Helen Flanagan has admitted that now she has a bit of free time on her hands, she would quite like to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.

The brunette beauty recently left ITV soap Coronation Street, where she has played the role of Rosie Webster since she was a child. The actress insisted that she isn’t really into reality TV shows and would never join Celebrity Big Brother, however she thinks she would be quite good on the BBC dance series.

She explained: “I couldn’t do a programme where you’re being watched 24/7, like ‘Big Brother’ or ‘I’m A Celebrity…’

“I would like to learn a new skill, so ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ would be good – but I can’t dance at all. Oh, and there’s no way I could be in ‘Dancing On Ice’. It would be far too terrifying.”

During her interview with Inside Soap, Helen admitted that she found finishing on Corrie very emotional and confessed that she will miss the rest of the Websters, as well as the crew from the show.

Flanagan added:

“Filming my final scenes was really emotional, and I’ll miss my on-screen family. Even though I’ll still seem them, it’ll be strange not having that day-to-day contact.

“It was a big decision for me to leave ‘Corrie’, but it was the right decision for me.”

Meanwhile, in other Strictly news, it has been reported that Arlene Phillips may be returning to the show, to replace Alesha Dixon, who left to judge on Britain’s Got Talent.

StyleJacking was impressed by the Essex girls. We loved Chloe Sims’ regal purple dress which showed off her surgically enhanced assets and Lydia Bright channelled some Hollywood glamour in a black and gold vintage dress – see the photos here.

Amy Childs did not do as well in the fashion stakes with a frilly white number that was just cheap looking! Shona McGarty who plays Whitney Dean in Eastenders also opted for a white dress, this time a shorter number.

Adele Silvia impressed with a little red dress that her character, Kelly Windsor in Emmerdale, would have been proud of unlike Paula Lane who could not have looked less like her Coronation Street character in a long polka dot maxi dress. The dress drowned the actress’s small frame.

Seasoned red carpet regular Michelle Collins looked elegant in a black and gold Grecian style number as she appeared for the first time for Coronation Street.

New mother Holly Willoughby looked cute but StyleJackingdid not like her animal print dress, it was a bit cheap looking!

Corrie babe Brooke Vincent has revealed that she once made a play for Essex’s most loveable lounge crooner James Argent.

The actress, who is best known as Sophie Webster from the ITV soap, admitted that she feel for ‘Arg’ as soon as she clapped eyes on him.

She told Buzz magazine:

“Arg is so cute, I told him I want to marry him. Ditch Lydia and I’ll walk down the aisle with you.”

This seems quite full on for their first encounter and after hearing her comments, a very flattered Arg replied:

“I’ve got to think of Lydia. We’re not going out at the moment, though we are getting on well – so I think I’ve got to be good as gold and not talk to other girls.”

Lydia did not seem too bothered herself, she laughed:

“She’s welcome to him!”

The Sun reports that Andy Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland in Coronation Street was at Friday’s X Factor auditions in Manchester, “in character” as Kirk…

However, Corrie bosses told the paper that Andy wasn’t there as part of a storyline, nor was it a “stunt.”

But the Daily Mirror claims that Andy was in fact filming a storyline for Kirk which is to be shown during the show’s 50th anniversary episodes.

So was it Kirk who was hoping to wow the judges or Andy??

An ITV source told the Daily Star: “There was a rumour she was asked to do Strictly Come Dancing, but she’s more tempted by our show.”

Time will tell as Soapstar Superstar winner, 16 year old Richard Fleeshman plans to leave Coronation Street to pursue a singing career.

Its obvious from the comments on all our Richard Fleeshman articles that the boy is not short of a fan or two. So hopefully Richard will be among the few soap stars turned pop stars who actually make it in the music business!

He said: “There are no tongues in screen kisses – never.”

Richard also revealed to Heat Magazine that he loves his new heart throb status!

He said “It’s a lovely compliment. I just have to take it in my stride really….. It is a bit mad… I don’t know what to say about it, really. I’m just a bit dazed by it all, but I have to get on with it.”

“It has been extraordinary,” says Sue. “I’ve got a list of record labels as long as my arm, and they’re all major companies.

“They are all saying wonderful things and are eager for Richard to sign with them, but we’re not rushing into any decisions.

“At the moment, we are having lots of discussions and seeing what deals are being offered.”

However Richard has no immediate plans to leave his train to fame Coronation Street,

“He is very happy in the Street and, at the end of the day, he’s not going to rush into anything,” she adds.

“Richard doesn’t want to do anything quickly or to cover anyone’s songs and release a quick album off the back of Soapstar Superstar.

“He had a good time on the show, but it’s time to step back, take things slowly and develop as an artist, as he wants very much to continue writing his own songs.”

Sounds like Richard has a very wise head on those ever so young shoulders!
