“We went out as friends. We get on well. I have admitted it’s a lust thing with Calum – I won’t deny that.

“I love a bad boy. But I do genuinely think he wants to get rid of that tag. He really wants to find someone to have a proper relationship with.”

However, she also admitted she still has feelings for Leo. She said: “Leo’s got a great sense of humour and a great sense of life and other people. He’s lovely.

“When I left, we were on the phone every day, but this last week we didn’t speak and I didn’t know what was going on. But then he called me yesterday to say he liked some pictures of me he had seen on a magazine. That was nice.

“I love them both.”

However, she says she isn’t in a hurry to get into a new relationship. She said: “I’m happy for now. I’ve been single since February and that’s a big step for me as I’ve always needed a boyfriend. I used to be really needy, but now I’m having fun being single.”

She also spoke about her turbulent relationship with her stepdad Gazza. Describing his violent marriage to her mother, she said: “The things I’ve gone through in life have affected me, and made me the person I am.

“I texted him last week because he phoned my mum. She was upset after the horrible things he’d said in the papers, but he told her he was proud of me, so I texted him to say thanks.

“The man I call ‘dad’ publicly disowned me. I’m just getting on with life.”

Talking to New! magazine about her time on Love Island, she said that the other girls’ comments about her weight had upset her.

She said: “I’ve got weight issues, and the comments brought back memories of me being a chubby child. It also made people on the island focus on my weight, which I didn’t want. But I was comfort eating a lot out there.

“It was a stressful situation and I missed my mum a lot.”

The former fashion buyer also spoke about her hopes for the future since winning Love Island, and has said she would like to move into music.

She said: “I’ve had two offers for presenting work, which is exciting. But I’m also passionate about singing and some music producers have been in touch. Hopefully I will be recording some material soon.

“I’d like to make music like Beyonce’s. I’m very ambitious. I wouldn’t be happy with just a number one single. I’d want a number on album.”

However, she has denied that she would like to follow Calum’s example and move into modelling.

She said: “I did a shoot for a men’s mag recently. I was nervous because of my weight gain, but I liked the end result. I don’t want to be a glamour girl though.”

Love Island: Calum Best Keen To Settle Down and Have A Family

Love Island winner Calum Best has today revealed that he is keen to fall in love, get married and start a family any time soon.

“I’ve got this playboy image which I don’t mind running with, and I don’t really do much to make people think otherwise,” he told Celebs on Sunday. “But just because I’ve had a couple of years sowing my oats doesn’t mean I’m going to be single my whole life.

“When it’s time for me to settle down, and I’ve found the right person, I’ll put in 100%. Do I want kids? For sure. I haven’t planned when – but of course I do.”

Calum Fran and Dangerous Danan

Its like a Love Island Reunion! The three previous Love Island contestants, Fran Cosgrove, Calum Best and Paul Danan have made a new reality show for ITV2, which is due to kick off next week.

ITV report:

In this 4 part series Calum Best, Fran Cosgrave and Paul Danan take the roadtrip of a lifetime along America’s most famous road – Route 66. The boys must travel 1200 miles from Amarillo, Texas to Santa Monica pier in LA. But it’s not that easy – their accomodation is paid for, but they only have 50 dollars each and the rest of the money for food, petrol and fun they have to earn along the way.

If nothing else it should be worth watching just to ogle Calum and Fran, I think I’ll probably be reduced to throwing beer bottles at the TVin a bid to make Paul Danan go away though!

The show starts at 9:00pm, Thursday September 14.

Who Will Be In This Years ‘I’m A Celebrity’?

Rumours are circulating and various celebrities have allegedly signed up for the show, they include Rachel Stevens, Michelle Marsh, ex-Blue singer Lee Ryan, David Gest and Calum Best. They are all rumoured to be jetting off down under with Ant and Dec as they present the sixth series in November.

Love Island: Calum Best and Chris Brosnan Kicked Off Flight!

Love Island winner Calum Best and runner up Chris Brosnan were yesterday kicked off their Fiji to London flight in Los Angeles.

Fuelled by two bottles of bourbon the pair became rowdy and disruptive while aboard the long haul flight and managed to upset both crew and passengers.

An insider said: “They’ve been celebrating Calum’s win on the show since Monday and continued on the flight. They were knocking back booze like nobody’s business.

“They were loud and obnoxious. The cabin crew and passengers were getting fed up with them. They may have seen it as high jinks but not everyone was laughing.

The Love Island producers refused to pay for their new plane tickets to London, but somehow I don’t think the boys will be bothered!
