Gladiators star, Enigma, has revealed that she has the hots for show presenter, Ian Wright, and has been trying to impress him for weeks.

She told The Sun: “He’s funny, fit, a wicked presenter – and has a great bum.”

A show insider added: “Every time Enigma sees Ian she starts stretching out in her Lycra one-piece.”

Gladiators continues tomorrow at 6.00pm on Sky One.

Sky One bosses are said to be jumping for joy, after the all new, revamped, Gladiators acheived 1.8 million viewers for its launch on Sunday night.

It seems that Sunday was a good night for Sky One overall as Shane Richie’s new Sky One karaoke quiz, Don’t Forget The Lyrics, also got nearly a milllion viewers.

Quite embarrassingly, I am actually looking forward to the new series of Gladiators on Sky One.

When we were sent this trailer for the revamped show, I was quite excited about what the set would look like, how revealing the costumes would be and how many fit men would be involved.

I was quite disappointed therefore, to find that nothing of the sort is revealed in this clip. It did raise the levels of anticipation though!

Former Celebrity Big Brother contestant, Danielle Lloyd has injured herself whilst training for Celebrity Gladiators on Sky One.

Danielle injured her ankle when she fell 20ft into water as she practised the risky Duel challenge.

It is not yet known if she will now be able to compete on the show.

Gladiators is set to make a triumphant return on Sky One tomorrow night, however a show source has revealed to The mediaguardian website that the team has been hit with a stream of injuries and that at least one person won’t be able to compete in the opening show.

“It’s been a health and safety minefield,” a source is quoted as saying. “There have been injuries left, right and centre. It’s not been helped by the fact that the show has been put together quite quickly.”

A Sky spokeswoman told the website: “The health and safety of our Gladiators and contenders is our number one priority. We have three times the required levels of health and safety on the show and have spent the last week reviewing every single element to make sure this is the safest possible environment for the games before we start filming for real.

“We would never jeopardise the wellbeing of anyone, whether they be in front of or behind the camera. It is worth putting into perspective, however, that this is Gladiators – a tough physical show for athletes. It’s not Family Fortunes!”

Gladiator bosses have had to bin a load of skimpy show costumes after they discovered that they went see through in the water.

How much fun would that have been eh?

A source told The Sun: “We have to keep everyone decent.

“It’s a family show after all.”

Just last week Sky One revealed the final list of Gladiators to appear on the show!

Sky One today (Friday 11 April, 2008) announced 12 all new GLADIATORS, modern day heroes who will rule the arena and the fate of the ‘Contenders’ in a big, bold reinvention of the 90s TV sensation. In the eight years since GLADIATORS was last on UK screens, the series has gained a place in the nation’s hearts. Now it’s back with a 21st Century makeover, but retaining all of the classic elements that made the original such a massive hit.

Ian Wright and Kirsty Gallacher preside over the contest as 32 contenders take on TVs toughest challenges in the hope of becoming crowned series champion and winning the £50,000 prize. They are joined by original referee John Anderson on the new series to be filmed on two giant sound stages at Shepperton Studios, the biggest studio sets in the UK.

32 of the UK’s finest athletes have been whittled down from 20,000 applicants and they will face the awesome power of the 12 all new GLADIATORS in iconic events such as Duel, Powerball, Hang Tough and, of course, The Eliminator. Do they have the speed, the strength and the heart to beat them?

Sky One is gearing up to relaunch 90’s TV show, Gladiators, which originally aired on ITV.

However, ITV aren’t going to go down without a fight and have drafted in Simon Cowell’s company Syco to make a big arena show to rival Sky One’s effort.

An ITV insider told The Sun: “Our bosses were offered Gladiators but turned it down in favour of Simon’s idea. The two shows are going to war.”
