Christopher Biggins has branded annoying Gillian McKeith the “worst contestant ever”.

The former ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ winner – who was crowned king of the jungle in 2007 – thinks the ‘You Are What You Eat’ star is ruining the show with her repeated refusal to take part in Bushtucker Trials, and should quit the ITV1 show altogether.

He told The Sun newspaper: “She must be the most obnoxious, selfish, vindictive woman I’ve ever had the misfortune to watch on TV. She’s ruining the programme.

“She refuses to do anything, and if she cannot do it she should get out. She has a huge ego and probably thinks she’s being picked for the tasks because she’s so popular, the poor, deluded woman. My advice to her would be to try harder and be kinder. But there is no way back for her now.”

Meanwhile, a Bushtucker Trial was abandoned yesterday after contestants Shaun Ryder and former MP Lembit Opik were both bitten by snakes.

The pair both suffered deep puncture wounds after putting their hands into pots containing non-venomous tree pythons. The contestants were then treated by medics, before the trial – which granted Lembit immunity from last night’s elimination – was re-run with the snakes replaced by rhino beetles.

Christopher Biggins thinks Gillian McKeith shouldn’t have been allowed to appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’

The former King of the Jungle – who won the ITV1 show in 2007 – has admitted seeing the TV nutritionist break down on a number of occasions after being faced with a variety of gruesome Bush Tucker Trials suggests she is not psychologically fit to be a part of the series.

He explained: “I blame the psychiatrist – because you have to see a psychiatrist before you go in. Perhaps they were closed the day that Gillian went, because you’d never let her in would you? She needs a big piece of meat I think.”

The actor also thinks former ‘Coronation Street’ star Nigel Havers – who sensationally quit the show this morning (22.11.10) – should never have agreed to take part in ‘I’m A Celeb…’

Christopher added to the ‘Lorraine’ show: “I don’t think he should have done it really, that’s the real problem. And I think that he completely lost it yesterday.

“That is the worst thing – boredom. Because there is nothing to do – you can’t read, you can’t look at anything, you can’t listen to anything.”

Former King Of The Jungle Christopher Biggins will join this year’s Dancing On Ice nationwide tour.

Although Biggins has never competed on the ITV1 show and was a pretty awful dancer on last year’s Let’s Dance For Comic Relief, he feels he will be able to judge contestants on their entertainment value.

Biggins will sit alongside former show inner Kyran Bracken and TV judges Karen Barber and Nicky Slater on the judging panel when the tour kicks off in Sheffield on April 8.

Contestants skating on the tour will be Hayley Tamaddon, Emily Atack, Mikey Graham, Gary Lucy, previous finalists Clare Buckfield and Chris Fountain and former winners Gaynor Faye and Ray Quinn.

The artist formerly known as Christopher Biggins will now be referred to as simply ‘Biggins.’

Biggins will reprise his Widow Twankey role in Aladdin this Christmas – and posters at promoting the show at Plymouth’s Theatre Royal are being printed with his new name.

Biggins told The Times: “I love being like Marilyn or Sabrina or Madonna — and my breasts are bigger.”

His agent Jonathan Shalit said: “It seems much easier because that is how he is known. If you ever walk down the street with him, cab drivers are forever shouting ‘Oi Biggins!’. He is called Biggins in the BBC One Lottery show so it makes sense to make this permanent.”

I prefer king of the jungle myself!

Former I’m A Celebrity winner Christopher Biggins says that Jade Goody raised cancer awareness during her very public battle with the disease.

Speaking after taking part in a charity walk in high heels ahead of Cancer Research UK’s Race For Life – said: “I think that because Jade was so publicly in the spotlight for having cancer, and of course because the cancer got the better of her in the end, it was very emotional.”

“I think her telling people or making people aware of screening that can help alleviate this disease has done wonders.”

He went on: “It’s marvellous and I think the more people that can do that the better. If you do catch it early enough, you can do things to eradicate the illness you may have.”

Christopher Biggins has admitted that BBC bosses have asked him to cut down on drink in advance of his appearance on Comic Relief special, Let’s Dance.

Biggins, who will perform with former Pop Idol judge Nicki Chapman, told PA: “I had to go out to lunch today and they sent me a text saying please don’t drink too much because we can’t bear to have the insurance if you fall!”

Biggins will be joined on the show by Jo Brand, Dragons from Dragons’ Den (Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Deborah Meaden), Blue Peter presenters (Tim Vincent, Anthea Turner, Mark Curry, Diana Louise Jordan, Peter Duncan, Peter Purves, Janet Ellis, Helen Skelton) and many more.

Julia throws a rollercoaster of an evening with enough food, wine and dancing to make Biggins sick, Edwina furious and Phillip extremely hungover; and that’s just the first night. The rest of the week involves a cheeky demand for one host to go topless and some blatant cheating in the kitchen. All the guests score their host out of 10, and after the final dinner, the winner is revealed and picks up £1,000 for the charity of their choice.

Christopher Biggins has admitted that he was seriously nervous about entering the jungle this year, and considered it to be a very risky move.

Biggins told the Daily Mail:

“I could sit back and watch my name slide down the billings, or I could get out there and prove to everyone that I was capable of more. It was high risk, of course it was. My worst fear was being voted out first, and being utterly humiliated.”

However, Biggins knew he had been a hit when he entered the Ivy restaurant last week, and received a standing ovation from the diners.

“The place just came to a halt. Everyone was shouting and cheering. It was quite, quite mad,” he explained. “I was with Joan Collins and even when we were at the table, people were throwing roses. My God, it was amazing.

“Then on Wednesday I was at the comedy awards. Jonathan Ross was telling me how much he loved watching me. Everyone was clapping me on the back. It was quite exhausting.”

A spokesman said: “He’s replacing Richard Arnold while he’s on holiday next week and will be back on screen in January.”

Biggins makes his debut on the show on December 11.
