The paper adds that the show will most likely air on Channel 4.

A source close to the story told the paper, “The project was originally inspired by a website called seekingarrangement.com, which is billed as ‘the premier Sugar Daddy dating site’.

“It provides an opportunity for rich businessmen to offer ‘financial assistance’ to single and attractive girls in exchange for their company.”

The programme is apparently to be based around five girls, one of which will be Helen, who are seeking such arrangements.

The source added, “A pilot has been made and the programme makers are now in extensive talks with Channel 4, who appear very likely to take it on board.

“They feel that with the headlines that Helen created from her work as an escort girl, she is perfect to be the face of the new programme.”

And a Channel 4 spokesman said, “There’s a media debate about high-profile personalities being unfaithful.

“We’re looking at a number of ideas to get a glimpse into the lives of the women involved.”

Channel 4 are reportedly planning a new series of Shipwrecked.

The reality TV show, which aired on the channel’s youth brand T4 from 2000 to 2001 and then from 2006 to 2009, is set to return later this year but will have a slightly different format to previous series’.

It will no longer be Shipwrecked: Battle of the Islands, which featured two teams competing with each other for new members, with the largest team winning a cash prize at the end.

A source told The Sun: “In these miserable economic times it’s important people can watch young hot-bodied wannabes stripped half-naked on a beach in the sun.

“Obviously people will still be voted off if they annoy people.

“But we’re glad it’s coming back as you don’t get many good-looking people on Britain’s Got Talent.”

Having watched the powerful premiere of Katie: My Beautiful Friends on Channel 4 last night – once I’d dried my eyes – I sat down to compose this review.

And what I wanted more than anything was to avoid using clichés that might detract from the true value of this film.

I’d hoped I wouldn’t write hackneyed phrases such as ‘triumph over adversity’ and employ overused adjectives that could potentially imply condescension, such as, inspirational, courageous, touching, heartbreaking…

But the fact is, those words are itching to spill forth from my virtual pen, and won’t be denied because Katie and her Beautiful Friends are all these things.

Similarly, I baulked at using that old chestnut about beauty being only skin deep, but as Katie has demonstrated, with a tenacity and elegance that one can only be in awe of, beauty can, and has, transcended the depleted depth of her terribly damaged skin.

While we watched Katie struggling to cope with the demands of launching her charity alongside her ongoing treatments, and meeting others who have disfiguring illnesses or scars, what struck me most was Katie’s seemingly irrepressible good cheer…

How far she’s come from the justifiably frightened, vulnerable little girl we first met back in 2009, when, one year on from the acid attack that stole more than her face, she was struggling to reclaim her life.

In her original Channel 4 film, Katie Piper was terrified of every knock at the door, fearful of walking anywhere alone, and in constant agony. Now, she’s not only living her life to the full – and then some – she’s helping others to do the same.

However, inevitably, one can’t help but return to the horror of the attack on her that was inflicted by a jilted boyfriend. And though he is behind bars, he’s now appealing against his sentence, but even hearing that news didn’t put Katie off her stride for long.

One can only hope he meets with nothing but contempt at his appeal hearing, because he deserves nothing else. The same can be said of the bottom feeder who attacked Chantelle, one of Katie’s friends.

Chantelle had a life threatening AVM (Arteriovenous malformation) which caused her nose to be so swollen and filled with fragile veins that a haemorrhage could have proved fatal.

I felt physically sick when we heard that, while on a night out, a woman attacked Chantelle, hitting her in the face. Chantelle revealed that the woman was subsequently given police bail, and is therefore free until she faces trial.

By hitting Chantelle in the face, she could have killed her. And why would someone do that? In the case of this throw-back, it was for no other reason than that she took exception to how Chantelle looked.

The actions of some of our species make me ashamed to be human at times.

However, Katie and her Beautiful Friends proved that for every act of evil, there’s at least another of true altruism and just plain goodness.

Katie could’ve hidden away for the rest of her life; nobody would have blamed her. But she didn’t. She took back what her attacker had taken, and in so doing, has found a way to pass on the gift of hope to others.

So, there I go again with the clichés and trite expressions, but as I said earlier, that they’re overused doesn’t make them any less true.

One can only hope that by taking part in Katie’s documentary series, Chantelle, Adele, and all those who’ll follow will take pride in knowing that by selflessly sharing their stories, they’re reaching out to others who share their shoes…

And more importantly perhaps, showing them how to walk tall in them.

Producers have already filmed a show focussing on seven dwarves, who are all living together and performing in a Snow White pantomime.

A source told The Sun: “They were a great bunch of people, with a real sense of fun – but there are lots of tears, tantrums and breakdowns.”

Dwarf actress Laura said: “I want people to enjoy us working hard and having fun – but also to understand some of the problems we face.”

Another, Karen said: “We’re little but we’re normal. That’s what I want people to see.”

Executive producer Nick Curwin said: “The series will break through panto stereotypes to show dwarf actors facing the challenges of ordinary life head-on.”

Channel 5 is considering launching a brand new reality TV show based on members of the travellers communtiy it has been reported today.

The channel say that they were working on the idea before this years surprise hit, ‘Big Fat Gypsy Weddings’ was aired on channel 4.

They have said that their reality, fly on wall show would be a more serious look at the lives of the travelling community, unlike the channel 4 show, claiming:

“But we don’t want to just follow what they have done, we want to lead. We want to really get under the skin of their culture and give a true insight, rather than a p*ss take.”

The six part channel 4 series finished last week but bosses have already confirmed a Christmas special, ‘My Big Fat Gypsy Christmas’. The episode will start with an alternative festive speech by a traveller, to be aired at the same time as the Traditional festive address by the queen.

Other spin-off shows making their way round the rumour mill include, ‘My Big Fat Gypsy Funeral’, and, ‘My Big Fat Gypsy Birthday’.

Channel 4 bosses have revealed that they have been inundated with requests from travellers to star in their second series of ‘Big Fat Gypsy Weddings’.

The show – which follows the lives of gypsies in the run-up to their extravagant wedding days – has been one of the network’s biggest-ever hits, and bosses are already planning a whole host of follow-ups, with youngsters clamouring to take part.

A source said: “It has been a huge topic of conversation and everyone wants to be on it. The girls and boys who have been on it have gained notoriety within their community – a bit like being a local celebrity.”

Channel 4 have already filmed ‘Big Fat Gypsy Christmas’ and spin-off shows about traveller life are set to air next year.

Even though some travellers have criticised the show – saying it makes them look bad and is reflecting negatively on the community as a whole – the majority are keen for more coverage.

The insider added to The Sun newspaper: “Some have spoken out against the show but there is certainly no shortage of people who want to go on it.”

Meanwhile, Craig Revel Horwood has been forced to apologise after calling gypsies “pikeys” on TV.

The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ host said: “I do apologise and I had to apologise at Christmas because I said it to one of my friends and he walked out. I do apologise to the nation for the pikey remarks. I take it back.”

Channel 4 have reportedly axed Famous and Fearless after only one series, because ratings were so poor.

The reality TV game show – fronted by Chris Evans – featured 8 celebrities who competed in extreme sporting events. The channel had hoped that it would be received well and act as a replacement for cancelled series Big Brother, but people just didn’t tune in and though it started with a respectable 2.4million viewers that figure soon fell to just 1.2million by the end of its week-long run.

A source told The Sun:

“It was an innovative idea, but it just didn’t work as well as we had hoped. It was a tough act following Celebrity BB and it needed to pull in bigger ratings than it did.”

The source added: “They were really happy having Evans back and want to do more with him in future.

“They are looking at new projects with him now.”

After a solid first half performance at home serving an Oriental-style menu, former Miss England Danielle takes her eye off the ball and gets in a panic over her crème brulées. Finally dance diva Wayne hot foots it into the kitchen to try and cook for the first time in 20 years.

Channel 4 bosses are reportedly planning to bring back Celebrity Big Brother for one last series in January.

Fans bid Big Brother a fond farewell last night, during what was believed to be the last ever show. Davina shed bucketloads of tears, staff paid tribute to late participant Jade Goody and the British people chose Brian Dowling as their Ultimate BB housemate. However, The Daily Star Sunday has now claimed that bosses were pleased to see the format still draws people in and are planning resurrect it for one final celebrity series.

Last night a show source said: “Channel 4 has been really pleased with the ratings and amount of coverage for this year’s Big Brother and Ultimate Big Brother, so they don’t want to let it go just yet.

“It will probably look a bit strange after everyone thought it was the last we’d see of it on Channel 4 but it will be worth it financially for them to have one final run.”

The source added: “The celebrity version always comes up trumps in the ratings. And there’s always a lot more drama because they all have big egos.”
