How things change in a week.

Only a few days ago Chris Brosnan was getting it on with Sophie Anderton and Brendan Cole was falling hard for newcomer twin Eve. Now the boys are gearing up to win the hand of the pretty playboy model Colleen Shannon.

Colleen has flirted with all the boys. During the first week it looked as though her and Shane may have something going on, but when that proved fruitless Colleen almost got it on with Chris Brosnan. Then suddenly she was paired with Lee Ottway and there was that whole drama….

Now one partner swop and a pair of hotpants later, and Chris and Brendan are following the blonde beauty around like lovesick teenagers. I wonder who she’ll chose?

“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”, would that make Lee Otway a woman then?

Last night saw Lee running around the Love Island camp, kicking screaming and swearing at fellow celebrities, after finding out that Colleen Shannon doesn’t actually fancy him.

Love Island producers got all Big Brother last night, and introduced a twist that no one would have seen coming. While the boys were having a lads night, and the girls were enjoying a pyjama party, Love Island bosses decided to beam portions of the girls chat onto a TV screen in the boys room. Unfortunately for Colleen, they happened to be chatting about her lack of feelings for Lee.

Colleen confessed: “I just can’t let it go on any longer, I just feel like I’m in sixth grade. I have to go and tell someone I just want to be friends because it’s not like in the outside world where you can just get a call and then say ‘Can I call you back?’”

Devastated Lee burst into tears and wailed “I feel like a right little girl in front of you lot.�

As the boys made to rejoin the girls, Brendan hurriedly warned Colleen about what Lee had heard.

Colleen followed him and exclaimed

“I think you’re the greatest but we’re just better as friends,� she offered. �I was thinking of us being together and trying to see if we were just friends or if it could be something romantic.�

But an angry Lee spat: “F*** you Colleen. You should have said that to me instead of leading me on. It’s not fair. You’ve f***ed with my feelings and f***ed with my head. I hope you know you’ll never meet a guy like me who’ll do anything for you.

“You’re someone I’ve invested a lot of feelings in, who I thought I had a special bond with.�

Lee flew into a rage, kicking a tree in the process, before storming into the Beach Hut and smashing up a £3,000 microphone, hurling things at the screen and then finally threatening to leave!

With any luck he will be evicted tonight, his puppy dog eyes are starting to bother me!

Most of the Love Island celebrities are praying to get sent to the love shack just once, but it seems that Boyzone star Shane Lynch can’t keep away from the place.

As part of the secret ‘who is the sexiest celebrity’ vote, Love Island producers chose the winners Colleen Shannon and Shane Lynch to enter the Love Shack for one night only.

Shane seems to be very happy with the choice of partners, so much so that he even rethought his celibacy vow. I wonder what Sophie will think when the pair return to camp!

I came across an article on the web this evening that suggests Miss Colleen Shannon is much more than just a pretty face (and decent body).:

Seriously, though, it’s an interesting bit of history on Colleen. She’s a bit deeper than….Alicia Douvall for example. Google Alicia and you’ll find nothing but glam shots and party pictures.

It was crunch time this evening on Love Island as Alicia Douvall, Chris Brosnan and Colleen Shannon were selected for eviction.

Panic started to set in when the contestants were told that they would make the final decision who would be evicted. As the first part of the show wrapped, we could hear some of the contestants protesting that they wouldn’t nominate.

When the show came back on, the show producers had persuaded the group that they had to vote, but at the same time Alicia (sensing the axe falling?) walked off the set and refused to come back on!

Patrick Kielty asked the group to reveal their nominations. Although a few of them refused to nominate, those who did chose Alicia for the chop, so her instincts may have been right. Shane Lynch and Kelly Bryan decided not to nominate, and were told that all nominations were to be done this way. Lee “Bombhead” Otway chirped up that he didn’t want to and that the group were a team.

So, Alicia’s gone, and Love Island seems to be taking on the evilness of Big Brother and the nasty tasks of I’m A Celebrity – will this stir tensions within the group? I hope so!

Details of the celebrities salries for Love Island 2006 have been leaked to the press this week.

The highest paid star is Sopie Anderton who will be getting £70,000, closely followed by Lady Victoria Hervey who is being paid £50,000.

Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole is set to earn £40,000, Bianca Gascoigne has been offered £30,000, while Hollyoaks star Lee Ottway and former Boyzone singer Shane Lynch are earning £26,000.

Less well-known stars such as models Alicia Douvall and Colleen Shannon, Pierce Brosnan’s son Chris and singer Leo Ihenacho have signed £20,000 contracts.

According to The People, the contestants will be taxed twice on their earnings – once in Fiji and again in Britain.

“They are very angry,” a source explained. “Someone earning £25,000 can expect to take home around £12,000 after tax.”

Love Island contestant Colleen Shannon was Playboy’s Playmate of the Month in January, 2004 and also was the magazine’s 50th anniversary playmate.

More recently Colleen has toured the world as an accomplished DJ, usually playing hip hop or house music. She has also landed some acting roles in movies such as “Chasing Ghosts”, “The Gene Generation”, “Sci-Fighter” and “Miss Castaway”.

A talented all rounder then…..

The final list of celebrities(?) to take part in this years Love Island series have finally been released.

I can see why they took the word ‘celebrity’ out of the title this year. They should have named it..

“So someone in your family is famous, come and get a tropical shag”
