Bookmakers have tipped Eastenders actress Barbara Windsor as their 1/3 favourite star to join the judging panel of Britain’s Got Talent.

The news comes after The Mirror claimed that Simon Cowell would return to the series next year and was hoping to bring the former Carry On star with him.

Dannii Minogue is another name being linked with the gig and she is offered at 2/5 while comedian David Walliams is 11/10.

“With the departure of both Michael McIntyre and the Hoff, the panel will once more be subject to a change and it would seem that Barbara Windsor and Dannii Minogue are in pole position to grab the vacant slots,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

David Walliams and Dannii Minogue have reportedly signed up as judges for the next series of Britain’s Got Talent.

It has been claimed that former X Factor judge Dannii will join Amanda Holden on the judging panel of the ITV show, when panel auditions start in the New Year. The Australian star has been in London for a few weeks and has reportedly used the time to meet with show bosses and work on scheduling times and dates where she will be available for filming.

If the news is true, it will mark a big British TV comeback for the mum of one who stepped down – possibly before she was pushed – from The X Factor earlier this year.

Joining her and pregnant star Amanda, will allegedly be Little Britain star David Walliams.

It is reported that he will replace David Hasselhoff – who was dropped from the lineup earlier this year – and it is hoped the star will win viewers over with his light hearted humour and cutting wit when the show returns next spring.

An ITV source told The Mirror:

“Everybody is really excited about the new line-up. David was confirmed this week and the producers think it’s the best yet.

“He’s a real favourite with the nation and Dannii is hugely popular. It’s ­exciting for her to be coming back.”

However insiders say that before Dannii fully commits to the show, she is insisting that bosses are very clear about dates and pin down exactly when and where the auditions will be taking place, to avoid a repeat of last year’s X Factor negotiations.

Minogue has claimed that she had agreed a deal for the series but was forced to pull out after producers re-jigged the schedule so it worked for new judge Gary Barlow. But the new dates clashed with Dannii’s Australia’s Got Talent gig.

A source added:

“She needs confirmed shooting schedules and dates for the entire series before she packs her bags and lets other opportunities go. It starts shooting in just a few weeks and she does have other offers to think about and consider.

“Dannii was really disappointed not to be able to return to the UK for this year’s X Factor, so she wants to make this work.”

Dannii recently hinted that she was in talks with BGT bosses, during an interview with Channel 4′s Alan Carr, though she insisted she had no solid plans for UK TV appearances at the minute.

Meanwhile, Amanda Holden confessed that she’d love some girly help on the panel and that Dannii would really fit the bill.

The newspaper also reports that Diversity star Ashley Banjo – who has also judged on Sky 1′s Got To Dance – is in talks currently about acting as a stand in judge, covering for Amanda when she is on maternity leave.

Dannii Minogue has admitted that she has been involved in some discussions about her judging on next year’s Britain’s Got Talent series.

The former X Factor judge was asked on tonight’s Alan Carr’s Chatty Man if she was planning to appear on the ITV show next year and replied:

No plans at the moment for any TV here, no. Just back to Australia and a bit of sunshine and Christmas.

However, when Alan asked if she had been approached about joining the lineup, the mum of one got a little cagey and laughed:

“Hmmmm. There have been a few discussions about opportunities here…. ”

After a long pause, she giggled:

“Awkward!”

Dannii also spoke again of why she is no longer on the X Factor judging panel and when asked if ‘were you pushed or did you jump,’ she replied:

It’s kind of a tricky one because by the time they came back to me with the dates, I’d already locked in Australia’s Got Talent and it would have meant me flying between Australia and London weekly to film. Taking everything into account and being a new mum, there was just no way that it would work for me. I’m sure if I’d wanted to get on a plane, they would have had me there but I couldn’t do it.

Susan Boyle has admitted that she’d love to see Dannii Minogue returning to The X Factor.

The new mum left the ITV series earlier this year, due to a filming conflict between it and Australia’s Got Talent but SuBo thinks the panel worked better with the Australian star on it.

In an interview with Digital Spy, the ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ hitmaker was asked about the falling ratings and if the show can survive without Simon Cowell – who left to front his new American version – and said:

“It’s different this year but it always was going to be. I wish they’d bring back Dannii Minogue. I thought she was a great judge.”

However, she does think there is real talent on the 2011 series and revealed that along with most of the British bookmakers, she is backing newly returned singer Amelia Lily to win next month.

She added: “I’m supporting Amelia [Lily] this year. I think she’s great and I’m glad she is back in the show.”

Susan has recently released her third studio record ‘Someone To Watch Over Me’ and is holding the number one spot in album charts both in the UK and America. This week she became the first woman to have three successive albums debut at No.1 in the UK in the space of just two years.

This year’s X Factor winner will only be able to dream about success like that!

Amanda Holden has admitted that she would love some company on next year’s series of Britain’s Got Talent.

The mum to be is currently the only judge confirmed for next year’s series of the ITV show, with Michael McIntyre having recently announced his decision to leave the judging panel and David Hasselhoff reportedly being sacked.

Auditions for the show started recently and Holden will start seeing the first hopefuls having passed the producers stages in January. On who she would like to be presiding over proceedings at her side, she told The Sun:

“I would love Dannii to come on it.

“I could nick all her dresses. We can hook up Lexi and Ethan.

“I’d also love Cheryl Cole to join. I would love another girl on the show.

“I can’t bear when shows like this make out that girls are feuding behind the stage — I’m a girl’s girl and wouldn’t stand for it.”

Dannii Minogue is this week’s Fabulous Magazine cover star and in her interview with the magazine, reveals the real reasons behind her departure from X Factor, her health scare and how life, for her, begins at 40.

Dannii insists that, despite the rumours, she wasn’t forced out of The X Factor. After being rushed to hospital in April last year with appendicitis Dannii found out that her thyroid wasn’t working properly. ‘The truth is’ she says ‘I have been very sick’… ‘I was travelling back and forth from Australia to the UK doing The X Factor, I was jet lagged, on the go non-stop’. ‘I was losing weight, permanently exhausted, I didn’t feel like myself.’

Contrary to numerous press reports, she claims up her role as a judge on X Factor was entirely her own decision and added:

‘I looked at the schedule. In the 10 weeks of filming it would have meant me doing around 10 trips back and forth from Australia. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to do it. I physically couldn’t.’

Upbeat as ever, Dannii reflects saying ‘I have to see what happened as a positive. My body forced me to rebalance my life. I needed to look after myself, my son and be at home with Kris. We needed to get through it together which is what we’ve done’

Dannii Minogue has teased that she may yet join the judging panel of Britain’s Got Talent.

The ITV show has lost two judges in the past month, after Michael McIntyre quit so he could focus on his stand up tour and David Hasselhoff was allegedly sacked by bosses, who thought he was too boring on the show.

Insiders had previously claimed that Simon Cowell had asked former X Factor judge Dannii Minogue to join Amanda Holden on the lineup and she didn’t outright deny the rumours during an interview with Heart FM this week.

The Australia’s Got Talent judge said:

“I don’t have any TV booked in for the next year. I haven’t made any decisions. Let’s see what happens.”

Speaking specifically about Britain’s Got Talent she added:

“I do love the show — it’s so funny.”

And despite their so called feud and reported rows, Minogue claims that she and Cheryl Cole are very much still in touch, after both were dropped by the X Factor bosses this year.

She said: “She was always there for me when I had tough days, because it is a tough show. It eats us up and spits us out.”

Dannii Minogue has confessed that she thinks she did John Wilding a favour, by rejecting him from The X Factor last year.

The Australian star took the 18 year old hopeful as far as her judges houses stage on the ITV series last year, but rejected him just before the live shows started.

Wilding returned in 2011, and made judges houses once more – this time with Gary Barlow as a mentor – however Minogue thinks the extra year of working on his music has done John good.

When asked if she’s been watching the current series, Dannii said:

‘I’ve been here a couple of weeks and I’ve seen one tiny bit and the hysterical thing was, I was flicking through the TV during the daytime so it was a repeat and I saw the bit where John came back and he was in my judges home and I turned him away – and then they showed him sing the most incredible song and I was like “OK”.

‘He’s worked really hard and its often the people that say no to you in this industry that make you as good as you are and I hope it gave him something to help get to where he is now.’

The Australia’s Got Talent judge went on to confess that she does miss working on The X Factor but on the flip side, is enjoying the freedom and extra time with her baby. She added:

‘ It’s hard because I was so passionate about the contestants and I loved the mentoring bit but you know, just balancing everything with family and home – I am enjoying being at home with bubba.’

Dannii Minogue has moved from mentor to interviewer in her new role for My Daily and this week, the former X Factor judge caught up with the winner of last year’s series Matt Cardle.

In the video below, the Australian star chats with Matt – who she mentored on the 2010 series of the ITV show – about his new album ‘Letters’, his lead single ‘Run For Your Life,’ and his upcoming live X Factor performance.

Matt told Dannii that he loves how much input he was allowed to have into his record and on what subject matter you can expect to hear covered by his self penned tracks, he explained:

“It’s always love and girls and situations I’ve gotten myself into and out of.”

“It’s where I can be be most honest in my life. You can say stuff in a song…. it is quite embarrassing to say how you honestly really feel to someone, but when you’re writing it down in a song it makes it so much easier.”

John Wilding has admitted that he struggled to cope, after being sent home from The X Factor last year.

The 18 year old student told The Sun that he suffered from depression and ruined his A Level grades, after Dannii Minogue took him as far as the 2010 judges houses stage in Melbourne, then cut him from the lineup, as she chose her final four contestants for the live shows.

The talented singer confessed:

“Some days I just wouldn’t get out of bed. It’s nobody’s fault, but it took me a while to get back into things. I did think twice about auditioning again. But I lost 1½st, changed my fashion sense and had my teeth done. You’ve got to sell yourself.”

However, he wasn’t put off and John Wilding made his return to the X Factor stage in the summer and his audition was featured on Saturday night’s show. In it, he was seen stunning the judges with a powerful rendition of Love You I Do by Jennifer Hudson.

Afterwards Take That star Gary Barlow raved:

Oh my God! I have got to tell you that was absolutely sensational. Thank God you came back.
