Former Eastenders actress Gemma Bissix said she would rather not do any more reality TV shows but can’t rule them out in the current recession.

Gemma starred in Dancing On Ice earlier this year and may yet pop up on Celebrity Big Brother.

Speaking at the British Soap Awards Gemma told MSN:

“I don’t necessarily want to do any more reality TV and things – I am going to give it a year and try and see what I can get out of it and hopefully be a bit fussy, but I don’t think it’s possible in this recession,” she said.

“I just think with the reality TV it’s very difficult actually being established as an actress,” she said. “There’s not many dramas being made, things being written and so it’s a difficult world out there for actors at the moment.”

Former Eastenders actress, Gemma Bissix is pleading with people to vote in their droves and put Todd Carty and Coleen Nolan in this years Dancing On Ice final.

Gemma was ejected from the show last Saturday night and wants to hit back at judge, Jason Gardiner who told her that she looked like a cardboard cutout on the ice. In a bid for revenge Gemma has asked people to put this years worst skaters through to the final just to annoy the acid tongued queen.

“It will be brilliant. They could be another John Sergeant,” Bissix told The Sun. “The public have realised they are in control of the leaderboard. It will drive Jason mad if they carry on doing well.

“[Jason] is shooting himself in the foot, because the harsher the comments he makes, the more people will get behind them. He’ll be furious when he has only got the underdogs left.”

Oh it must be hard to be the first one voted off a reality TV show and tonight soap bitch Gemma Bissix knows just how it feels.

Gemma has spent weeks issuing smack talk to the other female Dancing On Ice competitors, going on and on about how Roxanne Pallet was her big competition on the show, then tonight, it turns out that neither one of them can skate very well.

So tonight Gemma found herself in the skate off with Melinda Messenger. Neither girl managed to skate unaided but Melinda was undoubtedly more steady and graceful on the ice. The judges agreed and all five voted to keep Melinda and send Gemma the “superfan” home.

So who stood out for you on tonight’s show? My tips for the top have to be Zoe Salmon and Jessica Taylor, though neither one even nearly matches the standard that Ray Quinn set last week.

Former Eastenders star, Gemma Bissix has revealed that she has asked the wardrobe department of Dancing On Ice to make her costumes as revealing as possible so she can show off her new toned figure.

Speaking to the Daily Star, she explained: “This is by far the sexiest figure I have ever had. I have never been overly bothered about my weight. I like having curves and something to hold on to.

“But all this training has tightened everything up. I have got rid of my bingo wings and my bum is so tight!”

She added: “I’m so happy with my curves I told the wardrobe girls to make the costumes as short, tight and low-cut as possible.”

Gemma Bissix has revealed that one of the big reasons she signed up for Dancing On Ice 2009 was so that she could shed the ‘queen bitch’ image that her recent roles have brought.

Gemma has previously played Clare Devine in Hollyoaks and Clare Bates in EastEnders, both women were evil and manipulative and Gemma fears that she may be typecast if she doesn’t show people a softer side.

“I’ve been such a bitch on telly, in both Hollyoaks and EastEnders, that I thought it would be a really nice change for my family to see me being a bit pretty,” Bissix told We Love Telly! magazine.

“I hope after this I’ll get a role that doesn’t involve being a man-eater or a murderer. I might even get a different character name, and not be a Clare any more!”

She also admitted that the rehearsal period has been harder than she expected saying:

“It has been a real challenge. After five weeks of training, doing two to three hours a day on the ice, I’ve got the actual skating element of it. I just need to point the toes, stretch the arms and be a bit more graceful.”

Dancing on Ice launches tomorrow night at 7.00pm on ITV1.

Gemma Bissix will be competing in this years Dancing On Ice contest on ITV1.

Gemma is best known as Clare Bates in EastEnders and Clare Devine in Hollyoaks; she was awarded with two British Soap Awards for the latter role.

Talking about her intentions for the series Gemma said:

“I will make sure I skate before Roxy [Roxanne Pallett] and scatter sequins all over the ice so she falls over. There can only be one winner and that’s going to be me”.

Gemma will partner Andrei Lipanov in the new series.

Gemma Bissix is rumoured to have been lined up as a late addition to the Dancing On Ice team as Jennifer Metcalfe pulls out.

Gemma is best know for playing the evil Clare in both Eastenders and Hollyoaks and is quite a scoop for the ITV show.

An insider told The Daily Star: “Gemma has been approached and is clearing her schedule. She is expected to sign any day now.

“She is a massive scoop for ITV1. Not only is she a huge star, she’s also a stunning girl who will bring much-needed glamour to the ice.”

When Gemma Bissix signed up for Sports Relief does Strictly Come Dancing, you can bet she didn’t think she’d be hitting the headlines for hitting, kicking and stamping on her partner.

But the poorly co-ordinated actress seems to have given her partner a really hard time recently, whilst trying to master the shows routines.

Gemma told The Daily Star: “We had loads of mishaps.

“I put my heel into Darren when I was wearing stilettos, which must have really hurt. I also accidentally punched him in the face.

“We couldn’t stop laughing – even though we both have such a serious dance. We’re both as mental as each other.”
