X Factor contestant Daniel Pearce is reportedly recording an album of satirical songs with Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles.

A source told The People: “They get on really well and Chris is delighted he’s doing well on The X Factor.

“Daniel has also worked on some jingles for Chris’s Radio 1 show and been in the studio with him.”

The album will be released for sale later this year.

The feud between Piers Morgan and Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles stepped up a gear this morning when Chris called Morgan “slime” during his show.

The rather harsh attack came during an on-air discussion about Peter Andre and Chris raised the subject of Morgan’s forthcoming interview with model Katie Price.

Chris said, “If she’s listening now, which she may well be, don’t do it.

“Just don’t go on there, because it’s going to be such a salacious interview…

“And Piers Morgan’s a slime anyway. He is, I can’t bear the guy.

“It’s just going to be cringeworthy.”

The feud between the pair began last year when Piers allegedly called Chris a “lardy boy” and claimed that Chris’s audiences were lower than his own.

The two have since engaged in a war of rather bitchy words about each other on several occasions.

Wouldn’t you think they’d just play nice? Mind you, it’s more fun this way!

Well, today Chris Moyles is claiming a victory after Daniel Evans survived Saturday night’s X Factor. Chris believes it was his radio campaign in support of Daniel that saved the singer from the boot.

Sorry to rain on Moylesy’s parade, but I think he should butt out.

A guy like Daniel won X Factor before, and was given an album full of dull cover versions, and no hope of ever appealing to the record-buying public. You all remember him today as “Angry” Steve Brookstein, a bitter man who resurfaces every September to stick the boot into Simon Cowell and our favourite talent show.

Does Chris Moyles really want to consign Daniel Evans to the same fate? I doubt it.

I think this is a cynical exercise in self-promotion, and Moyles flexing his muscles to see how much influence he can have over the voting process. And it’s well known that his radio show lost a stack of listeners at the last count*. Would it be unreasonable to suggest that a well-publicised stunt like this might bring some listeners back?

Ultimately, Moyles’s campaign to save Daniel is a childish prank. And it’s hardly original. In 2006, there were repeated campaigns to keep Sanjaya Malakar in that year’s American Idol, including a well publicised hunger strike.

But what Moyles is ignoring is the ripple effect of his campaign – by backing a weaker act, he’s leaving the bottom positions open for better singers to fall in. This puts people like Laura White in jeopardy, and they end up being voted out by Louis ‘have I mentioned Westlife today’ Walsh. I find this strange for a man who claims to support unsigned bands.

Chris, if you want to prove you’re serious about Daniel winning this year’s show, I’d suggest that you put your money where your mouth is. Have a hunger strike in support of him.

I’m not being funny, because undermining the voting process is costing potentially great acts from surviving to the final. With the judges and the general public showing some seriously bad voting patterns, the X Factor contestants don’t need your help Chris. Especially not the one contestant who a million-pound recording contract will be completely wasted on.

* Not me though – I still listen religiously every morning. I just think you’re making the wrong call on this campaign, Chris.

Channel 4 have revealed that Radio One DJ Chris Moyles will present Big Brother spin off show, Big Brother’s Big Mouth.

Chris will follow on from comedian Jack Whitehall, from Tuesday June 10 – Friday June 13 on E4.

Whitehall will present the launch show on Thursday night at 11.30pm on E4 followed by Friday night’s show at 10pm.

Radio One DJ, Chris Moyles will be taking over the Celebrity Hijack hot seat this Sunday.

An E4 source told The Sun: “Chris has been watching the show and has loads of ideas for funny tasks. He’s really excited about getting in there and mixing things up.”

I’m not sure how I feel about this as I don’t think Chris always comes across well on TV. I prefer to listen to him in my car in the mornings than see him look slightly uncomfortable on my TV screen.

Don’t believe everything we said in our previous post. Chris Moyles will not be stepping in to replace Sharon Osbourne on the X Factor. In fact, Chris may never have anything to do with the show again if his tirade on Radio 1 this morning was anything to go by!

As a long-time Moyles disciple, I know he’s a big fan of the X Factor. He even went as far as to take part in the celebrity version.

However, this year he’s been less than impressed with the show, and is annoyed that every time there’s a judging ‘crisis’, his name is mentioned in connection with the show. According to the papers, he’s “waiting in the wings should Sharon decide not to return”.

Chris obviously believes that the publicity team for X Factor are behind these leaks and has called on them to stop using his name as a means to promote their show.

Unfortunately, I was in my car when this was broadcast (at about 6:40am early risers!), so no direct quotes – but from memory, he said that the show was a sham and all these arguments between the judges were a farce to attract press attention. Interestingly, he said that people leave the show all the time, but they always seem to come back, implying that the departures are pure pantomime – a direct challenge to Sharon Osbourne to stand by her decision to quit?

This would certainly be in line with what we heard about how Sharon treated Rhidian.

Apparently, Chris had a similar outburst last week about X Factor using his name for publicity, but at the same time, denying his show access to the contestants for interviews.

Now, I’ll probably get shot down for saying this, but I’m getting a different vibe from X Factor this year. Something’s wrong. Not sure if it’s frontstage or happening behind the scenes, but something’s not right with the show.

This site was founded on X Factor coverage, and we hate to see the show suffering so much. With the crap-fest that was this year’s Big Brother, we were hoping X Factor would raise the bar for UK reality TV. So far, we’re still waiting…

Rumours are circulating that Radio One DJ, Chris Moyles has been placed on standby to replace Sharon Osbourne on the X Factor if she does not return.

Sharon threatened to quit the show on saturday night after two of her acts were placed in the bottom two, a source told The News Of The World: “At this point in time Sharon has said she is no longer a judge on The X Factor. We are hoping she will be able to sleep on her decision and calm down.

“Chris Moyles has made it clear he’s on standby if Sharon or Louis Walsh walk out at short notice. Simon Cowell is likely to take him up on that offer.”

I love Chris, and think he could be fun on the X Factor panel. But could he really choose the contestant’s songs or give them advice on how best to carry out their performances? I doubt it! In fact I think if anything he would do a worse job than Sharon did last week!

Grease is The Word judge, David Gest, has invited Radio One DJ, Chris Moyles to dinner aftre being banned from his show.

Gest was late for Moyles’ show last week and Chris angrily declared:

“I’m shaking I’m so angry.”

But David Gest wants to make amends and stated:

“I’d like to take him to dinner, if we can agree a time that’s not too early.”

Louis Walsh has appeared on Chris Moyles Radio One show today and lent the DJ his backing as the new X Factor judge.

He said: “I think you’d be a brilliant judge and I know Sharon likes you a lot.

“They should hire you – we should start a national petition to hire Chris Moyles for the X Factor. You’d be great for the show.”

Simon Cowell has confirmed that there will be four judges this series, and there are rumours that one will be David Gest. Will Moyles be judge number 4? Watch this space!

Chris Moyles has issued a ‘Come and get me’ plea to Simon Cowell late last night.

Chris is desperate to replace Louis Walsh on the X Factor judging panel and said: “I’m just waiting for the call. I’m definitely interested.”

Simon Cowell confirmed that: “He’s among a number of people whose names have been thrown in the ring.

“But nothing has been decided just yet.”

I think Chris would be a fabulous judge….but does he have the music credentials?
