Chemmy Alcott has claimed that all the stars appearing on this years Dancing On Ice series have become like a ‘little family’.

The ski champion has been loving her time on the ITV show to date and speaking to The Sun, confessed that she was surprised by the depths of the friendships she has struck up, with people she would never normally socialise with.

Chemmy first praised new co-host of the ITV show, Christine Bleakley, admitting that she had a hard job to do when she replaced Holly Willoughby.

She explained:

“What this show has taught me is that celebrities are just like normal people even though we sometimes put them on a pedestal. Christine came up to me after I’d had a tough week and put her arm around me and talked to me for ages, which was lovely, and she’s always in the bar after the show.

“Everyone loved Holly Willoughby, who Christine took over from as host, so I think that’s a tough situation to come into but she’s been brilliant.”

Alcott also revealed that she and Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter have become close over the past month and added:

“And I’ve made really good friends with Jorgie. I never thought me and actresses would be great friends but we’ve all become like a little family.

“I’m an athlete, not a celebrity, but everyone has been so kind.”

Dancing On Ice returns to our screens tomorrow night and it has been reported that Charlene Tilton will be going all wild and wacky with a Lady gaga routine. We can’t wait!

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard might be considering a move to LA Galaxy but there’s one small matter to get out of the way first – his wedding to Dancing On Ice host Christine Bleakley.

The Blues star and his Dancing On Ice host fiancé are planning to tie the knot this summer and already rumours are rife about what country the pair will choose to host their nuptials and what venue the lavish reception will be in.

Bookies Paddy Power today made Dromoland Castle in County Clare their 6/4 favourite to welcome the loved up pair amid whispers that the 177 year-old luxury hotel was on their wish list, followed by Castle Leslie at 5/1, Adare Manor at 6/1 and Luttrellstown Castle, who hit headlines in 1999 when it hosted David and Victoria Beckham’s showbiz wedding, at 6/1.

It’s odds-on at 2/5 that Christine, who grew up in Newry County Down, opts for Ireland over London or LA as her preferred country.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “Ireland has hosted many a celebrity wedding with the Beckham’s being one of the most famous examples and with Christine being an Irish cailin it’s only right that the Emerald Isle might be top of her wish list!”

Christine Bleakley has admitted that she expected people to react badly to her stint on Dancing On Ice.

The former Daybreak host replaced Holly Willoughby as one half of the show’s presenting team when the series returned to ITV last week and even before she made her debut, fans were criticising bosses for giving her the gig.

When Dancing On Ice aired last week, Twitter was alight with people blasting the Northern Irish star and criticising her presenting skills, but she thinks that would have happened no matter what.

In an interview with OK magazine, Bleakley said:

“I was expecting it. Alesha Dixon got it on Strictly too, everyone gets it. But I’ve had lovely feedback from Phillip [Schofield] and the people I work with and that’s all I care about.”

Christine thinks it will take viewers a while to get used to seeing her on the ice skating show and added:

“It takes a bit of getting used to when different faces do different shows and people don’t like being too positive about anything!

“I keep perspective, but I read the nonsense and think, for God’s sake, but I can’t win so what’s the point in getting sucked into the battle? I don’t anymore.”

Unreality TV readers have reacted pretty negatively to Christine so far and last week Katy Brook left a comment saying:

I don’t know if I can watch the show again! Christine Bleakley is uncomfortable to watch and hear that tinny Irish voice. She is a bag of bones, she’s surely no Holly Willoughby.

Another viewer named Loz wrote:

Christine is bland. Just because she likes to giggle doesn’t make her a good presenter. Why is she moving from job to job? I dont know anyone who champions her.

And one named JK added:

We couldn’t stand her on daybreak so why would be like her on Dancing on ice? Why can’t this hag go away?

Many fans were not particularly impressed by Christine Bleakley’s debut presenting Dancing On Ice and British bookies have acted upon their feedback and slashed their odds to just 9/4 that the former Daybreak star is replaced for DOI 2013 and 16/1 that she is replaced mid-series.

Unlike Holly Willoughby, there was not a cleavage in sight and Hills expect that trend to continue and it is 3/1 that she wears a more revealing dress on next Sunday’s show.

“Sadly it looks like the one show might have been a one off for Christine and it would come as no great surprise if she is canned again. It even looks like Christine has decided she cannot compete against former presenter Holly Willoughby and it looks like the cover up will continue,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.

Wow! Firstly let me say, what an opening sequence. It was stunning, just stunning. Those professional skaters never cease to amaze me. I mean I get shivers watching the pros on Strictly sometimes but this is on ice. Amazing.

I have to say I was apprehensive about both Christine Bleakley in Holly Willougby’s place, and Louie Spence in Jason Gardiner’s. Although I do think it was time Jason went, I have never really been a fan of Louie’s, but he didn’t annoy me at all, which is pretty amazing, normally when he appears on my tv I want to change the channel! I was never as “worried” about Katarina Witt, I mean look at her track record, she’s the judge they’ve definitely been missing. But I really did think she was a breath of fresh air on the panel, giving constructive critic with a twinkle in her eye.

As for Christine, well she’s no Holly Willougby but I didn’t find her as uncomfortable to watch as I did when she was on daybreak. But then maybe that’s because she was on so early in the morning!

Now, on to the celebrities, I have to say, that its been an ‘interesting’ mix this year. Despite the intros I still have no clue as to who half of them are, and maybe that was the problem with the vote off tonight (more about that later) but as skaters, I have to say the standard on the first show was very high. I thought Jorgie (who I had never heard off before) was absolutely stunning, and she seemed like a genuinely sweet girl. I normally find the ones off hollyoaks a bit gobby, and I wasn’t expecting to like her, but I do. Goes to show you shouldn’t judge a person by which tv show they appear in!

Charlene was another surprise for me, I had all but written her off due to her age (I know, sue me right?!) but the “older” celebs generally don’t do so well on ice. But she showed real potential and I think she will be one to watch. Especially as her partner Matthew Gonzalez is particularly attractive…

Chemmy also showed great potential and the others I thought we decent enough, except for poor Mark. Which brings me to the subject of the skate off. Surely based on skating he should have been in the bottom two? Who voted for him? I barely even knew who he was, even after someone told me he’d been on popstars, I still didn’t remember him? Perhaps the great British public choose not to vote so much in week one, preferring to leave it to fate, but then we generally get annoyed when a decent skater leaves, as happened tonight. I won’t say who in case you haven’t seen it yet. But perhaps it does remind us that if we are passionate about a how like dancing on ice, then you do need to pick up the phone and vote for your fav…

Christine Bleakley has admitted that she will be covered up when she makes her Dancing On Ice debut tonight.

The former Daybreak presenter will replace Holly Willoughby on the ITV show when it returns this evening, but insisted that she will not be carrying on the blonde beauties tradition of wearing low cut dresses, because she fears she lacks a little in the boob department.

The brunette beauty said that she will wear a fancy gown for the occasion, but it will be a little higher cut. She told The Sun:

“I did like the way Holly always wore her long dresses and it suits the occasion here. I’ll probably go long on Sunday.

“Maybe a bit of sparkles but no cleavage! I’m lacking in the Holly Willobooby department! I’ll keep it simple.

“I think I will ease my way in gently on that front.”

Christine has attracted quite a negative reaction from Dancing On Ice fans since she was announced as the new host and all the furore surrounding her hiring must be affecting the Northern Irish star.

She confessed that she is ‘nervous’ about tonight’s launch show but is looking forward to working with Phillip Schofield and added:

“I’m definitely nervous. It’s such a huge set and it can be overwhelming but it’s great Phillip’s alongside me and there is a lovely team and crew behind the scenes.

“Yesterday, as nervous as I was, I looked over at the celebs and I thought, ‘You know what, you have it tougher than I do!’ and they kind of calmed me in a reverse way.”

Christine Bleakley is reportedly considering making a move to America, having been sounded out by Simon Cowell about presenting his next US series of The X Factor.

The former Daybreak presenter – who will next hit our screens as co-host of ITV’s Dancing On Ice – is said to be weighing up her options in The States after her partner Frank Lampard was offered a contract with David Beckham’s football team LA Galaxy.

It was recently reported that bosses at Fox TV network were planning to axe Steve Jones as host of The X Factor USA, after the public failed to warm to his Welsh charms. Insiders say Cowell is keen to get another Brit on board and that person may just be Northern Irish Christine.

A source told The Mirror: “She gets on very well with Simon and he’s always maintained at some point they will work ­together. After Dancing On Ice is done and dusted by the spring, there’s nothing keeping her in the UK if she wanted to move abroad.

“The Americans love an Irish presenter and Christine has potential to work very well in the US.”

We don’t know why anyone would think the Americans would like Christine any more than the UK public, as the reaction to her replacing Holly Willoughby on Dancing On Ice has been so negative.

Elen Rivas has come over all Katie Price and is airing details of her latest family dispute on Twitter.

The former Dancing On Ice contestant claimed to be furious that her ex Frank Lampard and his new partner Christine Bleakley prevented her from talking to her two young daughters over Christmas .

The Spanish star was in India for the festive season and told her Twitter followers that Frank and Christine wouldn’t let her speak to her children at the weekend.

Rivas tweeted on Christmas Eve that it was “sad” that her ex would stop her from contacting her little ones and added:

“You would have thought the girlfriend would have a little maternal understanding.”

Bleakley was incensed but tried to keep her dignity by replying to a friend saying that she would be glad to set the record straight and put across her and Frank’s side of the story, but not on Twitter, because “children are involved”.

A source told the Mirror that Luna, 6, and Isla, 4 have become incredibly close to Christine in recent months, calling Bleakley “mum”, and added that the Northern Irish presenter was “incredibly frustrated” when she first read Elen’s comments.

We have to ask what sort of mum takes herself off to India for Christmas when her two children are in England anyway!

Christine will return to our screens early next month for the new series of Dancing On Ice, in which she replaces Holly Willoughby as one half of the presenting team.

Christine Bleakley has admitted that despite the fact that most of this year’s Dancing On Ice stars have already been practicing for the show for weeks, they are still prone to falls and tumbles on the rink.

The former Daybreak host takes over from Holly Willoughby as one half of the presenting team, when the series returns to ITV next month and speaking at a Cadburys and London Olympics event in London this week, confessed that she got quite scared watching the celebrities at a recent meet up.

The brunette beauty explained:

I am not naturally an ice skater by any means. I tried it once or twice as a kid but my mum and dad rarely allowed us, in case we cracked our skulls open. Funny enough at the show and tell day last week, when we got to see a few of the stars and their partners, there were a few falls and that was before the series even begins.

It made me realise just how vulnerable they are out there, it’s quite a scary thing really.

There has been a bit of a kick up about Christine’s takeover from Holly – who will now front BBC’s The Voice – with many fans of the show claiming they can’t warm to the Northern Irish host.

However, she is ignoring the negative comments and insisted that she is ‘excited’ about working on the 2012 series. Bleakley added:

I’m very, very excited about Dancing On Ice. It’s a show I’ve watched for years and to work with Phillip Schofield as well….

Holly Willoughby has just been brilliant and has given me a few little pointers and they are a lovely production team, all the celeb skaters I have met at this stage and they are wonderful, I’ve had nice messages from each of them and I’m hoping it’s going to be a great year.

Christine Bleakley to replace Holly Willoughby, Louis Spence to replace Jason Gardener, Katarina Witt to replace Emma Bunton and Karen Barber to replace… her unforgiveable absence from last years panel!

It’s all change at Dancing On Ice…

ITV have announced a new judging panel for the 2012 season of Dancing On Ice in a major x-factor style shake-up. I’m still not quite sure why, although it might have something to do with Emma being a little bit clueless when it comes to ice skating and Jason just being downright rude? Who knows?

Also the series will return to it’s previous home of Elstree studios, I’m not sure whether the set will remain the same as the one that they used at Shepperton last year, maybe we will see a return to the original setup and mix the old with the new. Guess we’ll have to wait to find out…

As with all reality TV shows (even with the presence of Torvill and Dean) Dancing On Ice would be nothing without the contestants. So who do we have this year?

Unconfirmed reports suggest, Chesney Hawkes, Heidi Range, Andy Akinwolere, Ian Walker, Charlene Tilton, Corey Feldman, Jennifer Ellison, Laila Morse, Sadie Frost, Jorgie Porter, Chemmy Alcott, Rosemary Conley and Matthew Wolfenden. You can check the full list of rumoured contestants here.

Hmmm a rather ‘interesting’ line-up, some decent names in there, but we can never tell what the show’s going to be like until it hits our screens. Even if they throw in a load of celebrities that no one cares about, the fact always remains, ice is dangerous! And for that reason alone, Dancing On Ice always makes for compelling viewing. We might laugh when a z list celeb falls on their backside, but there’s always that heart in mouth moment when they do. And already this season there are rumours that Keith Chegwin had to pull out due a serious injury early on in rehearsals.

Keith Chegwin?! Makes you wonder who took his place doesn’t it?
