It’s been revealed today that Strictly Come Dancing newbie – she joined the BBC show last year after Sir Bruce Forsyth retired – Claudia Winkleman has been nominated to receive a Royal Television Society award, however, there is no sign that her Strictly co-host Tess Daly has been similarly honoured.

When Sir Bruce Forsyth announced that he was retiring as the host of Strictly Come Dancing, the search for his replacement immediately got underway, and eventually, Claudia Winkleman was announced as taking over the job of presenting the long-running BBC show.
However, according to Sir Bruce, Claudia did not in fact replace him, and instead, his co-presenter Tess Daly was given his role while in turn, Claudia was brought in to be in a support role alongside Tess.

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were delighted when host Claudia Winkleman returned to the show last night, but of course, given that her recent absence had been because she was at her daughter Matilda’s bedside in hospital – the 8-year-old suffered burns in an accident at Halloween – her comeback was an emotional one.
Claudia first revealed that she was headed back to the show on Twitter, writing, “I’m coming back to Strictly this weekend but am out of practice so please bear with me.” Read on »

Claudia has been absent from Strictly for the past three weekends, and even missed the Blackpool special last week whilst she’s been taking care of her daughter, but she will make a triumphant return tomorrow night.

Zoe Ball will be stepping in to fill the shoes of Claudia Winkleman once more this evening, as Strictly Come dancing moves to Blackpool for the first time this year.
The It Takes Two host was called to replace Claudia a fortnight ago, after her young daughter Matilda was involved in a horrific fire accident while trick or treating on Halloween. The girl’s costume caught flames while she was gathering treats from neighbours and she was rushed to hospital after being treated by ambulance staff for severe burns.
Fans of Strictly Come Dancing will know that host Claudia Winkleman has been absent from the show for the last couple of weeks as she’s been caring for her daughter Matilda, who suffered devastating burns after her Halloween costume caught alight when the 8-year-old strayed too close to a pumpkin lantern.
Claudia Winkleman is reportedly set to return to Strictly Come Dancing this weekend after being absent from the show for the past 2 weeks.
Sadly, Claudia’s 8-year-old daughter fell victim to a horrific accident on Halloween, after her dress caught fire from a small candle. Ever since, Claudia has spent every waking moment by her daughter’s bedside, which has resulted in her missing the past two Strictly Come Dancing shows.

Last weekend, It Takes Two presenter Zoë Ball stood in for Strictly Come Dancing co-host Claudia Winkleman – and as we reported at the time, fans of the show called for Tess Daly to be permanently replaced by Zoë – after it was revealed that Claudia had taken emergency time off to care for one of her children.
