Castaway winner, Jonathan Shearer has placed an advertisement in a magazine begging for someone to give him something exciting to do.
Shearer reveals that he is on the dole only six months after winning the reality TV show, and is bored out of his mind!
The advert, which is linked to Shearer’s MySpace page, reads: “I am bored. I am on the dole. I see nothing on my horizon. Someone, somewhere has something interesting for me to do. I have created these pages to try to find myself a ‘job’, or a ‘wife’ or a ‘project’ or anything to get me excited about life again.”
Come on there must be someone that wants to work with a rude arrogant, but actually quite amusing man, out there!

Danny Wallace, presenter of BBC reality TV show Castaway, has spoken to Hot Stars magazine about why he thinks the show flopped.
“I wanted to do it because it was three months on a beautiful island and I got paid,” Danny told Hot Stars magazine. “If something sounds fun then I’m there.
“People are used to reality shows every night and I think Castaway being on once a week was a bit strange. Once the show was put on three times a week, the ratings improved, but it was too late. Some things catch on, some don’t.”

Jason Ross, the unemployed, recovering drug addict, has become the first person to be voted off Castaway 2007.
The Castaway’s were asked to vote for the person who had gotten the LEAST out of their Castaway experience, they had a week to consider their decision.
The group was split, with everyone voting for either Jonathan or Jason. However in the final vote, Lucinda changed her mind at the last minute, changing the final result and sending Jason home.
The relief in our living room was palpable. Both hubby and I agree that Jonathan should remain in Castaway until the last week. I wouldn’t want to live with him, but he is interesting to watch, he makes great TV!

Jason Ross just got back and all of a sudden it’s time for some more Castaways to be sent to isolation!
This week the group were split into their two camps (East wing and West wing) and made to vote on who they thought was getting the least out of their Castaway experience.
After many disagreements and arguments (most of them coming from Jonathan!) the two Castaways chosen were Occupational Therapist, Joe Chicken and Margaret Thatcher wannabe, Clare Hilley.
I think the two will hit it off this week, and you never know, it might just end up being our first Castaway romance!

Matt Williams, husband of Erica Hurst is trying desperately to be given a place on the BBC’s Castaway team, inn order to be reunited with his new wife.
The pair were married only a matter of weeks before Erica jetted off to the other side of the world to take aprt in the BBC’s newest reality TV show. Matt has now formally nominated himself with a Radio 1 competition to join the 14 other castaways on New Zealand’s Great Barrier Island this week.
The nightclub security manager from Lostock is hoping to make a shortlist from which the station’s listeners will vote one person onto the show next month.
If the ratings keep slipping, BBC might just find this is the twist they need to bring the viewers back.

After being sent into isolation for a whole week, BBC has reported today that unemployed, Kent man, Jason Ross is at the end of his tether and wondering if he can cope with his new situation.
The Castaway website reports:
All he wants is to “get off this damn island”. The wind is starting to kick in, he’s pulled up the door to his shack but it’s still desperately miserable and getting worse.
Can’t say that I blame Jason. Being alone for a long period of time is bad enough, but when you are confined to a run down shack in the middle of a storm that just keeps getting worse, I can’t imagine that optimism would be easy.

I read today that viewing figures have plummeted for BBC One’s newest reality show Castaway, and I am shocked and perturbed.
I am a definite Castaway addict. I find it so refreshing to watch a reality TV show that doesn’t contain a cast of cartoon characters, and ones that have actual tasks of practical importance.
I started this series as a Danny Wallace virgin, and in the two shows I have seen and also my daily dose of Danny’s Diary, I am now a complete and utter 100% Danny fan. He looks great in front of a camera, is funny without being smarmy and last but not least….he’s not Patrick Kielty.
Come on people give it a go……in no time at all you’ll be an addict like sad old me!

Castaway crew members were left a bit wet and soggy today when a boat they were traveling in capsized and ruined a load of expensive equipment. The crew had urged local people to stay away from the area they are using for the show, but were glad of their help when two local fishermen came to their aid.
“They were out in a dingy and it suddenly shot up in the air, flipped backwards and went upside-down,” one of the fishermen told New Zealand’s Sunday News.
“I notified marine radio and went to see if I could help. They were fine but I think they lost a lot of equipment,” he said.
“There were oars, cellphones and all sorts floating in the water.”
Oops!

Today on Danny’s TV Diary you can see Jonathan Shearer on the warpath.
He knows there is a traitor (or two) in their midst, and can’t believe that after the group agreed not to vote for the person who had contributed least, many cracked and many voted for Jason Ross. Jason has now been sent into isolation for a week and his mate is FURIOUS!
The first person to incur his wrath was Alister Cooling the fantasy writer. Alister stupidly admitted to Jonathan that he didn’t crack under pressure but simply wanted to nominate Jason as he believed it was the right thing to do.
Bad move. We have already seen how Jonathan can hold a grudge, and this is now escalating into a major grudge. Jonathan has now branded Al as group traitor, leaving all those who similarly voted for Jason quaking in their boots…..Makes great TV doesn’t it!

Last night saw Castaway, Erica Hurst boast to her companions about some of her steamy explouts, out in the real world.
She said: “I was in Brazil and my boyfriend wanted a threesome. He said to pick a woman.
“One came over and she was lovely. Then another one came over and she was lovely too so we took them both.”
Shy girl that Erica!

Erica Hurst must really be a woman in love. Not only did she give up her lucrative career in lap dancing because her husband wasn’t happy with her job, but on tonights show we saw her pass up the opportunity to swim with dolphins as she had promised her husband she would keep herself covered up.
Erica was still officially on honeymoon when she packed her bags for the Castaway island. Her husband Matt admits:
“While she’s watching the sun set on an exotic island, I’ll be working on the door of a nightclub in Lancaster,” he smiles. “I already miss her like crazy. We only wed four weeks ago. To see her jet off for a quarter of a year on a TV reality show is a complete killer.
“But I know she won’t do anything – otherwise she wouldn’t have married me, would she? I trust her and she trusts me. And at least I can watch her on TV.”
