Tens were generously handed out by the judges to all three finalists for their daring performances. Even Grace with her broken foot earned a ten from judge Louis. After twelve weeks of sometimes excruciatingly painful training, all three finalists excelled as they vied to win the Cirque de Celebrite, 2006.

Kenzie opened the show on the hire wire with a pole for balancing and carrying a performer on his shoulder. He completed his act a little shakily but still earned a full house of tens. All three contestants will be expected to give more demanding and spectacular performances.30

Emma B on the advanced corde lisse, sometimes incorporating two corde lisses, enthralled us with her smooth transitions from one advanced manoeuvre to another, multiple splits and half splits, fantastic lines with a forward drop descended to the ground gracefully earning sevens across the board. She lost points for appearing to be uncomfortable in the air. 21

Grace, the front runner for the past twelve weeks, broke her foot in training last Thursday and had to be taken to hospital but was back in the ring to do her best as a true performer would do. She had to maintain the balance while being carried on the shoulders of a member of the trained support staff walking the tight rope. The reverse of Kenzie discipline. Grace, having completed the challenge earned a seven, six and eight. Judge Philip asked all in the tent to stand and applaud Grace in admiration for her courage in carrying on with the show despite her painfully broken foot. The judges congratulated her for perfuming with great skill and elegance. A real trooper said judge Anne.21

Kenzie’s second advent was the swinging trapeze whose skilled and gripping performance earned him 26. A total of fifty six points

Emma B on the high wire was very shaky but adventurous as she climbed onto the bike and then the cyclist’s shoulders balancing momentarily and then climbed off, turned around, all on the wire, before walking back and descending, earning her three tens in spite of her shakiness. 30. Total 51

It was entirely Grace’s decision to carry on with the show and her next discipline was performing on the spinning loop with graceful angels, crucifix, neck hangs, knee hangs and many other beautiful manoeuvres before gracefully descending. The judges said it was a lovely performance, tough moves and yet with perfect simplicity, clean and tidy rewarding her with an 8, 9 and 10. 27 and 48 in total

After the public vote Kenzie was placed third, Emma B second and a very deserving, brave Grace won the series with much applause and excitement. The other eleven celebrities, who had participated in the contest, encircled her with hugs and congratulations. Her mother and fiancé, Mikey from Big Brother proudly joined her

We do hope that there will be further Cirque de Celebrite contests with all the circus bustle and excitement. Thank you producers.

This article was written by Evelyn Lewis. One more week and then the final, with ten weeks behind us.

First up, performing advanced tricks on the Corde Lisse was Grace, thrilling the crowds with her daring death defying, five metre drop at ten miles an hour, with her usual graceful manoeuvres. Each week Grace pulls off new and more daring feats than ever before. Although flawless, Anne managed to find a minor hand movement to knock off a point. Her points from Philip 10, Anne 9 and Louis 9 gave her a good start to the evening. She deserved tens across the board.28

Kenzie walked the 20 ft high wire, thinner than a five pence coin, blindfolded and keeping his balance with a long bar. He pulled it off with great form. The judges were impressed and rewarded him with nines across the board. 27

Emma B followed with the high wire, blindfolded and no pole, at her own choice but only managed two steps before falling. Her ever doting judges still gave her an eight from Philip, a nine from Anne whose judging was completely out the whole night and seven from Louis. This was a ridiculous score for the only person who failed to perform her discipline. Two steps, indeed! 24

Andy Kane was the bookies outsider and many wondered what he was doing in the semi finals. His discipline was the rola rola. He pulled off one manoeuvre but fell as he tried to stand up in the second trick. The commentator felt he had not held the first trick long enough and failed the second but the judges thought he deserved a 7 from Philip a ridiculous ten from Anne (does she have a clue on how to judge?) Louis a nine with lots of laughter with Anne. Do these judges have any idea of what they are doing to the hard working contestants who pulled off their manoeuvres and received lower scores. It might be a joke to Anne and Louis but not to the other contestants. 26

To prove my point of the ridiculous point distribution…Grace performed a death defying trick faultlessly and received nines from Louis and Anne who also gave Andy a ten and nine for a badly executed manoeuvre (2nd one not succeeded in) Emma received an eight, seven and nine for a failed manoeuvre with only two steps on the high wire.

Grace, blindfolded on the high wire, did a faultless crossing to receive two tens but Louis gave her a nine because she had the bar for balance, which was part of the trick. How unfair is that when every point counts

Kenzie on the Corde lisse performed, elegantly and daringly, multiple smooth manoeuvres. A great strong dramatic performance. 8 from Philip, 8 from Anne and 9 from Louis. 25

Emma B, in spite of obvious flaws in her manoeuvres on the cloud swing received tens across the board???? Some of her tricks were impressive.

Andy’s completed high wire, blindfolded walk with the bar earned 24 points that is eights across the board.

Something should really be done about Anne’s erratic judging and favouritism.

The final scores were Grace leading with 57 Emma B with an undeserved 54 Kenzie with 52 and Andy with 50. The public votes put Andy and Kenzie at the bottom with Emma B choosing Andy to go home. (Why is a competitor voting another competitor out and so close to the end?)

Two weeks to go with Grace, Emma and Kenzie competing against each other next week.

This article was written by Evelyn Lewis an Unreality Tv contributor. The competitiveness between Emma B and Grace has reached new heights with amazing performances from both girls. Each contestant had to perform using the 400kgm Russian Swing, with the second challenge coming from the judges, being past disciplines with the expectation of advanced manoeuvres.

When Emma opened on the straps, I thought ‘Nothing can beat this’, her performance was daring, flawless with new manoeuvres perfectly executed. Her lines were exquisite and showmanship second to none, or so I thought. She had stated that she was working hard to beat Grace again this week and earn a ten. From her first performance of the night, I was convinced she would. She did a daring neck hang after rising with multiple spins, posing at intervals. Great show with a very smooth ending. The judges said she had given a brave and very good performance with beautiful transitions earning a nine, eight and much hoped for ten giving her a total of 27

Next up was Andy Kane (who had wanted to give up last week), on the Russian swing. One of the trainers had taken him aside and told him to get back in there and make it work for him and not think of leaving. He was encouraged enough to state that he was going to give it 110%. After a good entrance and a troupe to help him, Andy swung out from the Russian Swing, pulled off a manoeuvre before making a messy landing. Back onto the Russian swing for a high somersault with a second untidy landing earning him a score of 21 out of thirty for a brave performance.

Kenzie on the aerial straps, takes judges comments very seriously and acts on their advice, hoping to make it to the semi finals. With only five couples left he realises he is going to have to work very hard. Once hooked up he swung around to the music, with an excellent flying start. Good lines but needed more of an angle to his body. Bit slow in get unstrapped. Next the bungee straps which hauled him right to the top of the tent where he executed dramatic manoeuvres Judges felt he had accomplished a bold performance with good showmanship, lines and strength but Philip Ghandi felt that it lacked talent. He received 23 points.

A confident, smiling Grace Adams-Short made a superbly elegant entrance and once strapped up, gracefully sprang onto the Russian Swing and astounded us with her daring triple somersault, nicely executed, little shaky in landing but finished the manoeuvre with graceful showmanship movements. With obvious excitement she returned to the dreaded Russian Swing to once again thrill us with further fearless manoeuvres ending back on the ground with splits. A stunning, fantastic performance with only her old enemy Judge Anne, finding something to criticise. The other judges said it was fabulous, good timing (essential), mastered perfectly and fearless. Yet she received a twenty five. Nine from Philip and eight from Anne and Louis. 25.

Jamie Baulch had the Cordelisse to contend with after a nice entrance. Fast spins, upside down, various manoeuvres, one hand spins and climbed the rope to wave with showman smiles after which he descended well. The judges felt he had not performed anything new as the routine was ‘old stuff’. After six weeks of training they expected more from him even though he showed wonderful grace, finesse and control. A bit of disagreement amongst the judges but to his disappointment, his overall score of twenty said it all.

Emma B on the Russian Swing was hurled twenty feet into the air with a sloppy pose and bad landing. With only two weeks to go, more is expected from the contestants. Although a clumsy and jarred performance Emma’s showmanship was excellent. In spite of the shoddy performance the judges said they loved watching her, good form, makes it look effortless, comfy in the air, good job etcetera. There is a definite bias here as no one could call it good. She was excellent in her first discipline but the second was more like a practice run. For that bad performance she was given a 24. Come on judges.

Andy’s second discipline was the aerial strap. He is very popular with the audience, receiving cheers and chanting his name which was very encouraging for him. A good strong performance earning him much praise from the judges who rewarded him with a well deserved twenty six.

The Russian Swing was Kenzie’s second discipline. Nice smooth mount, good swing and best landing tonight. His confidence has grown which was shown by a good somersault but bad landing. The judges were disappointed and gave him 21 points

A brilliant, romantic performance from Grace on the aerial strap with the Russian trainer. Many dangerous and daring feats were performed with grace pirouetting in the air and convincingly playing out a love story. Judge Philip said he only employed top artists for his circus and she would be his choice to be one of them. She received a ten and two nines putting her at the top, for the night, with fifty three points. Well deserved.

James did well in his second discipline with a good strong performance and excellent landing, earning 27points. For the past three weeks Grace has appeared to be unfairly targeted by the judges with unearned criticism, low points and favouring Emma B but tonight Emma B really did deserve all she received with her amazing, fearless performances, stunning lines and exquisite to watch. Grace, dressed in a most unflattering outfit on the advanced low high wire, compared with the stunning outfit Emma B was given to wear, seemed to have lost her confidence (did the browbeating and low points of the judges take its toll) and although she was pulling off amazing feats like a splits on the advanced low high wire and advanced tricks on the motorbike trapeze, Anne said they were not as smoothly executed as Emma B’s were, who kept to repeating old tricks. Grace did deserve higher points than she received. I do hope that Grace bounces back and stays focused as she can still pull it off and win the series, if she does. With returned confidence she would be able to perfect her advanced tricks and win hands down. Judge Anne Darwin is who worst enemy at the moment. Over scoring Emma B and grossly underscoring and criticising Grace.

Each competitor had to perform two disciplines. The Motor Bike Trapeze and the Advanced Low High Wire, executing various daring tricks to impress the judges. Grace did the very dangerous neck hang on the motor bike trapeze plus swan and knee drop. Emma B performed the knee drop and birds nest. Both girls were very proud of their 360 spin around the wire.

Andy’s jump on the advanced low wire was impressive. Lee was the clown on the wire, very amusing but deserved to earn the low score of ten.

There is a marked improvement in Kenzie’s performances, although he, and the other men, refused to do the 360 degree spin around the wire while on the motor bike trapeze which both girls executed well.

Lee Mc Donald and Andy were voted into the bottom two, by the public with Emma B (at last) being the celebrity to choose who was to go. She chose Lee saying that Andy had been with them longer than Lee and he is a better performer. Lee enjoyed his one week return to the Circus. Ninia Benjamin was also invited back, in full costume, to add to the glitz and fun in the capacity of additional ‘trainer’. Grace, being the fighter she is, should be giving us a wonderful performance next week. That is if the judges don’t put her on her weakest discipline, the high low tight wire. Emma B is proving to be an all round success and if she attempts more advanced tricks, should be a treat for us all enjoy. There are only five contestants left, who will win the series???

This article was written by Evelyn a contributor here at Unreality TV. We will really miss this extremely talented young lady who was a pleasure to watch. Although she was not able to keep up with training due to kidney illness and modelling commitments, her performance was always brilliant. A natural. Emma B had made nasty remarks about her not training as much as the others, for some time, so she will be relieved to have less competition to cope with. Emma B has also made remarks about Grace getting too much attention but they have since become ‘friends’. Watch your back Grace.

Tonight we saw the celebrities performing their tricks without any safety nets or protection of any sort, for the first time.

Grace Adams Short opened the show with her best performance ever, on the ‘advance cordilese’. Pulling off a multiple of tricks, gracefully and effortlessly, including wraps, folds, drops and inverted splits. She commenced by rising to the top, hanging by the neck and gracefully performed distortions, half angels and many more very daring manoeuvres both fast moving and near perfect. Her entrance was as exquisite as ever with her own choreography. She ended by executing a very daring triple head over heels to the ground. How the judges came to give her a mere 25 points out of 30 is beyond understanding. Were they deliberately under marking her?

Andy Kane, James Donovan and Kenzie impressed the judges on the aerial strap, performing twists, wraps and lifts. The men were taught by Valeiria, the Russian, from last week. They had to do floor shows followed by manoeuvres on the aerial strap, performing various tricks and then the pendulum swing. All were strong and graceful with good lines. James and Andy earned 21 points each and Kenzie 22, thanks to a generous 9 from Judge Louis Spence, which compensated the poor 6 from Judge Anne.

Emma B was disappointing on the advance cordilese although her entrance was good and some of her manoeuvres had excellent lines. She stumbled around and got twisted in the rope and failed to pull off her final tricks. The first half was good but the second half, embarrassing to watch. Her manoeuvres were not as daring as Grace’s or as well executed and yet the judges gave her the same score. What are they playing at??? Emma B has always been over marked, finding unfair favour with the judges but this was inexcusable. Grace totally outshone Emma B.

Sophie Anderton made a brief appearance, hobbling on one leg supported by Albert the head trainer. She told a booing audience and all in the tent that she had to leave due to her injury. More booing as she was carried out. Do people get paid to boo or are they just rude and cruel???

Lee Mac Donald was welcomed back, in Sophie’s place.

Ninia Benjamin surprised us with her well manoeuvred tricks on the rope but she is weeks behind the other contestants and earned a generous 17 points. She and James were the bottom two contestants and Grace had to decide who was to go (Why not Emma B as Grace has had to vote out fellow contestants twice in the past). Was it because, if Grace voted to keep James, (which would be the fairest thing to do, he being a far better performer) then she would be unpopular with the audience, who loved Ninia? Is this an attempt to pull Grace down from favour so that the favoured Emma B can win? Grace being an honest person, of course voted Ninia out. What will happen next? Let’s hope the public see through this second attempt to pull Grace down, as she deserves to win. She has worked harder than anyone else to get to where she is and has not only been consistent but the most outstanding performer.

More challenges to come next week but let’s hope the judges get their act together. We are getting very tired of their yelling, bickering and weird point distribution.

This article was written by Evelyn Lewis, one of our contributors at Unreality TV.
