Chris Moyles has admitted that he would ‘bite’ Simon Cowell’s arm off, if he offered him a job on his X Factor show.

The Radio 1 DJ claimed that he would love to work on the ITV reality TV show, but admitted that he would probably clash with Irish judge Louis Walsh over untalented wannabes.

“If they offered me X Factor I would do it,” Moyles told The Mirror.

“What a gig that would be. I would bite Cowell’s arm off to do it. Has he asked me yet? No, but he should. I don’t think Simon is doing the next one, so I would quite happily replace him.

“He is my favourite judge – most times on the night he says what I am thinking.”

He continued: “It’s when you’re sitting there with your mate and you go, ‘Ooh, that was a bit ropey, wasn’t it?’ and then they come on and say, ‘That was brilliant’. I’m sorry, it wasn’t.

“You’ve got to be honest – you don’t have to be horrible. You can say, ‘That wasn’t great, you know you can do better than that’, and that’s what Simon does.”

On the rest of the judging panel, Moyles added:

“God love Louis, I love him, but he shouts, ‘That was brilliant’, and you have to say, ‘Are you deaf? Were you on the phone? Were you even listening?’

“So if Simon is reading this, just put me on. I’ll do it for less money than he does so the show can give him a bit of cash.”

Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner has hit out at Dave Vitty, saying he wouldn’t have lasted on the show if it weren’t for his fanbase.

The DJ fronts Radio 1′s breakfast show each morning with larger than life Chris Moyles and canvasses for votes on a regular basis.

After repeatedly coming at the bottom of the leaderboard, yet consistently avoiding the skate off, Gardiner thinks it’s time for his fans to stop voting and Comedy Dave to leave.

He told The Sun:

The act’s wearing a bit thin with me. His one joke “I’m Comedy Dave” just isn’t funny any more. He’s a clown, a caricature of himself, and that’s no way to progress. If Chris Moyles didn’t plug him, he’d be out.

Dave didn’t get any better comments on the last live show and after he and Frankie Poultney performed to ‘Please Release Me’, Gardiner blasted:

I think it is time we released you from the competition. You are like a mime artist with rigormortis. Your arms and legs look like they are staging a mutiny from you.

Dancing On Ice viewers have expressed their disgust with Chris Moyles after he mocked contestant Johnson Beharry.

The Radio 1 DJ was speaking about Johnson on his breakfast show, when he claimed that people will vote for the former soldier no matter what he does.

Moyles shocked listeners by saying: “It’s great he’s alive but look, let’s not get carried away. The guy could dump in a bucket and hand it to someone in the crowd and someone would go: ‘It’s a bit odd but he is a hero.’”

And referring to an incident last week, which saw Johnson getting his finger broken while rehearsing for the ITV show, Chris added:

“I heard he was sat down and a skate fell off a shelf and fell on his finger, which is ridiculous. You’re telling me that guy went out to fight for us and came back alive?

“And then sits in the Dancing On Ice studio and a skate nearly takes his finger off?”

On 18 March 2005, Johnson was awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest military decoration for valour in the British and Commonwealth armed forces, for twice saving members of his unit from ambushes on 1 May and again on 11 June 2004 at Al-Amarah, Iraq. He sustained serious head injuries in the latter engagement.

Moyles was no doubt trying to rally support for his pal Comedy Dave Vitty, who is also competing on Dancing On Ice, but in doing so he angered a lot of Beharry supporters.

MP and ex Army colonel Patrick Mercer, 54, raged:

“Johnson can do what he damn well likes, he’s a certified hero.”

Johnson’s spokesman Jaine Brent added:

“Chris Moyles has never touched people’s hearts the way Johnson does. He went on Dancing On Ice to raise awareness of soldiers who come back with terrible injuries and inspire them as to what they can achieve.”

And Agnes Hunter, of Support Our Soldiers, said: “Moyles is denigrating the services by his putrid and infantile comments, not to mention the memory of all those lost and injured.

“Johnson will treat it with the contempt it deserves and go on to greater things than this imbecile.”

A Radio 1 spokeswoman said: “Chris was making light of a finger injury Lance Corporal Beharry sustained while ice skating and in no way intended this to be disrespectful.”

Chris Moyles has admitted that he turned down the chance to compete in Strictly Come Dancing.

The Radio One DJ, who yesterday interviewed new contestant Patsy Kensit, told The Daily Star that the BBC didn’t offer him enough money to tempt him to sign up.

He said:

“They asked me last year and I was like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding.’

“Especially for the dough on offer. I can make more busking.”

Chris Moyles has turned his sharp tongue on Cheryl Cole and suggested that the star needs to take some singing lessons.

The Radio One DJ, who trekked up Mount Kilimanjaro with Cheryl last year in aid of comic relief, was playing her single ‘Parachute’ on his show yesterday when he commented:

“I love Cheryl but that’s awful!”

He then laughed:

“I can’t ignore it, it’s not the best, is it? She might not need a parachute but she could bloody do with some singing lessons.”

He later apologised and reached out to the X Factor judge saying:

“If you’re listening Cheryl, we love you.”

Cheryl isn’t the first member of Girls Aloud that Chris has offended. In 2008 he branded Nicola Roberts a ‘sour faced cow’ and was later forced to make a public apology for his comments. Seems like he just never learns his lesson!

X Factor contestant Daniel Pearce is reportedly recording an album of satirical songs with Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles.

A source told The People: “They get on really well and Chris is delighted he’s doing well on The X Factor.

“Daniel has also worked on some jingles for Chris’s Radio 1 show and been in the studio with him.”

The album will be released for sale later this year.

The rather harsh attack came during an on-air discussion about Peter Andre and Chris raised the subject of Morgan’s forthcoming interview with model Katie Price.

Chris said, “If she’s listening now, which she may well be, don’t do it.

“Just don’t go on there, because it’s going to be such a salacious interview…

“And Piers Morgan’s a slime anyway. He is, I can’t bear the guy.

“It’s just going to be cringeworthy.”

The feud between the pair began last year when Piers allegedly called Chris a “lardy boy” and claimed that Chris’s audiences were lower than his own.

The two have since engaged in a war of rather bitchy words about each other on several occasions.

Wouldn’t you think they’d just play nice? Mind you, it’s more fun this way!

Well, today Chris Moyles is claiming a victory after Daniel Evans survived Saturday night’s X Factor. Chris believes it was his radio campaign in support of Daniel that saved the singer from the boot.

Sorry to rain on Moylesy’s parade, but I think he should butt out.

A guy like Daniel won X Factor before, and was given an album full of dull cover versions, and no hope of ever appealing to the record-buying public. You all remember him today as “Angry” Steve Brookstein, a bitter man who resurfaces every September to stick the boot into Simon Cowell and our favourite talent show.

Does Chris Moyles really want to consign Daniel Evans to the same fate? I doubt it.

I think this is a cynical exercise in self-promotion, and Moyles flexing his muscles to see how much influence he can have over the voting process. And it’s well known that his radio show lost a stack of listeners at the last count*. Would it be unreasonable to suggest that a well-publicised stunt like this might bring some listeners back?

Ultimately, Moyles’s campaign to save Daniel is a childish prank. And it’s hardly original. In 2006, there were repeated campaigns to keep Sanjaya Malakar in that year’s American Idol, including a well publicised hunger strike.

But what Moyles is ignoring is the ripple effect of his campaign – by backing a weaker act, he’s leaving the bottom positions open for better singers to fall in. This puts people like Laura White in jeopardy, and they end up being voted out by Louis ‘have I mentioned Westlife today’ Walsh. I find this strange for a man who claims to support unsigned bands.

Chris, if you want to prove you’re serious about Daniel winning this year’s show, I’d suggest that you put your money where your mouth is. Have a hunger strike in support of him.

I’m not being funny, because undermining the voting process is costing potentially great acts from surviving to the final. With the judges and the general public showing some seriously bad voting patterns, the X Factor contestants don’t need your help Chris. Especially not the one contestant who a million-pound recording contract will be completely wasted on.

* Not me though – I still listen religiously every morning. I just think you’re making the wrong call on this campaign, Chris.

An E4 source told The Sun: “Chris has been watching the show and has loads of ideas for funny tasks. He’s really excited about getting in there and mixing things up.”

I’m not sure how I feel about this as I don’t think Chris always comes across well on TV. I prefer to listen to him in my car in the mornings than see him look slightly uncomfortable on my TV screen.
