Take That singer Mark Owen has been revealed as the writer of the final song in the West End show The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice. The song is sung by former X Factor contestant, Diana Vickers.

Playwright Jim Cartwright: “It had always been my intention to write an original song for the end of my play, when Little Voice finally sings in her own voice,” he said.

“However, when we first premiered it at the National Theatre in 1992 we ran out of time and a Judy Garland song was used.

“When I first heard ‘Sunlight’ with Diana Vickers singing it, tears came to my eyes. I was just thrilled. It was exactly what I wanted.

“Thank you to Mark, Jamie and Ben for helping me to realise my dream for the ending of the play. It has taken 17 years but with a song as perfect as this, it was worth the wait.”

Owen added: “Jim Cartwright is one of the country’s leading playwrights and to be asked to be involved in the writing of the final song for Little Voice was a real honour.

“I’m a huge fan and am thrilled that he feels the song fits the moment and does his play justice. I’m really looking forward to watching it.”

Former X Factor star, Diana Vickers has admitted that she and Eoghan Quigg did have a bit of a fling last year.

At the time, despite being photographed kissing, Diana denied that she had cheated on her boyfriend with Eoghan.

However Vickers has recently told London Lite: “There was something between us, I’m not going to deny that. What’s the point?

“He lives in Ireland and I’m over here. He’s got a little tattoo on his arm, it’s Quiggy in Arabic.”

On Quigg’s debut album (which flopped), she added: “I’ve actually got that on my iPod. I think it did really well in Ireland. Maybe it wasn’t his time?”

Former X Factor contestant Diana Vickers, has admitted that she is glad she didn’t win the show. The blonde singer says that, had she been signed by Simon Cowell, she would have been a manufactured artist and had no control over her career.

She told The Lancashire Telegraph: “I’m really glad I didn’t win. It’s great to not have been manufactured into something I’m not, or forced into getting an album out quickly to get back on TV.”

And the singer also admitted watching this year’s show is “surreal”.

She told a newspaper: “I thought I wouldn’t have been able to even switch it on without feeling sick but, surprisingly I can sit down and watch it and have a laugh watching it. I know what’s going through the contestants’ minds and it’s such a rare experience to be on The X Factor.”

Former X Factor singer Diana Vickers has landed her first West End Role.

Diana will take the lead in West End show The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice.

The British Theatre Guide explains:

“The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice tells the story of a young girl, nicknamed Little Voice, who lives with her mother and hardly ever speaks, but has an amazing talent to imitate the singing voice of many of the great divas on her treasured records, left to her by her late father. However this is something she does privately for herself, and when one of her mother’s boyfriends sees the chance to make some money from her talent and forces her to sing in public, she is badly traumatised by the experience. Her only friend is a young lad, also very quiet, who came to fit the telephone at the start of the play and who also has a hidden secret – he is building a light show in the shed on his grandfather’s allotment.”

X Factor star Diana Vickers is collaborating on new songs with singer/songwriter Cass Lowe.

The teenage singer revealed on her Twitter page that they have been working on new material this week.

Vickers said: “Studio all day! Sex Pistols in the next room and wrote a mint song! Boyzone last night rocked my world!”

Lowe responded: “Hey miss – had a lot of fun today! Pleased with it as well… can’t wait2finish it – lemme know when you want to!”

Vickers replied: “Heyyy dudiii yeee it was awesome. It shall be a hit! Me or James will be in touch sometimes this week I think?! Hope ur well .”

Lowe has just completed a long line of tour dates supporting Newton Faulkner, Amy McDonald, Kate Walsh and One Night Only, he recently signed to Mercury records.

Their supposed romance was the talking point of this years X Factor but Eoghan Quigg has revealed that he and Diana Vickers never really dated.

In fact he says that the pair only ever shared one snog but that there were no feelings there.

Eoghan told Star magazine: “We had a snog but I didn’t feel anything so there’s nothing going on.”

He continued: “I think people really wanted us to be together but we weren’t.

“I don’t know how she felt. There was nothing for me there and there was never going to be anything.

“I swear I don’t fancy her. I did kiss her but I don’t fancy her.”

Just weeks ago, X Factor’s Diana Vickers was playing two boys off one another and now she’s ended up with no one on her arm.

Diana flitted between Eoghan Quigg and her boyfriend Chris Jones before finally deciding to be with Chris.

However a week after Eoghan showed off his new girlfriend Diana’s ‘boyfriend’ Chris has revealed that he and the singer have split.

He told Heat magazine: “It’s all over between me and Diana. We’re just best friends now, but we still really like each other. I don’t think we will be getting back together again.”

He added: “As far as I know, she isn’t seeing Eoghan, or anyone else. We’re both single now.”

X Factor singer, Diana Vickers has landed a record deal with RCA, but only after being turned down by Simon Cowell’s label Syco.

Simon previously rejected Gary Barlow’s offer to sign Diana, but in the end decided to let her go to another label whilst he concentrates on the career of Alexandra Burke.

Fellow X Factor singer, Eoghan Quigg has also been signed to the same label.

It seems that any hopes Eoghan Quigg may have had of a relationship with Diana Vickers have finally been quashed with the news that she and boyfriend Chris Jones are very much together.

Chris was said to be “furious” when pictures emerged of Diana and Eoghan kissing passionately and he split with Diana however, a source close to the couple have told the Daily Mail:

“Despite Diana’s hectic schedule, she made sure she spent time with Chris over Christmas.

“It’s early days yet but it looks as though she may be giving Chris another try.

“She still has strong feelings for him and many feel she got carried away with her emotions for Eoghan.”

Friends of the couple added that the pair are planning a holiday to Lanzarote but Eoghan will still be spending time with Diana when the X Factor contestants go on tour in February, so it remains to be seen if Chris and Diana’s relationship will survive that.

Former X factor contestant Ruth Lorenzo has jumped in on the are they, aren’t they scenario between Diana Vickers and Eoghan Quigg and said that she thinks they should definitely be dating.

Ruth told MSN:

“They are best friends, we always see them together, they’re always joking around or if one or the other misses their families.

“They’re the same age, same situation so they really get along. It would be so cute for them to be together,” she said.
