When groundbreaking series Dating in the Dark premiered on LIVING last summer it wasn’t just viewers who couldn’t stop talking about the audacious televised experiment in the nature of attraction. The media couldn’t get enough of the radical twist on the traditional dating show, and the prestigious Royal Television Society crowned the series Best Multi-Channel Programme 2009. Now the innovative show is back for another season of must-watch TV this week.
Dating In The Dark, the award-winning dating show with a difference is back for another season of must-watch TV; this time sprinkled with a peppering of celebrity daters looking for love – Pineapple Dance Studio’s Andrew Stone, Ben Clarke from The Apprentice and Georgina Baillie, granddaughter of Andrew Sachs.
The ground-breaking show puts matchmaking to the ultimate test by offering six singletons per episode the chance to get to know each other in a whole new way – in complete darkness.

The goth who was at the centre of the scandal that damaged Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand’s career last year, will be looking for love on the Living show later this year.
Three single girls and three single guys live in separate apartments within the dating house. During their stay they embark on a series of dates in the dark to see if true love really is blind. First on the agenda is a group date, after which it becomes apparent that Barry is the hot favourite male dater and Sarah has most certainly stolen the hearts from all the men.
When the six lonely hearts meet for their first group date this week, personal trainer and sports massage therapist Daniel finds himself the focus of the keen attentions of all three single ladies. Freelance editor Alan isn’t giving up hope of wooing his lady of choice, however, and even breaks out his best rendition of of ‘Rock Me Amadeus’ to try and win her affections.
Living is soon to launch a new dating show, with a whole new premise. Dating in the Dark is like Blind Date for the noughties!
In each episode, three men and three women, all single and looking for love, will live in separate apartments within a specially designed house, only meeting each other in a dating room kept in pitch darkness: the Dark Room. With viewers following the action via state of the art infra-red cameras, the lovebirds will need to use all their senses to help them decide which of the daters is their perfect match .At the end of the show they get to pick who they would like to see and after the lights are turned on, they then have to decide if they want to see that person again.
Dating in the Dark is a show that answers that all important question – is true love really blind? We’ll be putting singletons to the test as we give them a unique way of meeting that special someone – in total darkness. Forget internet dating, this is guaranteed to be the latest trend in meeting a new partner.
