This brand new series for ITV2 sees Fearne Cotton getting up close and personal to starlets Paris Hilton, Peaches Geldof and Alesha Dixon.

With exclusive access to the celebrities’ lives and inner-circles, Fearne hangs out with them when they’re on stage, at home, in the office, in the studio and while they’re relaxing with friends. And, as she gets to know them, they open up to her about their families and love lives.

Before embarking on her inquisitive journey into the celebrities’ lives, Fearne studies the way the press portray them and says she hopes to find out whether their media images are true to them or not.

Fearne says: “The whole lifestyle behind the public image is fascinating. I love piecing together the jigsaw puzzle of what lies beneath the surface. The series will be a real chance to peel back the layers of the celebrities’ lives.”

Episode one

The first episode in the series sees Fearne gain an exclusive insight into the life of the controversial heiress Paris Hilton.

As she jets out to join her in her LA mansion, Fearne hopes to discover the truth behind the headlines about the model, actress and pop star.

With her glamorous lifestyle the 28-year-old is pursued by paparazzi wherever she goes and has become a fixture in the world’s magazines and newspapers.

Coming from the Hilton Hotel dynasty Paris is rumoured to be worth in excess of $50 million. Her name is now a brand in its own right, which includes clothing and handbag ranges, a perfume collection, record label and even a dog accessories range. But Fearne sets out to discover how much Paris is involved. Is she simply a figure head or is she more than just a pretty face?

Paris has starred in five series of the hit reality TV show The Simple Life as well as her own hugely successful Paris’ British Best Friend and My New BFF shows. She has made guest star appearances in the OC and My Name is Earl as well as big screen guest roles in films like Zoolander. But is the Paris we see on screen the same Paris behind closed doors?

She’s written a best selling book – Confessions of an Heiress as well as launching a pop career achieving the top 10 in 17 countries with her single, The Stars Are Blind.

Fearne wants to find out what’s next for the star, and if she really believes she can achieve success in everything that she does.

Fearne Cotton examines the ongoing trend for super-slim women and immerses herself in the worrying world of ‘pro-ana’ websites who encourage anorexia and starvation as a life choice.

As Fearne explores the diet and exercise regime of a ‘pro-ana’, she’ll try some of the extreme regimes that they endorse and meet other girls who’ve embraced the same lifestyle. She will explore the seductive nature of these ‘support’ groups, examine the world of competitive dieting, and look at relationships that ordinary women have with each other when it comes to diet and body image.

Fearne Cotton says: “It’s been a surreal journey making this show and I have learnt a lot. I hope it shows girls and women out there that they can get help if they need it.

“Hopefully the show demonstrates how serious eating disorders can be and how more help is needed out there. I also really want people to see how damaging and terrifying pro anorexic websites are. I was so shocked and I’m sure most will be too.”

Former Xtra Factor host, Fearne Cotton has spoken out about the amount of attention that her pal, Holly Willoughby’s revealing Dancing On Ice dresses have gotten recently, and described the drama as “hilarious!”

She told The Sun: “I think it’s hilarious. It seems weird that there is so much fuss over Holly’s boobs when they are obviously really great.

“We all know Holly Willoughby has the most amazing figure ever. Anyway she’s always dressed like that. She loves the ’50s style fashion which oozes glamour.

“It only got about five complaints. It’s all a bit of fun and she shouldn’t change.”

Fearne Cotton has quit her job as presenter of X factor spinoff show, The Xtra Factor, so that she can concentrate on her career in America.

Fearne took the job from Ben Shepherd last year, but is keen now to move in the footsteps of Cat Deeley and make it in the States.

A source told The Sun: “Fearne had fun working on X Factor but she decided to quit while she was ahead.

“There was no guarantee she would have been doing a second series. It made sense to make a clean break and concentrate on America.

“There’s no bad blood between her and the X Factor lot but they didn’t exactly get on like a house on fire.”

Fearne Cotton, ever the romantic, has decided to bring some lurve into this years X Factor series.

As part her ITV2 show, The Xtra Factor, Fearne will have a slot called Cotton Buddies. The TV star remarked yesterday: “A lot of the people waiting to audition are single and bored. So I wander around and try to set people up”

She added: “It’s fun and takes their minds of being nervous.”

She did have quite a giggle when a journalist suggested that she might try and get Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh together as they seemed to miss each other so much during Louis’ short sacking. But to be honest, I think Simon is way out of Louis’ league!

Fearne Cotton has been speaking about her joy at being offered the job as host of the X factor spin off show, Xtra Factor.

“It’s amazing fun. I love the auditions but I can’t wait to get into the studio,” Fearne told Hot Stars magazine.

“I love the judges. I adore Sharon Osbourne and love hanging out with her. Louis Walsh coming back was a brilliant surprise. I missed him – not that I worked with him before – but he’s such a giggle. I really admire Simon Cowell. There’s this weird perception he’s mean but he’s just honest. And I’ve interviewed Dannii Minogue quite a few times. She’s very sweet, and loving being on the show.”

Fearne Cotton has recently been announced as Ben Shephard’s replacement on the ITV2 TV Show, The Xtra Factor.

So imagine her surprise when she shows up to the auditions to find her ex-boyfriend, Peter Brame, standing in line.

The pair first met when Peter appeared on BBC reality TV show, Fame Academy.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday: “Thankfully he didn’t cause a rumpus. He was more intent on making an impression on Simon Cowell. Fearne was relieved when he’d gone though.”

The Sun has tipped Fearne Cotton as the new host for X Factor spin off show, The Xtra Factor. Ben Shephard quit the show last month after being passed over for the main presenters job.

An ITV insider said: “Fearne was top of our list — she’s young, bright and is on top of the pop world with her Radio 1 show.

“We’re in final discussions and hope to make an announcement soon.”

Eurovision: Making Your Mind up will be hosted once again by Eurovision veteran Sir Terry Wogan and this year he will be joined by Fearne Cotton.

Terry said: “This year hope springs eternal. Who knows, this could be the year that the UK makes it into the top ten. It’s about time!”

Fearne is no stranger to Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up having served as a judge on last year’s show.

She said: “I’m delighted to be returning to Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up as a co-host with my pal Terry this year.

“I can’t wait to see what tricks the acts have up their sleeves this time. Can anyone top DJ Daz’s troupe of school girls?

“It’s an eclectic mix again this year so it will be anyone’s guess who the public will vote for.”

Terry and Fearne will be joined in the studio by a panel of experts who will cast their judgement over the acts but the ultimate decision about who will be packing up their parka for Helsinki will be the public’s.

Viewers can vote for their favourite act by phone or text with all the profits from the votes going to BBC Children In Need.

The winner will be revealed in a second show later in the evening.
