Abyss take to the Britain’s Got Talent stage on tonight’s show and try to impress the judges with their complicated street dancing routine, however Amanda Holden just can’t help comparing them to previous show winners Diversity, and unfortunately she doesn’t think they match up.

After their performance, the Shrek star says:

“Abyss, I thought you were good, I thought there were some good moves in there. I don’t think that you are as good as that standard that’s already been set on this show. I cannot help but have to compare you to Diversity, sorry.”

One of the boys disagrees with Amanda and insists: “Diversity was two years ago, you’ve got to look for the younger generation. You cannot compare us to them.”

To which a thoughtful Amanda replied:

“I agree, but they are still massive representatives of what we are looking for on this show.”

The troupe find a supported in Louis Walsh though, who was filling in for David Hasselhoff at the London auditions and he defended the performers saying:

“Amanda, I thought they were amazing. I thought they were slick, well rehearsed and I loved it.”

Michael McIntyre added:

“I am completely new to this and I was blown away. I thought it was likeable, talented, but I understand as well what Amanda is saying.”

Louis votes yes, Amanda votes no, so it’s down to Michael – who will he agree with? Tune in tonight to find out!

Alex Reid and Katie Price are said to have booked former Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity for their second wedding next month.

The pair first got married in secret in February and are now planning a nuptial blessing next month. They are said to have booked the BGT dance troupe to perform at their star studded after party, but as well as a normal routine, the group are reportedly planning to incorporate the groom into their second performance.

A source told The Mirror: “Katie loves ­Diversity, so Alex is chuffed to be working with them. They’ve ­arranged to lead the first dance, then Alex will dance with them.

“But it’s raised a few eyebrows among his mates.

“Nobody’s denying Diversity are brilliant at what they do. But urban street dance isn’t the most romantic choice for a wedding!

“And surely bride and groom should dance with each other at their wedding? Prancing about with Diversity looks more like Alex taking the opportunity to show off.”

Diversity have confirmed that they will be returning to the show this week, to perform on Monday’s live semi-final.

The dance troupe won last year’s series of the show and group member Ike Ezekwugo took to Twitter to declare:

“so its like this, we performing on
BGT semi final on monday we at the studio nw wrking on a new set.

“rehearsal rehearsals rehearsals..thats the way forward now..have to
smash it on bgt chyyeeeaah (sic).”

The Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals kick off on Monday on ITV at 7.30pm.

Britain’s Got Talent hopefuls Twist and Pulse have admitted that they have been given advice by last year’s show winners Diversity and finalists Flawless.

Best friends Ashley and Glen impressed the BGT judges on last night’s show with their funny dance routine, which they nicknamed ‘Streetomedy’ – a mixture of street dancing and comedy. Piers Morgan thought it was ‘one of the most exciting, original routines we’ve seen.’ While Amanda Holden gushed ‘I think you just showed us a glimpse of the future.’ (VIDEO HERE)

The pair told the Daily Star that they used to perform on the same dance circuit as former dance entrants Diversity and Flawless and said:

We are good friends with Diversity and with Flawless, who got to the final too. We know them from the London dance scene and it helps to know people who have already done what you’re doing.

“We spoke to them after our audition and it’s good to know they are there to help if we get to the semi-finals.”

One of the prizes awarded to the eventual winners of the ITV talent show is a spot on the Royal Variety Show and Twist & Pulse are sure that the Queen will love their act.

Glen said: “There’s ­something in our act for every generation. The Queen should love it!”

He added: “What we do is completely different. I honestly don’t think people will have seen anything like us before and we really like to get the crowd involved.”

Ashley went on: “We stand a good chance. The audience seemed to really like us.

“Simon looked really grumpy when we walked on stage, as if he was having a bad day. But we even managed to win him over.”

Dance troupe Myztikal make their TV debut on tomorrow night’s Britain’s Got Talent show.

“We’re a dance troup aged from 10yrs old -30yrs old and we’re all from London” they tell show presenters Ant and Dec.

Ant & Dec ask them if they can live up to Diversity, the group are nervous but promise to give it their best shot.

They walk out on stage and introduce themselves to the judges, Simon winds them up and asks who is dating within group, and they say nobody as they’re all friends.

They start an original dance routine which captures the audience’s attention, then one of the female members starts singing You Know I’m No Good by Amy Winehouse (as the other members continue to perform a dance routine around her)

Dancing with a twist……but is it good enough? Find out on tomorrow night’s BGT!

Britain’s Got Talent dance troupe AKA have revealed that they want to be the next Diversity. Male dancers Diversity won last year’s series of the show.

The girls, ranging from 10 to 20 years old, impressed the judges on Saturday night’s show with their crazily energetic dance routine (video here) and though Simon Cowell couldn’t understand a word they were saying and even called them ‘insane’, he did agree to put them through to the next round.

AKA dancer Jade hopes that her group can emulate the success of last year’s winners and told The Sun:

“We are really entertaining and we get the crowd involved just like Diversity. We really want to be the girl Diversity.”

She even admitted that she and her fellow dancers all have a soft spot for Simon Cowell, after her allowed them to progress. She said:

“We’ve all got a soft spot for Simon – even when he said he couldn’t understand me.

“We really wanted a ‘Yes’ from him to show how much we have improved.

“We were really gutted last year when we got two ‘Yes’ votes but didn’t get one from Simon.
Emotional

“When he said he liked us I was so emotional I cried. We were so pleased.”

But don’t worry, none of the girls fancy the music mogul….they have their eyes on someone else instead.

Jade revealed:

“Everyone fancies Ashley (from Diversity) instead of Simon!”

Hundreds of shoppers at Westfield London got an early Christmas present this morning when dance phenomena Diversity, supported by 120 dancers performed an impromptu 90 second dance routine to a medley of tracks including music by Michael Jackson and The Black Eyed Peas in the shopping mall’s Atrium.

Sky1 filmed the performance for a feature in the brand new entertainment series Got To Dance which will begin in early January 2010.

Diversity leader and Got To Dance judge, Ashley Banjo commented:

“We have done a lot of performances recently, but this was by far one of the most exciting because the crowd weren’t expecting it. I have warned the boys, that there are so many talented dancers in Got To Dance we had better watch our backs.”

Hosted by Davina McCall, Got ToDance is the search for the UK’s best dancers, regardless of style, combination or age.

Following four episodes of auditions, judges Ashley Banjo, Adam Garcia and Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt will then select eighteen acts to make it through to the three semi-finals. The best two dance acts chosen from each show will make it to the Grand Final, the winner will be selected by the viewing public and scoop a £100,000 prize.

A “warm-up” show will be broadcast on 20th December 2009 on Sky 1 HD, with the series beginning on 3rd January 2010.

Poor little Perri Luc Kiely. His dance group, Diversity, were invited to perform for Prime Minister Gordon Brown yesterday and in the midst of their performance he backflipped, then fell.

Mr Brown looked on in disbelief as the 13 year old collapsed in fits of tears, probably more embarrassed than hurt, and had to be comforted by his team mates.

A spokesman for the group said Perri was “absolutely fine, just a bit shocked”.

According to The Sun newspaper, the dance act would’ve received £10,000 per night and if they’d performed at each of his 50 shows, that would’ve netted them half a million pounds.

The group have often said that their dance moves – which won the nation’s votes on BGT – were inspired by Jackson and last night, a spokesmen for the group told the paper, “The boys signed their deal last week. They were over the moon.

“It was a once-in-a-lifetime gig.”

Diversity choreographer Ashley Banjo has admitted that the whole group is still in shock at winning this years Britain’s Got Talent.

The group leader told the BBC that life has been “mad” since they stole the crown from BGT.

Banjo said: “I’m probably not quite as shocked as I was when I first won, I think I couldn’t even talk when the judges came to me, but it still hasn’t settled in 100% for me.

“It’s unreal. It’s been the most surreal ten days of my life so far. Photoshoots, interviews, people wanting to talk to us, people coming up to us in the street. Four weeks ago, we would walk through the street and no-one would know who we are and now all of a sudden, the whole country knows who we are. It’s mad.”

Diversity young’un Perri Luc Kiely added: “I’ve been back to school and everyone’s been so happy for me, I’ve got a lot of support.

“It was weird because normally I just walked through the playground and was just meeting my friends, but now everyone’s coming up to me.”
