The second episode of BBC One’s The Magicians aired on Saturday, 14th January, with another fantastic and dazzling show.

Presented by Darren McMullen, the second of six episodes saw magical duo Barry and Stuart paired with Strictly Come Dancing judge, Craig Revel-Horwood. Their live trick included Craig having his head chopped off in a guillotine – certainly not a trick to try at home.

Craig also performed a pirate dance which involved him dancing, dressed as a pirate, with Barry and Stuart.

For their location grand illusion it was an all action escapology trick as Craig was handcuffed and locked in the boot of a moving car packed full of explosives. The car burst into a fireball as it careered over the side of a quarry before Craig spectacularly and miraculously appeared in a helicopter which rose above the flames.

Craig Revel Horwood has admitted that he recently had breast reduction surgery.

The Strictly Come Dancing judge was worried about his ever growing moobs and instead of adopting a regime of healthy eating and exercise, he decided to go under the knife and have them chopped off instead.

The nasty tongued dance expert told The Mirror that his surgeon brought the breasts down from a size c cup to an a cup and now he can dance without getting two black eyes….unless he teams up with Ann Widdecombe again!

The star confessed:

“I couldn’t cha-cha-cha about without them jigging in my face.

“I was fed up with having t**s so I had them hoovered away and now I feel fabulous. I’d say I went from a C-cup down to an A-cup. I’m finally flat-chested again.”

It isn’t the first time Craig has went under the knife either, as he previously admitted to having a nose job when he was just 18 years old…what’s next? A sex change operation?

Craig Revel Horwood has predicted that The X Factor will be lucky to last another year, if there isn’t a major shakeup of the format very soon.

The acid tongued dance expert – who is heading to Blackpool this weekend for the final of Strictly Come Dancing – hit out at the ITV show, saying that the ratings drop this year is indicative of the public’s fatigue with the faked fights, the big characters with no talent and the regular ‘surprises’ that don’t shock anyone.

Craig thinks X Factor bosses have lost their way, no longer focusing on the talent but instead centering on what will get them the most newspaper and magazine coverage.

Explaining that if he were in charge, he’d bring the format back to basics and make it all about the singers, Craig told The Sun:

“It will be lucky to last another year. How many viewers have they lost this series? Three, four million? It’s just been woeful. Where has all the talent gone? They showcase all the wrong types of acts.

“The UK is filled with so many amazing, talented singers but they were nowhere to be seen on screen.

“With shows like X Factor and Strictly, you have to make it about the contestants, not the judges or the controversy.”

BBC’s very own Mr Nasty is feeling cocky, after his show consistently beat it’s ITV rival on Saturday nights this year. Explaining the differences between the two series’, he continued:

“If you have good contestants with good fun, different personalities, you’ll have a good show. That is why Strictly will last 20 years and X Factor is already past it.

“Bruno, Len, Alesha and I don’t make the show about us. We’re not biased about performers. I mean, Gary Barlow praising Frankie Cocozza? Please.

“And look who won this year — a girl band made up of rejected average solo singers. That just sums up X Factor this year.”

Craig Revel Horwood has hit out at James and Ola Jordan, who have been complaining about being dropped from this year’s Strictly Come Dancing tour.

The married couple were informed of the boss’s decision yesterday by email and were told that they would not be ‘needed’ for the nationwide tour, meaning that Ola’s partner Robbie Savage will have to dance with another female professional.

James took to Twitter on hearing the news and blasted:

“Myself and Ola will definitely NOT be doing the Strictly Tour! Just received an E-MAIL to say we are not needed!!”

However his attitude did not go down well with Craig Revel Horwood, who is the tour’s director and plans which dancers will take part. He has told The Sun that it was only fair to give some other professional’s a chance this year and insisted that the couple are taking his decision much too personally.

He said:

“James needs to reel his head in. He’s being incredibly selfish and rude moaning on Twitter about not doing the tour.

“Not every dancer can do the tour. He needs to let other people have a chance. Katya (Virshilas) has never done the tour before and she’s coming this year.

“Why should Ola and James always get to do it and never Katya? My advice to them would be to quit moaning, reel your head in and get on with it. It’s nothing personal.”

While we certainly understand Craig’s point, we think there is more to this decision than meets the eye.

It seems to us as if James may be being taught a lesson, after a series of on screen rows with show judges in recent weeks. However, he probably has a right to be upset at being informed by email, that always is the coward’s way out wouldn’t you agree?

Just a week after Strictly Come Dancing presenter Bruce Forsyth hit out at the X Factor for being ‘staged’, show judge Craig Revel Horwood has gotten in on the act.

The sharp tongued dance expert has claimed that the reason so many people are tuning out of the ITV series, while his BBC show thrives, is because the X Factor is ‘over produced.’

Speaking on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man the camp star explained:

“It’s over-produced.”

“They should go back to having auditions just as plain as they used to be.”

When the X Factor started, contestants auditioned in a small room for the three celebrity judges. Now there are four judges and thousands of audience members for each tryout.

However, fellow Strictly panelist Alesha doesn’t see the problem and insisted that people will tune back into the ITV show, when they get used to not having Simon Cowell around. She added:

“When there’s a bit of change people get a bit funny with it but next year you will be used to the new judges’ line-up and everyone will be cool with it again.”

The remaining four X Factor contestants are about to embark on the X Factor semi final weekend, where they will perform two songs each in a bid to avoid elimination and make the final show.

Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Ola Jordan has admitted that she is furious with show judge Craig Revel Horwood.

On last week’s show, the sharp tongued dance expert told One Show host Alex Jones that she looked “sexless, cold and stiff” on the dancefloor.

Hotting back, Ola told The Sun’s Buzz magazine:

“No girl wants to hear that she is not sexy.”

“It’s not fair. I’m so glad Alex was paired with James – he says the things people really think. I love how honest he is.”

Ola also blasted the panel for constantly criticising the professional’s choreography, insisting that they know best what their partners can cope with. She added:

“All the judges need to be more careful about their comments on the choreography. We know what our celebrities can and can’t do. The judges couldn’t do what we do with them.”

Speaking of the judges’ talent, Ola laughed:

“They’d definitely lose against us! I wouldn’t even bother to challenge them to try!”

But the blonde beauty does have a soft spot for a certain judge and she confessed that she missed Len Goodman when he was replaced on the panel a few weeks ago. Ola said:

“It’s refreshing to have guest judges like [Dirty Dancing star] Jennifer Grey on the show. But we didn’t really get anything from her with her comments. I missed Len.”

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has claimed that he could save the X Factor from it’s current ratings crisis….and he’d only charge £5 million.

The sharp tongued dance expert has seen his BBC show riding high in the ratings, bringing in more viewers than it’s ITV rival for the first time in four years last week.

Speaking to The Mirror, Mr Nasty said:

“If Simon paid me £5million then I’d save The X Factor!”

“I think I could do it, all he needs to do is ask.”

The Australian star revealed that he thinks the reason the show is failing this year is not just because of the new panel and it’s lack of Cowell power, but he thinks they’ve all forgotten that it’s supposed to be a talent show.

Revel Horwood says things focus too heavily on the judges and not enough on the contestants and added:

“X Factor is based on the talent on the stage. It’s supposed to find the next superstar, and I think they’ve forgotten that.

“Everyone knows if you’ve got a bunch of talented people, then it’s going to be great entertainment. But if they can’t sing and they can’t move, then what is the programme selling? The judges?

“The show at the moment is all about the judges and it’s got to be about the talent.

“Who is going to tune in to watch Louis Walsh? No one.

“I wouldn’t even put Louis Walsh in one of my shows!”

Robbie Savage may not be the best dancer left in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing competition, but he may well be the sexiest!

The football star took to the dancefloor on Saturday night’s show and left the nation’s pulses racing with his constant thrusting and groin grabbing.

He was dancing to Michael Jackson’s BAD for the Halloween themed show and no, his routine wasn’t very energetic.

Liveblogging the episode, our writer Gerard observed:

Unless Robbie’s playing this routine in character as a zombie, this is the most lethargic dance routine of the night.

However, it was quite suggestive and our favourite moment of the night was when the blonde haired hunk jumped onto the judges table and thrust so hard, that his groin almost collided with Craig Revel Horwood’s face!

Craig Revel-Horwood has claimed that Strictly Come Dancing will have an ‘advantage’ this year, as Simon Cowell’s departure from The X Factor may hurt their ratings.

The two reality TV shows go head to head on Saturday night’s each autumn, but Strictly traditionally under-performs in the ratings battle, as it loses out to X Factor’s sensationalism and spin.

However, nasty judge Craig thinks things may be different in 2011, as the entire panel lineup has changed on the ITV show, which may help his series to gain a foothold and win over some previously uninterested viewers.

He said:

“Simon leaving ‘The X Factor’ will put a dampener on it. Who’s going to replace him? It will potentially give us an advantage.”

Revel-Horwood added: “Is ‘the X Factor’ going to be rubbish this year? Well, it has always been rubbish, hasn’t it darling?

“Although some of our dancers have a way to go yet, ‘Strictly’ will win this year.”

However, the tough talking panellist has issued a warning to celebrity dancers on his show, saying that they need to up their game for this Saturday’s episode as he was less than impressed by their first outing on the dance floor last week.

He said: “The celeb routine they did on the unveiling show was absolute carnage. I hope they all get it together over the next few weeks.”

Craig Revel Horwood has admitted that he’s not looking forward to working with Edwina Currie on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The acid tongued judge of the BBC reality TV series has previously predicted that the former Conservative minister – best known for her salmonella scandal and her affair with John Major – will become a bit of an Anne Widdecombe figure and after the new contestants’ first rehearsals in London yesterday, he told The Sun:

“I think she could potentially be a nightmare on the show.”

However, the Australian star IS looking forward to watching about Sven-Goran Eriksson’s ex Nancy Dell’Olio strut her stuff on the dance floor. Speaking about the sex mad brunette beauty he added:

“She’s glamorous, she’s 50, she’s fabulous — let’s hope her dancing is as fabulous as her body.”
