Dumped: Ten People Living On A Rubbish Dump

In the ultimate TV recycling challenge, ten members of the public will be living on one of Britain’s biggest rubbish dumps 24/7 for three weeks. Everything they eat, wear, shelter under or use will have to come from other people’s rubbish.

Dumped on Channel 4 aims to highlight the huge amount of food, clothing and other goods needlessly thrown away in the UK every day. Stripped across a week, the series follows the participants as they try to lead relatively normal lives using just what we throw away. It will be broadcast on Channel 4 in the Autumn.

From teenagers to 40-somethings, the participants will be living the ultimate recycling lifestyle. Many of them have never given a second thought to what they chuck out before, and the project will bring them face-to-face with the reality of Britain’s rubbish mountains.

Filmed on a real rubbish dump in Britain, the participants health and safety will be carefully monitored throughout the project, and they will be free to leave at any point if they want to. Read more & comment »
