Sir Alan Sugar’s right hand man, Nick Hewer has been sharing his thoughts on the shows latest reject, Debra Barr.

Hewer agreed with Sugar’s decision to fire Debra despite her obvious business skills, saying that she would be hard to ‘contain.’

“Debra comforted Lorraine as she was telling everyone how nervous she was,” he told The Mirror. “Would Debra’s arm around you comfort or terrify you?”

“The beautiful, lofty Debra,” he added. “And so it was with lips glossed she headed for the exit. Hats off to whoever can contain her.”

Sir Alan Sugar is quite the business man and in my mind he would be crazy not to take Debra Barr up on her recent offer.

After being sacked from The Apprentice last night for being too rude and offensive, Debra has revealed that so strong is her desire to work for Sir Alan, she would be prepared to do for for a substantially lower sum than the £100,000 figure awarded to the winner of the show.

She told The Sun: “I was gutted not to be in the final.

“But when I was fired, it was in such a lovely manner and Sir Alan said some really nice things. I’ve learned a lot from the show and I don’t think it’s the end of my relationship with him.

“I’d work for Sir Alan for less than £100,000 a year.”

A show insider said: “She’s not been offered a job but Nick and Margaret sometimes stay in touch with candidates.”

Tonight’s Apprentice show had to be the best of the series so far. I love to watch the candidates squirm under the pressure of the four part interview and every year there is serious fall out from this phase of the process.

Although Sir Alan sacked three candidates before next week’s final, the big loser tonight was without doubt James McQuillan. James was almost mocked by each of Sir Alan’s advisors. They branded him as immature and it didn’t help that he littered his interview with Karen full of Willy Wonka references. Claude said his CV was full of jibberish, and the line of the night had to be James description of his last job as:

‘I put a leash on people who spunk money up the wall.’

The fact that he sold himself by saying that Sir Alan should hire him because:

I can bring ignorance to the table

just proves how much the village idiot he really is.

Lorraine’s big downfall tonight was the fact that she talked an abundance of crap to her interviewers, rambling on about her powers of mind reading. If the mother of two really could tell what people were thinking surely she would wash her hair or choose a less ridiculous colour of lipstick before venturing out of the house.

Debra impressed the interviewers with her composure and intelligent responses to their questions however the fact that her co-workers and former bosses described her as:

‘rude, foul mouthed and ignorant. ‘

and

‘very aggressive and rude, people either love her or hate her, most people hate her.’

raised serious concerns about her ability to function within a team environment. When Sir Alan fired her he admitted that it may have been a huge mistake but he didn’t feel that she was yet ready or mature enough for the challenges he would expect her to face.

So next weeks final will see Kate and Yasmina go head to head. Given that Yas lied about her turnover and profits and wasn’t too worried about the prospect of making her mother homeless should her restaurant go under, I can’t see her winning……can you?

Sir Alan Sugar’s sidekick Nick Hewer has said that Debra Barr could have sold one of her expensive rocking horses on Wednesday night’s show had she applied some creative thinking.

Debra was trying to sell £2000 rocking horses at the London Baby Fair but failed to make a sale after she refused to knock £200 off the price.

Hewer told The Mirror: “What would have been wrong in saying: ‘Pay the full price because we can’t drop it, and we’ll give you £200 back from the money we got from the birthing pools?’

“That would have shown some creative thinking. And they would have won.”

Regarding Barr, Sir Alan’s assistant said: “She lacks emotional intelligence and always looks like she wants a fight. But I kind of admire her. She’s just a young woman with too much testosterone.”

On this week’s Apprentice, Sir Alan Sugar sends his bunch of useless candidates to Margate where they must market the town as a tourist destination. No doubt the neighbouring seaside resort of Ramsgate were rubbing their hands with glee.

The clip over the jumshows Howard and and Debra casting for their same sex photoshoot, after their team decided that the Pink Pound was one to capitalise on.

Apprentice candidate Debra Barr is said to be reeling from the discovery that friend is threatening to sell a saucy video of her and another female.

The Sun reports that 24-year-old Barr was videoed on a friend’s mobile phone at a party.

However she is said to be fuming after the footage was put up for sale, not least because she currently has a steady boyfriend.

“Debra’s a fun-loving girl and this is just her larking about and enjoying herself after a few drinks,” a source told the paper.

“It’s sexy tomfoolery at a club, nothing more. Debra loves posing for the camera and once she has had a drink or too the steely businesswoman persona drops and she is up for having a lot of fun.

“Everyone knows she is in a very happy relationship with her fella but the video shows she is game for laugh — and that when she dresses to go out she is a real bombshell. It is the last thing Sir Alan would suspect.”

OMG!!! Sir Alan Sugar appeared on The One Show tonight saying that this years bunch of Apprentice candidates are his best yet, but to me they look like a bunch of bumbling idiots.

Their first task consisted of Sir Alan providing them with a van and some cleaning materials (all of which they paid for out of their budget). They then had to clean some stuff and make as much money as they could in just one day.

The girls in particular astounded me by trying to charge £300 to clean three cars! When the customer pointed out that his current cleaner does the job for £60, Mona Lewis told him he was wrong and basically implied that he was a liar. They landed the contract in the end but after dropping their price dramatically they then had to summon their customer to help them work the pressure washer.

The boys, to their credit, landed a contract to clean 30 minicabs, but would only be paid for the ones which passed the customers inspection. There seemed to be way too many of them trying to clean at the same time, they took one and a half hours to clean their first car and even then they were forgetting to clean roofs, backs of seats and other pretty obvious spots.

In the end Ignite (the girls team) took £357, they spent £196.45 and so made a profit of £160.55. Empire (the boys team) took £347, spent £107.39 and so made a profit of just over £239. So the boys won, but really not through any great margin and not because of any great planning or talent. I can only hope that this bunch get better with practice!
