Duncan James has revealed that he wants to give up his music career in order to spend more time with his daughter.
Duncan said: “I never wanted to do a solo album, which is why I was the last one in Blue to do it.
“But I had to honour my contract with EMI and I’d signed for another couple of albums.
“I haven’t been happy in the music industry since Blue ended and never liked it when we had to go around Europe promoting, even in the band.
“Now I’ve got a young daughter I want to spend time with her, not sitting in a room in Germany being asked the same questions by different people all day.”

Duncan James today admitted to The Mirror that he hopes the next 12 months would be a turning point, during whcih he will meet the woman of his dreams.
“I’d love to meet someone special and hitting 30 seems like a good age to do it,” Duncan told The Mirror. “It’ll probably be a turning point for me where I take some time out of the business and concentrate on settling down.
“I’m not going to jump into any old relationship. Any girl I date has to accept that I come with responsibilities. My mum, my daughter and the mother of my child will always come first.
“Am I a mummy’s boy? I guess I am. I’ve never had a dad in my life so it’s always been me and Mum. I love my mum to pieces and I want to make her proud.”

Duncan James is to cancel his future record releases and tour in a bid to focus on his TV career.
Duncan told Britain’s Sun newspaper: “I’ve decided not to release the single ‘Amazed’ because there’s so many other things going on at the moment.
“The schedule for ‘Dancing On Ice’ is so gruelling that I just don’t have any time to devote to music. There are some amazing offers coming in for TV presenting and theatre roles, so I want to focus on those.”
Duncan has also confessed he is desperate for the work because he is broke.
He said: “When I hit the big time with Blue I could spend, spend, spend. But now my bank account is nearly always empty!
“I bought a house for my mum and a house for the mother of my daughter, Tianie, who I pay child maintenance for.
“I’m hoping I stay in ‘Dancing On Ice’ for as long as possible – and that it then leads to some TV presenting jobs. Otherwise I won’t be able to keep up my mortgage repayments!”
Its hard to imagine a celebrity broke……I feel for him, it’s not nice to be skint!

Another reality TV shocker! I bet most of the UK were betting on Emily Symons leaving Dancing On Ice tonight. After a few trips on the ice both his week and last, I assumed that Emily would at least be in the skate off. And lets be honest if that had happened, what judge would have saved her?
However Emily made it through to next week without facing the skate off, she left that priveledge to Duncan James and Lisa Scott Lee.
Once again I wrongly assumed that Duncan James would be leaving, even though I think he is the superior skater. What I like about the men in this show is that they can skate independently. The girls lean a lot on their partner and I noticed this more than ever tonight when Emily and Lisa were skating.
Both Lisa and Duncan skated much better second time round, but 4 out of 5 judges saved Duncan and Lisa looked gutted to leave. From this week on it will get harder and harder to chose a winner. Well after Emily goes!

The competition is opened each week with world famous Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean giving us a sensational routine followed by manoeuvres expected that night from the competitors.
Tonight the required element was the ‘assisted jump’ with both feet raised from the ground
The performances have become very daring and exciting with each couple introducing more courageous manoeuvres each week and the gap between professional and celebrity becoming less noticeable.
Kyran Bracken and Melanie Lambert with the thousand ruby stoned dress, stole the show and took first place. They kept us on the edge of our seats and holding our breaths as they flawlessly went through their very dangerous routine earning 26 out of 30 points. Read more & comment »

Dancing on Ice contestant and former ‘Blue’ singer, Duncan James has admitted that the most painful thing about taking part in theis years series of Dancing On Ice is the underwear.
Duncan and the other boys have had to don a thong while performing on the ice, and Duncan is beginning to wonder how women wear them every day!
‘It is really demanding on the groin area,’ he says. ‘The jockstrap chafes like hell. It’s skin-coloured and ruts right up my bottom. I don’t know how woman cope with thongs.’
