We just reported that more than 2,500 X Factor viewers have complained to OFCOM over the elimination of Carolynne Poole from the ITV show at the weekend and it seems that the general public aren’t the only ones upset by Louis Walsh’s decision.
The Irish star had the deciding vote between the country singer and her sing off competitor Rylan Clark and after first opting to save the brunette beauty, he changed his mind just seconds later and instead decided to save Clark and send the show to deadlock.
As a result, Dermot O’Leary revealed that Carolynne had the least amount of public votes and would be going home.
Coleen Nolan has become the latest celebrity to wade into the big X Factor fix row that is engulfing the nation this morning.
Carolynne Poole was eliminated from the show last night, after finding herself in the sing off with Rylan Clark and it was Louis Walsh who was left with the deciding vote over who went home and who survived in the competition.
There has of course been a huge amount of controversy over ITV’s screening of an exposé documentary about Sir Jimmy Savile and allegations that he was a paedophile.
And today, former Celebrity Big Brother star Coleen Nolan has revealed that she only just “escaped” the clutches of the late DJ and TV presenter when she was a teenager.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Coleen explained that in the 70s, she and her sisters – who were of course hit band The Nolans – spent a lot of time with Savile at the BBC given that he hosted Top of the Pops at the time.
She added that Savile “begged” her to join him at his Blackpool hotel in 1979, and it was only the intervention of her sisters that stopped her from going.
Coleen said of Savile’s invitation, “I did think ‘Oh my God’. It was kind of impressive that this famous DJ had asked me to go with him to his hotel room… Read more & comment »
Coleen Nolan may have been bitter enemies with Julie Goodyear inside the Celebrity Big brother house but all her anger has evaporated it would seem and she revealed that now, she just ‘feels sorry’ for the pensioner.
The former Loose Women star had a bad feeling about the Coronation Street actress ever since her first night on the Channel 5 show, when she claimed that the blonde bombshell was being fake with her fellow housemates.
She was later proved right and tensions between the two older women rose over the subsequent three weeks that they lived together.
Throughout the show, we saw Coleen at a loss to explain why Julie seemed to dislike her so much, and we never did get to find out what the reason was, but dislike her she certainly did.
And in today’s Daily Star, Coleen has revealed that she did feel “bullied” by Julie, and she felt the ill will from the former Corrie star “ruined” Coleen’s time in the house.
She said, “She did bully me and it ruined my experience completely.
“Bullying is a big word but the fact is she had a clever, manipulative and sneaky way of playing the game… Read more & comment »
However, photographs in today’s Mail online shows a somewhat sedate affair, with the smokers all gathered outside, seemingly chatting in a good natured manner…
But that said, there seems to be no sign of either Julie Goodyear or Jasmine in the images that were captured by Isoimages photographers.
For me, it was my Dream Team line-up for the final three, and if any one of those three had won, I’d have been pleased, but I have to say, I found Julian’s reaction to winning really touching…
Throughout the series, Julian has been very quiet, reserved and dignified, and as my Unreality colleague Daniel has pointed out, he battled his own demons – again, with a quite grace and poise – to go into the house in the first place, which makes his conduct while there even more admirable.
I should also add though that initially, I did feel somewhat disappointed that we weren’t treated to more of Julian’s trademark acerbic and rapier wit, but that said, within a very short time, I began to feel a bit ashamed of myself for that. After all, the man’s not a performing seal and he wasn’t on stage… Read more & comment »
The Celebrity Big Brother final is drawing to a close and this evening, the last choice for viewers was between Coleen Nolan and Julian Clary.
The pair survived all evening, as four of their fellow housemates – Martin Kemp, Ashley McKenzie, The Situation and MC Harvey – were picked off one by one and sent out to be interviewed by host Brian Dowling.
They heard every boo and ever cheer and by the time the show was coming to it’s close, the duo looked so nervous that we wanted to reach out and give them a little hug.
Coleen Nolan doesn’t have much faith in herself it would seem, that or she’s pretending in the hope that she’ll win Celebrity Big brother tonight.
It’s the final night of the Channel 5 reality TV show and the Loose Women star made it to the end, along with Martin Kemp, Ashley McKenzie, Julian Clary, MC Harvey and The Situation. Speaking to Julian a few hours ago, the mum of three confessed that she expected to be the first to leave the house and made her predictions on who would be crowned the champion.
Celebrity Big Brother draws to a close tonight and we have to admit, we are pretty sad. It’s been a great BB summer and we have totally enjoyed the normal series and the subsequent celeb run more than we ever expected to.
Channel 5 have got their lineups right and balanced the drama with the fun perfectly for the last three months…..we’re going to find it hard to wait until January for the next outing.
However, before everything draws to a close we have one last big show to come and on tonight’s grand final one housemate will be crowned the second Celebrity Big Brother winner of 2012 (following in the footsteps of Denise Welch who won her series in January of this year).
