Emily Symons Leaves Dancing On Ice

Dancing On Ice

Finally! Emily Symons leaves Dancing On ice….its was a result that was almost inevitable.

Emily, 37, failed to impress the judges despite an acrobatic display in a skate-off with ex-Blue star Duncan James, 38.

Duncan was a unanimous choice. Aussie Emily admitted: “The others were far ahead of me.”

I think we would all agree!

Lee Sharpe Leaves Dancing On Ice

How did she do it? Emily Symons has survived another elimination and escaped being in the bottom twos couples tonight in ITV’s Dancing On Ice.

I think that most people would agree that Emily should have left the competition last week, if not before, but somehow she keeps surviving the public vote. Sympathy is a fantastic emotion, but at this stage people should really be voting on the basis of skill and not on personality.

I think it was unfair that Lee had to leave tonight, but as he ended up in the bottom two with Clare Buckfield it wasn’t at all surprising. The judges were unanimous, they saved Clare. Hopefully after this Clare will make the final and Emily will leave next week. A Duncan, Clare, Kyran final is only right.

Lisa Scott Lee Leaves Dancing On Ice

Another reality TV shocker! I bet most of the UK were betting on Emily Symons leaving Dancing On Ice tonight. After a few trips on the ice both his week and last, I assumed that Emily would at least be in the skate off. And lets be honest if that had happened, what judge would have saved her?

However Emily made it through to next week without facing the skate off, she left that priveledge to Duncan James and Lisa Scott Lee.

Once again I wrongly assumed that Duncan James would be leaving, even though I think he is the superior skater. What I like about the men in this show is that they can skate independently. The girls lean a lot on their partner and I noticed this more than ever tonight when Emily and Lisa were skating.

Both Lisa and Duncan skated much better second time round, but 4 out of 5 judges saved Duncan and Lisa looked gutted to leave. From this week on it will get harder and harder to chose a winner. Well after Emily goes!

Stephen Gately and Kristina Cousins Leave Dancing on Ice

Dancing On Ice

The competition is opened each week with world famous Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean giving us a sensational routine followed by manoeuvres expected that night from the competitors.

Tonight the required element was the ‘assisted jump’ with both feet raised from the ground

The performances have become very daring and exciting with each couple introducing more courageous manoeuvres each week and the gap between professional and celebrity becoming less noticeable.

Dancing On Ice 2007: Emily Symons Splits With Boyfriend

DANCING on Ice star Emily Symons has this week split up with her boyfriend Matt Healy (AKA Matthew King from Emmerdale).

A pal revealed: “They have hardly seen each other in recent months as they have both been so busy.

“And with Emily racing between the Emmerdale set in Leeds and Dancing On Ice training down in London, it was the final straw.

“Emily is distraught by it and is struggling to hold it together.

“But she is a strong person and has been determined to battle on through her heartache and do her best in the show. She is close to tears a lot of the time, but her partner Daniel Whiston and the rest of the cast have been really supportive.”

Poor Emily, I imagine that the grueling schedule of Dancing On Ice is tough enough to cope with without added stress or pressure. Maybe taking part in the show will help take her mind off her heartache.

Dancing On Ice: Emily Symons Hopes To Make Family Proud.

Emily Symons has revealed that she is determined to win ITV’s Dancing On Ice and make her family proud.

Emily told Inside Soap magazine: “When I was a teenager my little brother started skating quite seriously. I used to go and watch him in competitions. I even bought myself some white skates and tried it a few times. When the ‘Dancing On Ice’ producers asked me to audition for them back in August, I jumped at the chance. I hope my family will be proud of me.”

Emily has also told the magazine that we shouldn’t expect to see too much of her in Emmerdale over the next few weeks as her training schedule has greatly interfered with her filming one.

The 37-year-old said: “My episode schedule has been reduced because so much of my time is spent skating. I couldn’t cope with both, so I am really only going to be in the odd scene here and there for the next few weeks.”

Dancing On Ice 2007: Emily Symons Continues With Broken Rib

Ice Skating may look graceful and beautiful, but it is actually quite a dangerous sport. Emmerdale actress Emily Symons knows this more than most as she prepares for the Dancing On Ice Launch this Saturday with a broken rib.

Emily had her rib broken just before Christmas when her skating partner was lifting her and squeezed her a bit too hard!

“I broke my rib on the last day of training before Christmas. I came off the ice thinking ‘that really hurts’ and the next day I couldn’t walk or breathe very well,” Symons said.

“I had to ring the physio and say ‘we have a problem’. I’m taking painkillers. It should take six to eight weeks to recover but I told the physio I needed to be sorted in two.”
