Elton John is of course a music legend who’s been in the business for decades, so for newbies to the music biz, if there’s a go to guy, it’s most likely him.
And today, it’s been reported that Elton has some sage words of advice for the boys of One Direction, who are of course relatively new to the whole business that is show.
Speaking to the Sun, Elton said, “If I had to give them [One Direction] advice, I would say keep your original friends, keep good counsel with them.
“Try not to get too carried away with the clubs and all that crap — but it’s very difficult, because I did.”

With all the rumours of David Walliams performing with the Showbears on Saturday, we thought his performance with the camp group at Birmingham Pride was a certainty.
It turns out, though, that a tiny detail was forgotten: actually asking David.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge took to his Twitter yesterday morning to express his disappointment in the group he supported with a vigour throughout the series, tweeting:

Lady Gaga was a little uncomfortable when questioned about Kitty Brucknell on tonight’s episode of Alan Carr’s Chatty Man.
The ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker caused quite a stir on last week’s X Factor episode, when she ran onto the stage to comfort eliminated singer Kitty Brucknell as she wept about her fate.
The newspapers later claimed that as they downed their sorrows with some wine backstage, Gaga offered Kitty the chance to duet with her this year. However, when questioned about the story, the singer admitted that her next collaboration will be with someone a little more high profile. She explained:

Simon Cowell has hit back at Sir Elton John, after he publicly criticised his various TV talent shows.
The ‘X Factor’ boss – who previously fronted ‘American Idol’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ – accused the ‘Rocket Man’ singer of not investing anything in new music himself, despite being ridiculously rich.
He said: “Well, look. This is somebody who charges what, a million dollars a private gig? Two million dollars, you know? I don’t know whether he’s concerned about himself — maybe he is.”

Simon Cowell has joked that he would only hire Elton John, if he wanted to run his new creche on The X Factor.
The ‘Rocket Man’ singer has publicly criticised the reality TV show on many occasions and when asked whether he could overlook his rants and hire Elton for his new American series, Cowell told Access Hollywood:
“If we’ve got somebody with kids, he’s more than welcome to come along and run the nursery. So if you’re watching, Elton, there’s another job. I’m serious. He can do it.”

Elton John has hit out at modern pop music, saying that most of today’s female artists sound the same.
Becoming a dad for the first time hasn’t mellowed the legendary singer and composer and in an interview with The Mirror, he hit out at stars like Cheryl Cole and The Saturdays saying:
“Frankly, they all sound the same. It’s hard to tell Girls Aloud from The Saturdays. And then there’s Cheryl Cole… It’s all c**p.

The ‘Your Song’ singer reportedly told Chris Evans that he thinks contestants will struggle with the short lived nature of fame, that reality TV shows often generate.

Musical legend Elton John has blasted reality TV shows such as X Factor, American Idol and Britain’s Got Talent, calling them ‘paralysingly brain crippling.’
In an interview with Metro, the ‘Your Song’ singer admitted that he had been asked to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol this year but turned the role down. He added:
‘I’m not a fan of talent shows. I probably wouldn’t have lasted if I’d gone on one.’
