Suzanne accepted the award, and spoke out against many people’s attitudes to single parents.
She said: “It really does annoy me when people criticise single mums. I remember experiencing it when my mum divorced my dad and going to church and being told that divorce was wrong.
“My mum ran out in tears. I would rather my mum was happy than unhappy.
“I’m absolutely disgusted by it. I turn my back on people like that. We don’t become mothers because we don’t want to stay with our partners. I’m giving Corey a good a life as anybody.” Read more & comment »
TV veteran, Bruce Forsyth has remarked that he thinks there are far too many reality TV shows, and that soon people will tire of the format.
MSN quotes the soon to be Knighted Brucie as saying: “For me, there’s too much. X Factor is a great show and I’m not saying there’s not room for that as a show, but too many reality shows have happened.
“The public are starting to think, ‘Is there anything else but reality? What did we do before reality? Were we entertained? And if we were did we enjoy it?’ Personally, I’ve had enough of reality. I want to see performers performing. Read more & comment »
Dancing On Ice judge, Nicky Slater made last night’s live show by the skin of his teeth, after he rushed to the studio just minutes after his wife gave birth.
It was during rehearsals for the show that his wife, Christianne, first went into labour, and of course Nicky went to be by her side. But just moments after his baby son was born, Nicky rushed back to the Elstree studios to film last night’s show.
A source told The Sun: “Christianne told him to go. The birth went very well and she told Nicky to do the show.”
Linda Lusardi has skated for the last time on ITV1’s TV show, Dancing On Ice.
Linda ended up in the bottom two tonight along with Coronation Street’s Zaarah, but predictable, all the judges voted to let Linda leave.
On hearing the news, Linda Lusardi said: “I’ve had a ball I really have. It had to end one night, and it was tonight!”
I was sad to see the back of Linda. She was never the most talented skaters on the show, not even close, but she and her partner Daniel had the most amazing chemistry. Linda obviously really loved taking part in the. show, and she put her heart and soul into each performance. Read more & comment »
Dancing on Ice judge, Nicky Slater, told GMTV this week that he could be fired for giving Suzanne Shaw a controversially low score on Sunday’s show.
Nicky defended his frosty comments saying, “It’s ‘Dancing On Ice’, it’s not ‘Lifting On Ice.’”
However, the ice-skating star revealed he could be in hot water after his remarks caused a row among the judges last week.
“There is a bit of an issue here. The skaters are given the choreography of what to do. So in a way, Suzanne is getting caught between me asking for something which is a balanced routine, and what she’s been given. So I might get sacked actually, because I’m actually questioning the balance of the routine. So in a way, I should just talk about what is performed.”
Steve Backley has faced his fourth skate off tonight, and finally his luck ran out when he found himself up against Coronation Street actress Zaraah Abrahams.
It was no surprise that all the judges chose to save Zaraah. Steve has been skating on thin ice (did you like what I did there?) for weeks now.
Jason Gardiner said: “This is one Boomerang that’s not coming back.”
On hearing the news, Steve said: “I’m disappointed to go and there is no getting away from that. I am gutted. Having the prosthetic hip is a big deal, my stumbling block is getting over that but I am delighted to have got this far. To have worked with all these people, Chris and Jayne as well and even the judges.” Read more & comment »

Now I know that Tim Vincent has had a bad week, what with getting kicked out of Dancing On Ice and all that, but I didn’t think his career had slipped this low.
If we listened to Tim, he would have us believe that he was just about to conquer the American TV industry, but surely if this was true, the ’superstar’ wouldn’t have the time to film this slightly cheesy government advertisment for ethical Valentines day gifts.
Tonight, TV presenter Tim Vincent became the fifth celebrity to leave ITV’s Dancing On Ice.
At the end of the results show, Tim Vincent and Steve Backley found themselves in the skate off having received the least public votes. It was a unanimous decision from the judges and they all chose to save Steve Backley.
Tim Vincent: “It’s been fantastic every week been fantastic but I’ve found my level this week, everyone has been brilliant.”
To be honest I think that once again the judges made the right decision, not only was Tim a pretty bad skater, but with his frequent trips to America, he never seemed as committed Read more & comment »
Dancing On Ice presenter, Holly Willoughby has revealed that she intends to keep on showing off her assets, despite ITV receiving a few complaints about her ample cleavage.
Holly told The Sun: “I’m proud of my curves, I’m not going to wear dresses up to my neck – that’s just not me.
“I have boobs and hips and I dress to accommodate them – that’s not going to change.”
The blonde beauty added: “My husband loves what I wear and he loves my body.
“There were only five complaints. ITV bosses were happy with the dress.”
Coronation Street actress Zaraah Abrahams has revealed that despite the the gruelling training schedule on ITV’s Dancing On Ice, she has actually put weight on.
She told The Sun: “I’ve actually put on weight, but I’m telling myself that it’s all because muscle weighs more than fat, and I do seem to have built a lot of muscle.
“And the skating has made a great difference to my figure - I’ve even got `visible’ knees for the first time.”
Dancing On Ice competitors, Greg Rusedski And Gareth Gates, have been struck down by a severe tummy bug. The illness has left them unable to do any real training this week and now they only have three full days in which to learn their new routines.
A show source told The Sun: “The boys are really sick. It’s hard because they’re both competitive and just want to get out there.
“The other stars hope this means they’ve got the edge.”
Dancing On Ice bosses are said to have approached X Factor choreographer, Brian Friedman and asked him to help competitor Steve Backley with his dance moves.
Steve came in the bottom two couples last week, and has consistently been told that he needs to loosen up.
A source told The Sun: “Steve’s skating is fine but he’s useless at the dance side. Steve sees Brian as his secret weapon. He is desperate not to be in the bottom two again this week.” Read more & comment »
