Denise Van Outen has admitted that Mark Wright would have been just her type when she was younger.

The actress and singer is an avid fan of The Only Way is Essex and being an Essex girl herself, provides the voice-over for the ITV2 reality TV series. When asked about some of it’s characters, the blonde beauty admitted that Mark Wright stands out for her but added that any woman associated with him, would have to be ‘very careful.’

She said: “I do think Mark Wright is a very good looking chap. But you’d have to be very careful.

“He’s the sort of person I would have fallen for back in the day and then been left crying into my pillow while all my friends said, ‘I told you so!’ He’s an, ‘I told you so,’ kind of boy.”

Denise also defended the show against it’s many critics and hit back at those haters, saying they don’t understand ‘The Only Way is Essex’.

She added to heat magazine: “People who think ‘TOWIE’ is giving Essex a bad name don’t see the fun in it. They’re taking themselves too seriously and they need to lighten up.”

However, Mark isn’t the only ‘TOWIE’ star who Denise has admitted to having a crush on, as she recently confessed she and her pals secretly fancy hunky older businessman Mick Norcross.

She said: “Me and my mates all love Mick Norcross, Kirk’s dad on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’. We laugh about how that makes us old, because we’re not interested in the young ones.”

The paper adds, “The 37-year-old will be joined by Dancing On Ice’s Mr Nasty Jason Gardiner and a guest judge who will change each week.”

Born to Shine will see talented youngsters teaching celebrities various skills ranging from tap dancing to beat-boxing.

The star line-up, which includes Jason Manford, Joe Swash, Ruth Langsford and Nick Moran, will then perform the new skill in front of the judges.

Former newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky will host the series, which starts on Sunday July 17.

Denise Van Outen has admitted that despite having a dishy husband of her own, she can’t help but ogle ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Mick Norcross.

The 37 year old TV personality is married and shares a child with ‘Any Dream Will Do’ winner Lee Mead has joked that she ‘loves’ the rugged businessman and knows that her crush on one of the oldest stars of the reality TV show, says a lot about her own age.

She said: “Me and my mates all love Mick Norcross, Kirk’s dad on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’. We laugh about how that makes us old, because we’re not interested in the young ones.

“I’d marry Joey though, because he would make me laugh. He might not be the brightest spark, but he looks nice.”

Denise also confessed that while she loves all things TOWIE, she just can’t generate the same enthusiasm for fellow ITV show Made In Chelsea.

She added to Reveal magazine: “I tried ‘Made In Chelsea’ once and couldn’t get into it. To me, it seemed quite serious and like they are all acting too much, so I didn’t enjoy it.

“Whereas the tears on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ are genuine.”

An all-star celebrity line-up of judges including Alesha Dixon, Denise Van Outen and Melanie C has been unveiled for the BBC’s up-coming new show Comic Relief Does Glee Club.

Each judge will appear on at least one episode of the charity talent show kicking off on Monday 14 March on BBC One. Not only that, but chart-topping boy band The Wanted are also set to perform at the show’s finale on Friday 18 March.

Hosted by CBBC favourites Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes, the spectacular, all-singing, all-dancing new series aims to find the UK’s best young Glee Club. The hotly anticipated first episode on 14 March will see 18 Glee clubs from around the UK battle it out for a place in the final nine groups.

Viewers will see how the 18 lucky groups were put through their paces by top professional vocal coaches Carrie and David Grant and choreographer Sisco Gomez, and for the first time, the names of the nine finalists who have made it through to the live heats will be revealed.

From Tuesday 15 March to Thursday 17 March, the remaining nine groups will go head to head and showcase their singing and dancing abilities performing a variety of songs from chart hits to musical favourites.

Carrie, David and Sisco, as well as other celebrity judge commentators including award-winning singer-song writer and former Spice Girl Melanie C and actress and West End star Denise Van Outen, will give the young hopefuls their expert advice from trying to avoid the “wrong song choices” to “completely nailing it”.

The jam-packed televisual event will climax in a fantastic live final on Red Nose Day, Friday 18 March, when singer and TV personality, Alesha Dixon, will join the celebrity commentary panel and The Wanted will perform the official Comic Relief single “Gold Forever”. The competition will conclude in a nail-biting finish as viewers choose which Glee Club will be crowned Comic Relief Glee Club Winners 2011.

As well as the high drama of the competition, all the shows will be packed with entertainment. Details of the full celebrity panel and performances for the week will be announced in due course.

Comic Relief Does Glee Club will also be supporting Red Nose Day fundraising by encouraging children to host and film their own “Glee for a Fee” shows at home.

Denise Van Outen has given birth to a baby daughter sources report.

Betsy Mead was born at 12.24pm and weighed 7lb 10oz, a representatives of the couple claimed.

Both mother and daughter are said to be doing well, with Van Outen saying she felt “ecstatic” about her new bouncing baby.

Denise and Lee first met while she judged him on BBC reality TV show, ‘Any Dream Will Do’. They were married in a secret ceremony last year in the Seychelles.

Denise said: “We are proud parents and very ecstatic.”

Lord Andrew Lloyd has admitted that Denise Van Outen was dropped from the Over The Rainbow judging panel, because she was pregnant.

Denise had previously insisted that the decision to drop her was made purely because she was expecting her first child. When the news broke that she was being replaced by Charlotte Church she said:

“It was mentioned to me that being pregnant was an issue. It is not an issue for me. I am not ill. I am having a baby.” However the BBC have always adamantly denied her claims.

In an interview with The Sunday Mirror head judge Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber said:

“The truth is that she is having a baby. I’m a great friend of Denise, I wish her the absolute best, but we have to think of our girls in the show.

“It wouldn’t be fair on the girls if we had to draft in somebody for three shows who hadn’t been working with them.”

He added to the female journalist:

“I’m sure as a woman you understand that.”

The Beeb bosses won’t be too pleased with Andrew’s transgression. It not like they need another scandal!

Over The Rainbow judge Andrew Lloyd Webber has denied rumours of a rift between himself and former ‘I’d Do Anything judge Denise Van Outen.

Denise had judged on Andrew’s BBC reality TV shows since their inception but was not asked to appear on this year’s ‘Over The Rainbow.’ Insisting that the decision was made because she was pregnant, Denise said she felt “let down and disappointed” to be replaced by songbird Charlotte Church.

However Lord Lloyd Webber has denied that there is any bad feelings between him and Denise and told The Mirror:

“Of course I still have a friendship with Denise.”

But he added: “We’ve got a real depth with the panel this time. Charlotte will bring the spirit.. She has been through it all.”

BBC have confirmed the new judging panel for their latest Andrew Lloyd Webber show ‘Over The Rainbow’ and Denise Van Outen isn’t on it.

Joining Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber on the panel will be former opera singer Charlotte Church, acclaimed actress Sheila Hancock and Eastenders star John Partridge.

Denise has made a statement today claiming to feel ‘let down’ by the BBC and admits that bosses had told her that her pregnancy was a problem for the show.

Van Outen, who is six months pregnant with her first baby told The Daily Mail:

‘I am not ill, I am just having a baby. I feel disappointed and let down. Being pregnant is not an issue for me, I feel fit and healthy.

‘I am absolutely happy to carry on working. I am here today at the Bumps And Babies Mile today which shows I feel fine.’

She confirmed: ‘It was mentioned to me that being pregnant was an issue.’

‘It should be up to the woman to decide if they feel well enough to carry on working.

‘I feel in really good health and I am sure lots of other pregnant women feel the same as me.

‘If I was having a tough pregnancy I could maybe understand the decision, but I feel perfectly fine.’

A source close to Denise told the newspaper:

‘Denise did not take it for granted that she was returning, but really hoped she would get the job.

‘However, when she asked, Denise had a bit of a shock when a senior member of production told her “You’re pregnant, so of course there’s no way you can do the show”. This was then repeated to her by another producer.’

A BBC spokesman said: ‘Over The Rainbow is a brand new show for BBC One with a completely new line-up of judges.

‘None of the other five previous judges will be taking part.

Any Dream Will Do winner Lee Mead, has revealed that he is extremely excited about his and wife Denise Van Outen’s impending arrival.

He told the Sunday Mirror: “Me, a daddy! This is just the greatest thing that has ever, ever happened to me.

“I always wanted to have my own family, find a woman, settle down and plan a future together. Now it’s really come true and both of us are just so happy.”

Lee also revealed that he plans to be a very hands on Dad.

He stated: “I’ll be a very hands-on dad. I’ll be there changing nappies and getting involved.

“As soon as we can, we’ll find out whether the baby’s a boy or a girl, so I can talk to my son or daughter before they’re born. And it means we can decorate the room, of course.

“I’ve been reading books and gone online reading up about pregnancy. The baby is the biggest thing I’ve ever prepared for, bigger than any role I’ve played or any job I’ve done.”
