Contestants on this weeks Dancing On Ice Christmas special have been told to cut down on their Christmas treats as they all turned out to be to podgy for their revealing costumes.
Suzanne Shaw, Zaraah Abrahams, Clare Buckfield, Chris Fountain, Duncan James, and Kyran Bracken, have all starred on previous series of the show, but costume designers were stunned when they turned up for fittings and not one fitted into their outfits.
Former Blue singer, Duncan James gave a spectacular show of his ice skating skills this week at a party for Amarula sponsorship at Canary Wharf.
Duncan wowed audiences last year on ITV’s Danicng On Ice and at the party this week he did some ice skating with his partner and then brought some members of the audience on the ice rink and skated with them.
I wish I had been there, the chance to get up close and personal with hunky Dunky would have been too good to miss!
Apprentice reject, Raef Bjayou, has been tipped for this years Dancing On Ice extravaganza.
Apparently Raef tried out for the show earlier this month and amused producers by performing in a full suit and cravat.
“He was hilarious and proved to be a big hit,” an insider told the Daily Star Sunday. “Most people turn up to train in professional gear – but Raef proved a bit different. He’s now a hot favourite to take part.”
Dancing On Ice runner up, Chris Fountain has revealed that he would love to land a major role in a West End production!
Chris, 20, told The Daily Star: “When I was younger I performed in Les Misérables twice, and Oliver.
“I’d love to be big in a West End show.
“I’ve even been subtly trying to plant the idea in Lord Lloyd-Webber’s head that I could be the next Joseph after Lee Mead finishes.” Read more & comment »
Dancing On Ice runner up, Chris Fountain, may become the latest celebrity to get paid a fortune to not write his own autobiography.
Chris revealed that he has been offered an obscene amount of money to tell some writer the story of his (quite short) life, while they then go away and do all the hard work.
He told the Daily Star: “I have done a lot despite being only 20. The money they are offering is pretty mad so who knows?
“It could all come off and be out in time for Christmas.”
Is anyone else wondering how Chris is going to stretch out tales of his Ice Hockey team, and life on Hollyoaks for a whole book? I’m not sure how riveting the story will be.
Dancing On Ice winner, Suzanne Shaw is ro marry her boyfriend of three years, Jason King, according to friends.
“Suzanne has been on a complete high since winning the show,” a source told the Daily Star Sunday. “She’s been with JK for almost three years and they’re very settled. They’re in no rush to get hitched and both agree that next summer would be the perfect time.
“Suzanne knows exactly what she wants for her big day and it’s going to be a very glitzy affair. After Darren she never dreamed she’d find happiness again, let alone want to get married. But Jason is perfect for her. He’s a brilliant dad to Corey and they’re a very happy family.”
Chris Fountain may have been tipped to win last night’s Dancing On Ice TV show, but who could have doubted that Suzanne Shaw would steal the crown after watching this amazing performance?
In case you missed last nights show, here is the routine that earned Suzanne her perfect score of thirty from the judges.
Dancing On Ice runner-up, Zaraah Abrahams, revealed on GMTV this morning, that she would have loved to have done the Bolero on Sunday night, but now hopes to perform the routine during the tour.
Speaking after coming third on the ice show, Zaraah said she had a “brilliant time” taking part, despite the nerves and pressure: “The pressure was there to skate well. You can’t think about winning. If you do it throws you off. So the pressure for us was to go out there and prove that we deserve to be in the final.”
The actress described training for the Bolero as “amazing”, and said: “I hope to do it on the tour.” Zaraah’s dancing partner, Fred Palascak, added: “If you do well in the tour, at end the end of the show you get to do the Bolero so it’s just like the television show.” Read more & comment »
After six months of gruelling training, spending close to 600 hours on the ice, and having been whittled down from twelve, the three remaining celebrities battled it out in the final of Dancing on Ice.
The three finalists first had to do a dance involving a flying element, and then each had to perform their favourite performance from all their dances so far.
Tonight everything was about the PUBLIC vote. While the judges gave marks, tonight these didn’t count, and the public vote only determined who won.
While Zaraah narrowly avoided a wardrobe malfunction, Suzanne received the first ever double clean sweep of 6’s by the judges dancing to Time to Say Goodbye and both Music by Madonna. Her performance left her, Jayne Torvill, Holly Willoughby, Karen Barber and her son Corey in the audience in floods of tears! Read more & comment »
I just watched Torvill and Dean perform ‘The Bolero’ on the Dancing On Ice final, and my heart is pounding in my chest.
I love to watch Torville and Dean skate at any time, but I especially look forward to this routine throughout the whole series, it is never one that gets old.
The pair look so at ease on the ice, and the whole routine, complicated as it is, looks completely effortless.
In reality I’m still not sure if my heart is pounding because of the magic of The Bolero, or because of Christopher Deans gorgeous bum in those tight skating trousers…..Yum!
TV’s real Mr Nasty, Jason Gardiner has hit out at the two celebrities most likely to win tonight’s Dancing On Ice final.
Jason is backing Coronation Street actress Zaraah Abrahams to win, but hasn’t many nice things to say about Suzanne Shaw or Chris Fountain.
His sharp tongue lashed out at Suzanne first when he told The News Of The World:
“She’s still using the sympathy vote which is unnecessary at this stage of the competition. Skating’s dangerous – Torvill and Dean are constantly getting hurt. In the end I feel most people yawn, ‘Oh God, she’s whingeing again.”
“It’s a negative strategy and she’s good enough to be able to stand on her work alone. The bottom line is everyone’s been hurt. It’s just the way it goes.”
Jason added he believes Hollyoaks actor Chris is selfish.
“He’s not a generous partner. It’s all about Chris. He’s a young lad and he’s in a self-consumed bubble,” he says. Read more & comment »
Dancing On Ice finalist, Chris Fountain has hit out at claims that due to his ice hocky experience, he had a massive advantage over the other competitors on this years show.
Chris told The Sun:
“Obviously, I had balance on the ice so I had a bit of an advantage. But at the same time that’s countered by me having to change my whole style and posture.
“I’m used to being bent over double for ice hockey, rather than keeping my back nice and straight.
“Also, I’ve pushed myself really hard and attempted more difficult moves — like the axel spin last week.
“Granted I’ve had a bit of experience, but at the same time I’ve tried to put in as much effort as any of the contestants.
“Suzanne and Zaraah are much more graceful than me. I’m getting there but it doesn’t come naturally to me.”
Suzanne agrees: “People might think Chris has an advantage. Others might say Zaraah and I have both danced before, so the competition is unfair on Chris. We’re all trying hard and he’s a great skater.” Read more & comment »
Natalie Pinkham is determined to steal the show when she returns to Dancing On Ice on Sunday night.
The Heart FM DJ was voted off the show in her second week, but will return with her fellow competitors for one last routine in the final this weekend.
Natalie told Heart: “I’m hoping that a boob may pop out because it be my one way of guaranteeing some attention, so I’m thinking Janet Jackson-esque performance.” Read more & comment »
