Dermot O’Leary has revealed that the lineup for this year’s X Factor series has been 95% finalised.
The series returns to our screens in August 2013 and judges auditions for the new run begin next month, however, the panellists have not yet been confirmed by the channel or Simon Cowell.

As the start of The X Factor 2013 grows ever closer, the long list of names linked to the judging panel grows ever longer – it happens religiously, year in, year out.
The latest name to be added to the list is Spice Girl Mel B. It is said that she is set to pinch Nicole Scherzinger’s seat on the panel when the show returns later this year.

Gary Barlow has welcomed his pal Mark Owen to Twitter.
The Take That star opened an account on the micro blogging website this afternoon and so far, has only written one tweet.
The X Factor judge sent his bandmate and long time friend a message which read:
“Welcome to twitter @officialmarkO”

Gary Barlow has made his decision people and he knows whether or not he’s coming back to The X Factor.
The ‘Patience’ hitmaker was rumoured to be stepping down from the show, so he could concentrate on his family and music career in 2013, with insiders saying he was planning to dedicate his time to a brand new Take That album and tour in the next twelve months.

During last night’s edition of BBC talent quest The Voice, stars and fans alike posted their comments on the show’s Twitter account, including X Factor stars Gary Barlow and Dermot O’Leary…
However, things became somewhat awkward when, having thanked Dermot for watching, whoever was overseeing The Voice Twitter account turned down an invite from Dermot to pop along to filming of ITV’s The X Factor.
The exchange began when Dermot commented on one of the hopefuls who was performing in a blind audition, “She doesn’t want a hug. She wants them to push the button.” Read more & comment »

Gary Barlow is pressing ahead with his solo career and the Take That singer has just been added to the lineup for the upcoming Radio 2 concert in London in May.
The ‘Rule The World’ hitmaker will take to the stage at the Friday Night Is Music Night event ’2DAY’, which will be staged in Hackney Empire on the 10th May and the dad of three will play songs from his Take That and solo albums.

Simon Cowell has ruled himself out of returning to the UK series of X Factor this year.
It had been rumoured that the music mogul would make a comeback to the panel, to help boost falling ratings and the poor viewing figures that plagued the 2012 run last year.
However, while he admitted that the show is ‘closest’ to his heart, Cowell admitted that he won’t be back for 2013, as he will be too busy with the US version.

Gary Barlow has proved that he can mentor outside of The X Factor and he has warned his new protege A*M*E to be true to herself now that her music career is taking off.
The 18 year old is a Sierra Leonean-born British singer-songwriter and was discovered and signed by the Take That star and signed to his label, Future Records.

ITV bosses have decided to bring the X Factor back to basics and have unveiled plans to stage new, more intimate auditions for hopefuls trying to win a place on the live shows this year.
There has been a bit of a shakeup for the new series, which will see judges’ auditions kicking off next month and while we don’t yet know who will be sitting on the panel when the tryouts begin, we do know that many auditionees will be required to sing twice for the celebrities.

Fans of X Factor judge Gary Barlow will of course know that he and wife Dawn last year suffered the tragedy of losing their baby daughter Poppy when she was stillborn…
And of course, Gary has moved heaven and earth to ensure he’s been there for his wife and his children in the wake of Poppy’s death, which came just before filming of last year’s Judges’ Houses rounds began.
And though it had been widely assumed that Gary would be back on The X Factor judging panel this year – after ITV battled to keep him when Simon Cowell wanted him axed – he apparently has yet to sign up for another run and won’t do so until he’s “confident” that his family are happy for him to commit so much of his time to the show.
