The People newspaper reports that Susan Boyle’s representative has confirmed that the controversial singer is set to perform on a future episode of Dancing with the Stars.

Apparently, Subo will fly to Los Angeles in the early part of next week in order to prepare for her performance.

Susan’s brother John is quoted in the paper as saying, “She’s excited and happy.

“She loves America and loves the people. She appreciates their honesty.”

Susan has of course previously performed on America’s Got Talent, where her singing gained her a new army of fans ahead of the release of her album, I Dreamed A Dream, which is due to be on sale from November 23rd.

Dancing With Stars insiders have confirmed, that the show will be staging a tribute to the late Patrick Swayze on the 23rd of September.

The performances will be inspired by Patrick’s moves on his hit movie, Dirty Dancing. He was one of the few people to integrate dance with being an A-list actor,” said producer Conrad Green. “He inspired many people and many of our pros to dance. We want to honor the great moments he’s brought to film by getting our dancers to do their interpretation to some music from his films.”

As the man who refused to put Baby in a corner, Patrick Swayze appeared on the first season of Dancing with the Stars. He starred in an episode in order to assist friend and fellow actor John O’Hurley learn a few moves.

Kelly Osbourne has criticised stars who lend their name to fashion lines they didn’t design.

The singer/TV star admitted that she has had lots of offers to start a range but has so far turned it down.

“The wardrobe department on Dancing with the Stars are teaching me how to sew, but I don’t think I’m ready to bring out a range of clothes yet at my age,” she told The Mirror.

“I know Lily Allen has done it but I want to do it all by myself and not just attach my name to it. That’s not fashion to me. I could do that now if I wanted to. If I were to produce a range, I wouldn’t even call it my name.”

Kelly Osbourne has admitted that she had an ulterior motive for agreeing to appear on Dancing With Stars.

Kelly revealed to EW.com that she turned down DWTS bosses for eight years running but said that she decided to sign up this year “mainly because it really scares me.”

“It’s one of those shows that a lot of people who are trying to revamp their career go into and do,” she said of her earlier reticence to sign on. “And moody me would be like, oh, that’s sad, I’m not doing that. But secretly, I’m like, look how fit they get and look at those amazing dresses they get made for them and they look like they’re having so much fun.

“I’m turning 25 during the show and I just don’t want to have any regrets anymore, I just wanna have fun. How many people in the world get an opportunity like this…and get paid for it?”

Melissa Joan Hart aka Sabrina The Teenage Witch has admitted that she “always wanted to be a dancer”.

Hart has singed up for this years Dancing With The Stars extravaganza and is busting for the show to start.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, she said: “If you had asked me my entire life, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ I was, ‘I want to be dancer’.

“This is my opportunity to get out there and actually perform… [To] dance with a pro and have to compete against pros in the actual costumes, in front of a live audience… This is everything I’ve always dreamed of in a condensed amount of time.”

The actress added: “I’m just bracing myself for the kind of, you know, rigorous routine. For a few weeks, a few months I get to be a professional ballroom dancer and that’s going to be amazing and such hard work and I’m ready for it.”

Former teenage heartthrob, Donny Osmond, has insisted that he has to beat his sister’s record when he appears on Dancing With Stars.

Donny’s sister Marie finished in third place in the fifth season of the show, her most memorable moment being her faint at the end of a samba performance.

Donny told Entertainment Tonight: “People will come up to me and say, ‘Don’t faint!’ Do you know how many times I’ve heard that in the last two years? I’m thinking about doing a whole dance number doing nothing but fainting!

“But if I do half as well as my sister, I will be happy. She did such a great job and set the bar really high for me. I can’t let my sister beat me! Which is why I have to do this!”

He added: “I finally gave in [to Dancing], but here’s the problem – the timing couldn’t be worse! I’m doing a full production show in Las Vegas every week and I’m doing Dancing With The Stars on top of it. I must be an idiot!”

Kelly Osbourne has signed up for this years Dancing With Stars and today admitted that she is “terrified” about taking part.

Speaking on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show, she said: “I’m so excited, but I cannot tell you how terrified I am.

“Dancing to me is like something I’ve always really wanted to be able to do, but have never had the confidence… I’m not very graceful – I wanted to do something that scared me, and I don’t think that anything could scare me more!”

She added: “I don’t care if I win. I’m not doing this to try and prove I’m better than someone else, I’m doing this because it scares me.”

Dancing With Stars have announced their lineup for 2009 and with 16 contestants it will be the biggest show yet.

Dancing With The Stars is America’s answer to Strictly Come Dancing. In fact so similar is the show that they have the same theme music, two of the same judges and even an identical glitter ball!

This year some of their contestants seem familiar to me too, Steve Wozniak in particular stands out as the new American John Sergeant.

On last years Strictly John won the hearts of viewers with his crap dancing and funny ways, in the end he dropped out of the competition for fear that he might actually win. From the moment Apple founder Steve Wozniak stepped onto the dance floor, resplendent in his pink feather boa, it was clear that he intended to play the Sergeant card. Instead of stomping like John, Steve minced about the floor but his skill level was about the same. He made funny gestures, pulled strange faces and minced about the floor for almost two minutes.

It’s not yet clear how long these antics will work for Steve, after all Todd Carty on Dancing On Ice tried the same but ultimately failed. However I suspect that the whole Sergeant debacle has now set a precedent, maybe next year we will see John Candy hamming it up on the dance floor in a bid to reignite his career.

Former Bond Girl and reality TV star, Denise Richards has revealed that she is terrified of performing on this years Dancing With Stars series.

Richards told Access Hollywood that she has never danced before.

“I’m so terrified and scared,” she admitted. “I was kicked out of a tap class when I was three years old because I was really bad and had two left feet so I’ve always had this fear with it.”

Richards has been taking advice from season five contestant and former Bond Girl, Jane Seymour.

Seymour said: “I’ve been trying to give her sort of a reality check about what it’s like and what it’s about, and basically I told her it was the most fun I’ve ever had.”
