American Idol: David Cook compares new track ‘Take Me As I Am’ to Aerosmith’s ‘Dont’ Wanna Miss A Thing’

David Cook has claimed that his new song, has an Aerosmith vibe to it.

The 28 year old singer – who rose to fame after winning the seventh season of the reality television show American Idol – has said that “Take Me As I Am” from his new album ‘This Loud Morning’s', reminds him of Aerosmith’s ‘Dont’ Wanna Miss A Thing’.

Speaking in a video posted on his official website, Cook said:

American Idol 2011: Carrie Underwood, David Cook, Jennifer Lopez, Scotty McCreey & Lauren Alaina show up to honour Simon Fuller on Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Simon Fuller received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame yesterday and lots of past and current American Idol stars showed up to help honour the show boss.

Judges Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson attended the glitzy event, as did show presenter Ryan Seacrest, past winners Carrie Underwood and David Cook, and this year’s season 10 finalists. Victoria Beckham, who worked with Simon during her Spice Girls days, and Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe were also in the crowd.

Paying tribute to the man who created the globally popular Idol format, Seacrest said:

American Idol: David Cook loves Steven Tyler and the new judging panel!

David Cook has admitted that he loves the new American Idol judges Steve Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.

The 28 year old singer – who won the seventh season of the reality TV show – was speaking to Entertainment Tonight when he admitted that he’d love to appear on this year’s series and meet the new stars.

American Idol: David Cook was ‘shocked by Ethiopia in a positive way’

Former American Idol winner David Cook has been talking about his recent trip to Ethiopia, for this weeks American Idol charity based show ‘Idol Gives Back.’ While in Ethiopia, Cook visited the United Nations’ Biruh Tesfa (Bright Future) Project to see firsthand how the UN Foundation is supporting the work of the UN to educate and empower girls.

In an interview with Digital Spy, the “Come Back to Me” singer revealed that he was shocked by what he saw in the African country, but not in the way he expected to be. He said:

David Cook wants to debut a single on American Idol 2010

Former American Idol winner David Cook has admitted that he hopes to debut a new single on this year’s season of the show.

The 27 year old singer finished first in season seven and has been working on material for his third album since January. Admitting that while he would love to launch a track from the album on Idol, he added that he won’t rush a song just for the promotional benefits. David told Entertainment Weekly:

Carrie Underwood: Simon Cowell Has Gotten Nicer!

American idol season 4 winner, Carrie Underwood feels that Simon Cowell is getting nicer as he gets older.

“I think Simon has actually got a wee bit nicer over the past couple of years,” she said, speaking at the launch of the American Idol Experience attraction at Disneyworld, Florida.

“He’s always been pretty nice to me and I think it’s really good that somebody will give you a dose of reality even if it might be said in a harsh manner. I can think of nicer ways to say things than he tells them, but it’s nice that he’s got a very strong opinion and he does voice it.”

Last year’s American Idol winner, David Cook was also full of praise for the man often called Mr Nasty.
