Welsh performer Charlotte Church has claimed that she would be a better X Factor judge than Cheryl Cole, because she is a trained singer.

Charlotte and Cheryl feud regularly, with Cheryl suggesting that the singer had tried to copy Girls Aloud style for her last album. Now Charlotte is questioning Cheryl’s ability for her newest role.

“I would have jumped at the chance [to replace Sharon],” she told New! magazine.

Charlotte Church has quashed rumours that she will be joining the judging panel for X Factor 2009.

“We love that show and I do absolutely love the idea of doing something like that, but in reality I don’t know how it would work,” she told OK!

“I’d really get involved, but it wouldn’t work with my life now because the kids will come everywhere with me and if I was based in London, that’s taking them away from their dad.”

We reported yesterday that singer and TV presenter, Charlotte Church was ready to return to her TV career, after the birth of her daughter Ruby last September.

However, although she will be recording a new series of her Channel 4 chat show, she doesn’t want to take too much on and for that reason has turned down the chance to star in John Barrowman’s Choir Wars.
