It’s no secret that The X Factor is – while the shows air at least – a rival of Strictly Come Dancing so it may come as something of a surprise then to learn that X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary is to dance with Strictly judge Darcey Bussell at the forthcoming National Television Awards.
However, the rivalry has of course mostly been light-hearted, but nonetheless, The Sun writes, “Dermot O’Leary is risking the wrath of Simon Cowell after agreeing to dance with Darcey Bussell from X Factor’s TV rival.”
Dermot, who is hosting this year’s NTAs, will chuck on a tuxedo and dance a quickstep with Darcey on the show, and the paper adds that he’s even going to attempt to lift the ballet dancer during their routine… Read more & comment »

With this year’s Strictly Come Dancing final only hours away, three of the shows judges explained their decisions when picking the finalists dances for tonight’s show.
All four finalists, Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh, actress Dani Harmer and presenter, Denise Van Outen, all have to perform three dances in tonight’s grand finale.

Darcey Bussell has admitted that there has been a lot she hasn’t been able to say and do on Strictly Come Dancing this year.
The prima ballerina replaced Alesha Dixon on the panel of the BBC show when Alesha Dixon defected to ITV ad Britain’s Got Talent earlier in the year. So far she’s proved very popular with her fellow judges, contestants and viewers of the show but the 43 year old has confessed that there is so much more she wanted to bring to the role.

This weekend is of course the semi-finals of Strictly Come Dancing, and with the end now very much in sight, judge Bruno Tonioli has given his verdicts on the finalists as well as on fellow judge – and newbie this year – Darcey Bussell.
He also had a few kind words to say about veteran host and entertainer, Sir Bruce Forsyth, who it was feared may have had to miss last night’s show due to having ‘flu, but he of course rallied and did in fact appear.
Of Bruce, and the prospect that this could be the 82 year old star’s last year on SCD, Bruno said, “Bruce is very professional. He won’t let his audience down and will know when he can’t deliver any more.

With this year’s Strictly Come Dancing final getting closer and closer each week, new judge on the block, Darcey Bussell, has promised to toughen up on the contestants a bit more, starting this weekend, so Telly Mix reports.
Professional Ballet dancer, Darcey, joined the panel of Strictly judges at the beginning of this series, after the exit of former Strictly champ, Alesha Dixon. Since taking her seat, Darcey has proved to be very fair with the contestants, and whilst her scores are normally closer to Craig Revel Horwood’s than Len Goodman’s, she always accompanies them with really constructive advice and hints.

Olympic champion Victoria Pendleton took her cycling to a new level last week in Strictly Come Dancing, as she rode a BMX down from the sky before taking to the Wembley dance floor with Professional partner, Brendan Cole, to perform a Passo Doble like no other to a seventies themed routine.
Their scores came in as 5,6,7,6 and whilst Bruno Tonioli said he felt the couple were overwhelmed by the space and Darcey Bussell’s commented that they seemed to lose focus, here is what the couple in question thought of last week’s performance.

Darcey Bussell joined the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel for the first time two months ago and it seems as though she is here to stay.
The former ballerina replaced Alesha Dixon, who defected to Britain’s Got Talent earlier in the year but the former Mystique singer and Strictly winner is not being missed according to recent reports, because insiders say bosses are loving how well Darcey has fitted in on the panel.

Craig Revel Horwood has admitted that he thinks Darcey Bussell makes a better Strictly Come Dancing judge than Alesha Dixon ever did.
The caustic tongued choreographer worked with the Miss-Teeq star for three years on the BBC show but revealed that he wasn’t sad when she defected to ITV earlier this year, so she could judge on Britain’s Got Talent.
Although Craig ‘loved’ working with the brunette beauty he confessed that he thinks she’s better suited to Simon Cowell’s series and explained:

Darcey Bussell has revealed that she was totally shocked when people told her how many times she says ‘yah’ on Strictly Come Dancing.
The prima ballerina was added to the judging panel of the BBC show after the departure of Alesha Dixon but during the first live show of the series Twitter was buzzing with people who were irritated by the way she ended every sentence with a ‘yah.’

Darcey Bussell has admitted that she is thoroughly enjoying her Strictly Come Dancing experience.
The prima ballerina was added to the judging lineup of the BBC show, after the departure of Alesha Dixon earlier this year and takes her seat beside Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood each weekend.
The male panelists have been full of praise for their experienced new colleague, who gives very specific and constructive advice to the couples on each live show….even if she does say ‘ya’ a LOT.
