Alan Carr has claimed that Sir Alan Sugar was “horrible” and “vile” when he took part in BBC’s Comic Relief Does The Apprentice.

The Channel 4 funnyman told new! magazine: “Just how scary is he? He’s horrible. I thought because we were celebrities he’d tone it down, but he was vile and laid into me.

“I used to take the mickey out of the contestants when they cried on The Apprentice, but he had me in tears. I was gulping and had a lump in my throat!”

Carr was also disappointed in the mighty Margaret Mountford when she failed to defend him in the boardroom.

He revealed: “I thought Margaret might support me. I thought: ‘She’s a woman, she’s a bit of a fag hag – she’ll help me’. But she just rolled her eyes.”

Channel 4 comedian Alan Carr has admitted that he, Jonathan Ross and Gok Wan all got very emotional whilst filming for this years Comic Relief Does The Apprentice.

Alan told MSN: “You’re up at 7am then you’ve got to go to bed at 11pm and there’s no outside contact,” he said. “So you know when you see them crying on the show and you go ‘you wuss’… but my god there were bits, I don’t know if they kept it in but I was choked, Gok was upset, Jonathan Ross was a bit.”

However all the tears and dramas were worth it in the end when the boys came up with a product that Alan really believed in:

“I sound really sad because I never thought I would be like that but you’re with it 24 hours a day and I love that product, that product is me, it’s my blood and tears and then when you get some criticism you end up welling up.

“They just stuck the gays together so me and Gok spent a lot of the time together – him mincing around with a handbag and then me behind him with a bin liner.”

Michelle Mone has revealed that she was terrified about the prospect of taking part in this years Celebrity Apprentice.

The founder of Ultimo Lingerie says she was most worried about working with big personalities like Ruby Wax and Patsy Palmer.

Speaking to Take 5 magazine, Mone confirmed: “[It was] incredibly nerve-wracking. I was working with four huge TV stars – Carol Vorderman, Fiona Phillips, Ruby Wax and Patsy Palmer – and I was terrified of how we’d all get along.

“On the real Apprentice, contestants are all in the same boat with nothing to lose. With the celebs, their careers are at stake and everyone knows everything about each other.”

“I was worried about working with Ruby Wax as she’s such a big personality,” she explained. “I thought we’d clash but she’s the kindest, sweetest woman and I really warmed to her.”

Comic Relief Does The Apprentice airs on Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.

Maureen Lipman has revealed that her stint on Comic Relief Does The Apprentice this year will be her last ever foray into the world of reality TV.

Lipman took part in the show along with stars like Carol Vorderman, GMTV’s Fiona Phillips, lingerie guru Michelle Mone and comics Alan Carr and Ruby Wax.

Speaking about the programme, Lipman revealed: “The girls won, and the boys were absolute w***ers. They stole our chef and played dirty. There was so much competitiveness and nastiness between Alastair Campbell, Piers Morgan and the ubiquitous Trinny. That’s what the show became about.

“Me and Jo Brand were given all the menial jobs, like stuffing chickens and cleaning squid, and we had such a ball together.”

She added: “I’d never do any other reality TV. I love dancing, but you’d never get me on Strictly Come Dancing, being criticised by four morons.”
