American Idol star Clay Aiken has admitted that he would love to replace Simon Cowell on the show next year.
The 31 year old singer, who finished second on the 2003 season, has added his name to list of possible judges (inclusing Elton John, Harry Connick Jr and Adam Lambert) saying that he could bring a lot of experience to the role.

Former American Idol contestant Clay Aiken has admitted that he didn’t think much of this year’s runner up Adam Lambert.
Now I don’t pay $29.95 a year to read the ramblings of Mr Aiken but some of you do and thanks for emailing me the following quote from his blog. He said:
I couldn’t be happier with the way AI ended this year. I only turn the show on once a season and only to see what the set looks like. This year, I happened to turn it on during the minute that Adam Lambert was singing “Ring of Fire,” and, at that moment, thought my ears would bleed. Contrived, awful, and slightly frightening! I wasn’t really a fan and found myself surprised whenever folks told me that they liked him.
