We’ve been waiting all day and at 9.55pm this evening, this year’s first full length Big Brother promo aired on Channel 5.

It was like a who’s who of famous BB faces from years gone by and we had quite a lot of fun spotting and naming some of our favourite (and also most annoying) housemates.

We have compiled most of them in a list below, though we know there are some names missing, so feel free to leave a comment below if you can identify any more.

The video starts out with Makosi on the phone and leads into various cast members dancing and miming to an adaptation of David Guetta’s popular dance track – When Love Takes Over renamed When Bruv Takes Over and at the end, as all the BB stars gathered in what looked like a massive field, Marcus Bentley exclaimed:

‘It’s back and it’s ready to take over your summer! Big Brother 2011 starts with Celebrity Big Brother, coming soon to Channel 5.’

Channel 5 has finally announced some Big Brother news and has started supplying some hard facts and details about the upcoming series.

This morning it has been confirmed that Brian Dowling will present the main show, with Emma Willis as the host of it’s nightly spinoff and on the cover of today’s Daily Star a whole host of former housemates have been featured in a photo shoot to promote the new series.

In the photo splashed across the front of the newspaper are Pete Bennett, Craig Phillips, Nikki Grahame, Victor Ebuwa, Samanda, Glyn Wise and Nichola Holt and a few more familiar faces.

Michelle Bass also confirmed recently that she worked on a new ad for Big brother’s return, she tweeted:

“long day filming today but so lovely to see old faces again! excited for the new bb series to start!”

The ad is said to feature around 500 extras, and around 20 former stars of the show. As well as those mentioned above, the ex-housemates will also include Makosi Musambasi, Saskia Howard-Clarke, Josie Gibson, Jodie Marsh, John McCririck, Nick Bateman, Mutya Buena, Alex Reid and Chantelle Houghton!

Celebrity Big brother launches on Channel 5 next month and will be succeeded by a non-celeb version straight away.

Big Brother’s Little Brother presenter George Lamb has thrown his backing behind the first ever BB winner Craig Phillips, saying he should win this year’s ‘Ultimate Champion’ show.

Big Brother sources revealed yesterday that when the current series draws to a close in eleven weeks time, the winner will remain in the house and will be joined by at least twelve former BB winners and stars. The winner of that two week series will be crowned ‘Big Brother’s Ultimate Champion.’

George Lamb says that Scouser Craig should take the title, because he is so nice.

He told The Sun: “I love Craig – he is the original and best. He has got great energy and is an amazing guy.

“He proved that nice guys don’t have to come last.”

Former Big Brother housemates Craig Phillips and Nick Bateman have hinted that they may be returning to the show this summer.

Big Brother 11 kicks off tomorrow night on Channel 4 and executive producer Phil Edgar Jones teased us last week, saying that we could expect to see some ‘familiar faces’ in the house.

In an interview with BBC Radio 4′s Front Row programme, former winner Craig Phillips and ‘Nasty’ Nick Bateman admitted:

“We might show our face in there, yes.”

Both men went on to agree that the final series should have centered around the show’s 10 previous winners,as well as other famous housemates including Nick himself.

“Perhaps even a Big Brother worldwide with the most notable contestants might work,” said Bateman.

“But that’s for the producers or a new channel to explore.”

The original Big Brother winner Craig Phillips, has called for Channel 4 to make next years final series an allstars version.

Channel 4 and Endemol have confirmed that the 2010 series will be its last and Phillips thinks that a fitting final would feature all the shows previous winner and notable housemates. They could even have a cardboard cutout of Jade Goody placed, naked in the corner.

“I think the best thing for next year’s final show would be for C4 to go out with a bang in style by making 2010 a best of the best show – with all the ten winners, perhaps some surprise Celebrity BB housemates and notable BB contestants from the years entering the house.

“I think the public would be engaged with their favourite characters returning and it would be great to see how the winners bond or not bond as the case may be.

“This would be a great way to celebrate one of the most important shows in recent television history.”

He continued: “Imagine how a Geordie stud, a Welsh actress and model, a Scottish fisherman-turned-broadcaster, a transgender, a Tourettes sufferer, an Essex boy, an Irish gay gent, a top lady DJ, this year’s winner and myself, a Liverpudlian builder, would get on!

“We all might have something to prove as we are all competitive and would like to be the ultimate Big Brother winner. We would all be competing hard to win the public’s votes and perhaps funds could go to appropriate cancer charities in memory of Jade Goody.”

He added: “I for one would certainly be happy to discuss something like this with Endemol and C4, and would be willing to help them to bring all the winners together and make this final year as exciting and entertaining as possible.”

Big Brother’s Little Brother will tomorrow see a welcome return of some very special guests.

Winners from the past ten series of Big Brother will be joining George Lamb on the sofa to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the show.

Tune in on Friday to see Craig Phillips (BB1), Nadia Almada(BB5), Anthony Hutton (BB6) Pete Bennett (BB7), Brian Belo (BB8), Rachel Rice (BB9) reminisce on their time in the House and give their views on the BB10 Housemates. “Nasty” Nick Bateman will also be appearing alongside celeb fan Keith Lemon and Heat Magazine’s Lucie Cave.

Big Brother celebrates its tenth anniversary on the 18th July, so this week becomes a commemoration of some of the best tasks and moments of the show over the last ten years.

This week’s Task runs across four days, with Housemates playing to win a luxury food budget for the next week. Housemates must succeed in seven of the nine challenges in order to successfully pass the shopping task and receive a luxury budget of £5 per head per day for the next week.

Moments ago Housemates cheered and clapped when they heard that they will take part in a series of tasks from all of the previous series of the show. Marcus correctly guessed that Big Brother “might bring in people from those series as well”.

Tasks will be introduced chronologically: three tasks on days one and two, two on day three and Buzz from BB9 on the final day.

Without knowing what each task involves Housemates were given three minutes to allocate themselves to a Big Brother year. This sparked great interest and arguments in the House as each tried to decide which series was their favourite.

After picking the first series Halfwit was called into the diary room to receive instructions for the first challenge.

On reading out instructions to the rest of the House Halfwit revealed that he will be going head to head with a former Housemate. This revelation was met with screams from the rest of the Housemates.

Halfwit immediately began limbering up and Siavash helped him warm up before he entered the garden to take part in the task.

BB1 – ASSAULT COURSE with BB1 winner Craig

This iconic task from the first series of Big Brother will be replicated faithfully in the Garden. One of this year’s Housemates will take on BB1 winner Craig in a head-to-head – if this year’s Housemate beats Craig’s time then they will win their challenge.

As Craig was revealed to the other Housemates, who had to remain in the house, Dogface revealed “I used to fancy him”.

Before the task Craig and Halfwit chatted about the Big Brother experience. Halfwit revealed that other than himself he would like Marcus or Charlie to win.

As Craig stood at the start line Halfwit said “I hope you won’t try to hard to which Craig replied “I’ll take my time as you’s need to eat”.

As Halfwit lined up Craig wished him the best of luck. Craig cheered Halfwit on the whole time said “stay balanced, stay focused” . Halfwit fell off the see-saw and had to retry this item of apparatus.

Two more tasks will take place in the House today.

Big Brother sources have revealed that previous winner Craig Phillips is to step in as the interactive team’s site editor this week.

Craig will take over the site on Wednesday and will spend the day “generally messing about”, show bosses revealed.

Phillips recently told newspapers that he thought BB should end after the current series.

The original Big Brother winner Craig Phillips has said that he has seen enough of the reality TV show now and would like it to end sometime soon.

In an interview with The Sun Craig says that he thinks the show has no place left to go and that it shouldn’t bother with next years series.

He told the newspaper:

“I would like to see it end now. I know they’ve got a licence for an 11th series, but whether it should come back next year is another matter.”

He explained: “It’s difficult for the producers to do anything that hasn’t been seen before. You can’t change what the format of the show is – all bosses can do is to introduce tasks and take contestants in and out.

“But those are all the usual tactics. It needs another flavour to it to make it work, a surprise element to spice it up.”

Big Brother 1 winner Craig Phillips has claimed that Jade Goody was “a total nightmare”.

The pair lived together whilst appearing on the Five’s ‘Back To Reality’ in 2004 and Craig says he was often shocked by Jade’s behaviour.

“It was really sad what happened to Jade. In her last six months she did a lot of good work raising awareness of cervical cancer,” Phillips told Take 5 magazine.

“But when I met her on that show she was a total nightmare. I found her really difficult to live with. She was argumentative, aggressive and I had a load of run-ins with her.

“Everyone is being nice about Jade since she died, even people who slagged her off before. But that wasn’t my experience of her. I wasn’t a friend of Jade.”

You have to admire Craig’s honesty in this matter. There is nothing I hate more than people who rewrite history when someone dies!
